Is Japan the Ultimate in ranking?

I've noticed that no matter where