Well, it depends on how they feel about it. If they feel it effects the dynamics of the game because people aren't playing it they way they intended, and so they feel as angry about it as some people on this forum, then they would change it in an instant. It would take a programmer 10 minutes to change it, so because they haven't, I think we can assume they don't mind.
Duping: If you don't like it, don't do it... Why is this so hard for people to understand? Must be the same people who haven't figured out how to change the tv channel to avoid watching shows they don't approve of..
Yeah, it's a bitter pill now for some to realize, as the reality sets in, that this wasn't patched. It will be tougher for them still when it's not patched in the next update either. Or the one after that. Or the one after that. Because aside from a few busy-bodies and drama queens in this forum, nobody, and I mean NOBODY cares about the duping glitch. Not 99.9% of the people who play this game, not Sony and probably not even PD.

I'm not a programmer, but if we want to be able to back up our saves (pretty sure the answer to this is a unanimous "yes") there's pretty much no way to prevent people from duping other than getting rid of the gifting function. Please correct me if I'm incorrect. So you can have gifting without the ability to back up your "work" in GT5 (hence no duping), gifting and backing up i.e. duping, or backing up save files and no duping nor gifting. The current limitation of one gift per day per psn account is pretty effective, but it can't stop the more determined dupers among us with dozens of psn accounts. I can live with that. It baffles me why so many people can't.
The game has been out for long enough now, people having cars is no longer an issue. And now with the PP system it's even less of an issue. Stop crying.
To be fair I only do it for anyone, and I don't see how it make money useless, I only dupe cars that are rare, dealership cars are pointless duplicating

Yeah, I was thinking that. How, exactly, would you prevent duping?
Given that this is very much "meta", it's outside the control of PD. The only way I can think to prevent it would be to assign a unique identifier to every car you buy or win, as you buy or win it.
The massive, massive problem with ths idea is the unique identifier would have to be, well, massive. There are, potentially, and infinite number of cars you could buy and, potentially, an infinte number of GT5 players, so you would need an infinitely long unique identifier.

If you don't associate with idiots online while you're doing your serious racing with other like-minded serious racers, why does it rile you up enough to comment repeatedly about duping on an internet message board that some idiot duper (all idiots are dupers and all dupers are idiots, right?) is running an x1 against traffic on some track that you're obviously not on since you'd never associate with such idiots online?
