This is a serious question based on everything we've known, read, heard, hoped for, and anticipated since the first news of anything relating to GT5.

First let me get out of the way what a Supernova and Phoenix are for those who don't know.

A supernova is a Sun/Star that is in the ends of its life, where it firstly slowly begins to seemingly get smaller when it is actually compressing and creates a strong gravitation pull, pulling everything within is grasp towards itself, then it explodes outward (one could only imagin the true effects), then gives birth or leaves behind the one of (if not the most) mysterious forces or seemingly unstoppable power the human race as ever discovered... A black hole, which sucks (presumably) anything and everything close enough to it, into something we may never know about.

A Phoenix is a fictional bird of fire that can bring back the dead, but when a Phoenix itself is at the end of its life, it never truely dies, but burns out into ashes and creates a new Phoenix in its place.

So how do I think GT5 relates to these?

1. GT5 is a Supernova? Why not? GT5 has been one of the most longest developed, anticipated, and HYPED games for the past 5 years, with MILLIONS of people awaiting its arrival, not to mention the GT franchise is a World Wide Event in itself, with competitions, representations, car developements, and other things all in the name if Gran Turismo (At least I think so :grumpy: ), not to mention all the haters hating on its long developement, which is similar to the events of a Sun compressing itself as it gets closer to its explosion.

1 part 2. How does it relate to the explosion? Easily. When its freaking released...

1 part 3. How does it relate to a black hole? That would be everything that happens relating to the effects after the game is released. It is unknown. We just assume it is for the moment... incomprehensible.

2. Is GT5 a Phoenix? Why not? The GT series is well known to put millions of people in awe of its greatness and influence, even during this long tiring wait for its new arrival.

2 part 2 (WTF? Its Half-Life 2 all over again). How does it relate to the death and rebirth of a Phoenix? Easily. The current form of everything we've come to know and love of the GT Series is the current Phoenix, while GT5 is the beginning of the newly born Gran Turismo.

So, there it is. What do you guys think? Agree? Why wouldn't you? I mean WHY else would the game be delayed from even its home country? I HIGHLY doubt its Polyphony Digitals idea, but rather Sony's idea. Why? Marketing purposes, stratigic release timing, and the building of HYPE HYPE HYPE, which is probably what they are going do all at once at this years E3.

So. Could it possibly be that Gran Turismo 5 is a great force preparing unleash its power? :nervous: Could it be that GT5 is a *gasp*... SUPERSTAR!

I'm not sure what substances you seem to use, but can i have some?
One hyperbole after the other, but what's seems to be your point exactly?
GT5 as a phoenix suggests it has died at some point, man it's just a ( annoyingly, sure ) delay after a long development process.
And it turning into a black hole of anti-climax ( or whatever it was you're suggesting ), is not only a weak metaphor but doesn't exactly clear it up either.
So seriously ( as you claim it to be ) what are you trying to say?

Please use English instead of Klingon.....

Uhhhh. What?

:tup:This guy has some imagination! At least I can't say "use the search functiun next time" because this topic is out of this world and definately wouldn't be found in a search on GTPlanet! HAHAHAHA!

EDIT: Welcome to GTPlanet anyway, happy posting. A little off the wall but still a quality post.

Be gentle, guys. Its my first thread. :indiff:

I honestly don't know why anyone would be confused. I explained everything in detail. I'm sure I'm not the only one whos thinks something similar to this.

Alright. I love you, Gran_Turismo. Welcome to GTPlanet.net.

Now, as for the thread. I don't think GT5 will be a supernova. I think it'll be a black hole for the rest of the racing sim industry.

what are you trying to say?

I was basically comparing the hype, wait, and prediction of after release effects for GT5 to something of greatness and wanted to know if anyone felt the same way.

Thats the message I was trying to send.

Thank you. I am very happy to be here and hope to be a welcomed addition to the forums. :)

Also thank you for the comment on the subject.

Okay fair enough, i did see you were trying to compare GT5 with a great happening ( or myth ) like the ones you mentioned, i just became confused by the way you tried to describe it.
Anyway, welcome Gran_Turismo, and if this is the way you describe your enthusiasm we might expect a whole lot more, just try to make your point clear enough, it was a bit cryptic for my liking. ;)👍

This version will be so good you can jump onto John Cusack who will do piggyback runs around the Nurburgring and all the cars that ever existed will be swallowed by black holes behind him.

Ohohohooo Gran_Turismo! I don't know what you've been smoking, but I want it too!

Oh yeah, add this option to the poll:

(X) - No, it's just a game.

Things that people post because they are going crazy over the wait time...

Its a game that is taking long to develop. I dont see it as anything more than that.

This is what can happen if you smoke herb while reading about quantum physics. Well like my dad used to tell me all the time,"they call it dope for a reason ya dope!"

I can't believe I replied to this thread.

LMFAO@THIS THREAD!

Is GT5 a video game or a soda machine?

WHAT!!!!

Simply childish 👎

I'd say you have a nice metaphor there, I can't say whether its true yet until GT5 is released though ;). I think GT5 certainly appears to be a "re-imagining" of the GT series, going by what we have seen in Prologue, GTPSP and the licensing of official motorsport series in the game. Its not a simple sequel.

I like your imagination mate!! Definitely got me thinking for a bit!! I reckon if anything GT5 is a supernova just waiting to happen!!

Don't mind the haters and cynics, I've noticed a lot of the so call "veterans" of this forum seem to have this super ego you've just got to get used to. Have a sense of humour for once jeez!! Got to have some fun once in a while!!

Quality post Gran_Turismo!!

People who talk in metaphors can shampoo my crotch!

GT5 is a videogame.

And yet, when something about this video game gets released, or if bad news comes about this video game, this forum explodes in hate or love...

Technically speaking....yes it is a video game....but the way GT has developed, it's a lot more than just a game for a lot of people.

Just ask the two winners of GT Academy as one example...

...for me personally, GT was a game that broadened my car knowledge beyond what I thought it would when I joined the series in GT3...now and days it's almost like a tool for many things....to educate people on car culture, to use as a simulator for pros and amateurs and "gamers", and to create REAL LIFE RACING DRIVERS. What other games (if you can call it that) do that? Just my two cents and opinion.

As for this thread, welcome Gran_Turismo....I thought the post was quite mind-tingling haha. If nothing else, it's at least a little more fun and thought-provoking than another release date thread (ask around if you don't know what I'm talking about).

GT5 is a 7 year old girl that kicks you in the nuts every time you get close to her at recess in kindergarten. Then once you're both a little older she's all over you in the school bathroom.
