When was the last update or the last DLC for GT5?

Should we consider GT5 done with?

Last DLC was Jan 15, 2013 which was the C7 Stingray.

Last update was April 23rd for removing hacked cars.

I suppose it wouldn't make much sense releasing new cars or tracks for GT5 as that would really be slowing sales of GT6.

I think GT5 is finished, We had long support from PD, and it time for them to move on imo. Almost Everyone excited for GT6.

I think the seasonal events will be updated until the release of GT6.... I hope.

I think a Spec 3 should be released giving us access all the secret parts and regional cars like the 5g. then be done til GT6

I doubt anythings coming expect seasonals. And to put this way, I hope GT5 development is dead. Otherwise PD is wasting time they could working on GT6.:ouch:

I wholeheartedly agree with this. "Prioritize" is the key word here for PD. If they want GT6 to be great from the start, and not unfinished like GT5 was (I blame GT PSP ), they better put their heart and soul into developing it.

I don't even play GT5 anymore since the GT6 announcement..
So I guess yeah GT5 is finished, everybody is preparing for GT6 :D

No it's not dead, it's just called GT6 now.

I has been dead for months...

Why WOULDN'T it be dead? I mean do you honestly want them to be working on GT5 when GT6 comes out, 3 years after GT5 came out?

If they are 100% done with GT5 then they should open up all DLC for the remaining players :)

I think all games should do this for one last hurrah.

I think it's safe to say that they've been almost exclusively focused on GT6 for a good while now. Even the Corvette thing was more so they would be able to get the publicity of being the first game to have it rather than indicative of the kind of support the game got last year.

I do, but then again I got the game only 1-2 months ago.

Uninformed opinion. This is not true at all

Otherwise PD is wasting time they could working on GT6.:ouch:

Any content put into GT5 could be carried over to GT6. No time is wasted. Again, uninformed opinion

not unfinished like GT5 was .

GT5 was unfinished? I never got that memo. Works absolutely fine up until 100% completion for me. Numerous bug fixes, online optimization, and DLC doesn't count as /unfinished/ .. that is called proper support of a game 👍

i blame sony for rushing Kaz.

For the 3rd time, uninformed opinion. You have no evidence of this

I don't even play GT5 anymore since the GT6 announcement..

If you dont play GT5 anymore how would you know its 'finished' ? The game was updated just a month ago and tons of people are still playing.

Uninformed opinion.

It is not uncommon for developers to remain supporting outdated products. There is no reason at all to suspect PD will abandon GT5 completely. And to answer your question: Yes I would. Showing your customers they arent left in the dust for a cash-cow franchise = 👍 (Kind of like EA)

Also, this:

I do, but then again I got the game only 1-2 months ago.

👍

Even the Corvette thing was more so they would be able to get the publicity of being the first game to have it

Yet another uninformed opinion, based off absolutely nothing except speculation. You guys sure do pull a lot of stuff out of your arse

This thread should be renamed to "More GT6 speculation" so it can just go away, rather than dilute this community with even more rumors

Wow. Someone has his knickers in a twist.

I've had plenty of value out of GT5, if there's no more support bar the weekly challenges then I'm more than happy with that. I still boot it up every other day & will do until the day GT6 drops through the letterbox.

I think it is... well the servers will for sure be online the next 5 years... and thats it.

Uninformed opinion. This is not true at all
What isn't true about it? Actually explain why rather than just saying it's wrong and for some reason the matter should be settled. It's kind of common sense that if you give your old game the same new content that the new game would have, people wouldn't see as much reason to buy the new game.

Any content put into GT5 could be carried over to GT6. No time is wasted. Again, uninformed opinion
If they were making changes to the game itself rather than adding content it would in fact be, because someone needs to take the time to do so instead of working on GT6 which is obviously the more important thing on PD's plate right now.

GT5 was unfinished? I never got that memo. Works absolutely fine up until 100% completion for me. Numerous bug fixes, online optimization, and DLC doesn't count as /unfinished/ .. that is called proper support of a game 👍
Yes. It was objectively unfinished, because there were advertised features that needed to be patched in after release (not the least of which being the entire online mode).

For the 3rd time, uninformed opinion. You have no evidence of this
No evidence of what? That Kaz said he wanted more time to work on GT5 before having to release it? Because there is more than one interview where he said exactly that.

If you dont play GT5 anymore how would you know its 'finished' ? The game was updated just a month ago and tons of people are still playing.
The game was updated a month ago for no other reason (and doing nothing else besides) than to "sort of" fix the hacking issue. The last update that changed any of the features of the game was back in February; and the biggest aspect of that was fixing something they broke in January. It's certainly possible that a game that only got patched after 4 months of inactivity to deter hacking will get future updates, but by all means say why it is likely that it will.

It is not uncommon for developers to remain supporting outdated products. There is no reason at all to suspect PD will abandon GT5 completely. And to answer your question: Yes I would. Showing your customers they arent left in the dust for a cash-cow franchise = 👍 (Kind of like EA)
Except it will have been three years when GT6 comes out and there is no reason for PD to continue supporting GT5 for anything other than bug fixes at that point since the goal with releasing a sequel is to get people to buy the sequel. How many updates did GT5:P get after GT5 came out?

Yet another uninformed opinion, based off absolutely nothing except speculation. You guys sure do pull a lot of stuff out of your arse
You mean to tell me that PD didn't make a big deal out of being the first game to have the car in it's final form, and didn't have a presence when GM first unveiled it? That GM themselves didn't hype up the car being in GT5 as being a way to drive it before it actually hits showroom floors? Could have fooled me.

Also, for you of all people to criticize others for pulling stuff out of their ass is certainly a fun treat.

Unless some problem occurs which they have to fix, I don't think there will be any more updates for GT5.

Perhaps they want to hand out special stuff for those who complete the GT Academy event, like last year. On the other hand I suppose the entire GT Academy/GT6 demo could be considered "special stuff".

Oh seaneedcar will set us all straight. Only HE is informed opinion.

Which he already proved himself (uninformed):lol:

I'd say it's dead. If they patch anything from now on, it'll be game breaking stuff similar to hybrids or general hacks. I'd be surprised if once GT6 is released they have new Seasonal Events. I believe this is why they've kept all the old ones on there, for more variety.

Uninformed opinion. This is not true at all
It is true, get over it.
Every single developing studio when a new game is about to be released they stop adding content to the previous game.
They are not idiots , they know how the market works.

Any content put into GT5 could be carried over to GT6. No time is wasted. Again, uninformed opinion
Right, they can import content from Heavy Rain or God of war easy and? so?
That doesn't mean that they must spend time to make something for the old engine (game engine) and import it to new (or vice-verse).

and btw... "bug fixes" = not proper testing.

For the 3rd time, uninformed opinion. You have no evidence of this.
Google it, or search here, you'll find numerous articles & post about it.

do you have any idea as for why it "was updated"?

Uninformed opinion.
Uninformed? Uninformed? it says "I has been dead for months..." and you tell him that he is uninformed?
In what exactly he is uniformed? what new news has he missed?
A very simple way to prove to you outside the game that the game is as good as dead is the forums here.
Have a look here, the GT5 section and compare it to GT6 section.

It is not uncommon for developers to remain supporting outdated products. There is no reason at all to suspect PD will abandon GT5 completely. And to answer your question: Yes I would. Showing your customers they arent left in the dust for a cash-cow franchise = (Kind of like EA)
That something is uncommon that doesnt means that everyone is doing it.
.And we are talking about 3 years after release, not 12-18 month later.
.And GT6 by K.Y. own words is a completely different thing and they ditched GT5 game engine cause it became too complicated.

Also, this:
and where exactly PD & Sony said that they will support GT5 for eternity?

Yet another uninformed opinion, based off absolutely nothing except speculation. You guys sure do pull a lot of stuff out of your arse
You do know that by saying "you are uninformed" and presenting 0-zero data or a different theory to prove the other one wrong it just makes you look mad, you realize that?
Yes we dont have a statement (as far as i know) from PD that says that, but if you read about the car... how much effort they put in MG to keep it secret, and gather all the pieces... well... it doesnt needs more than common sense to understand that what Tornado said just makes sense.
If you have a better explanation as for why PD added the car firstly as camouflaged for free and then revealed it (again as free DLC) feel free to "enlighten us".
Also you might want to read this:

Rumors? in what post exactly you read a rumor?
If you count for example MoLiEG's post (the post: "I has been dead for months... ") as rumor and not as a point of view or personal opinion or as fact... then you might want considering removing your brain, place it into a microwave oven for 2 hours and place back in.

P.S.1 Needless to say that i agree completely with everything that Tornado said in post #24 👍

I would say GT5 development has been dead for some time now. It would not make any sense to continue development at this point with a new product about to release in less than 6 months all hands need to be working on GT6.

The only thing I think we would see in GT5 would be a bug fix if something came up.
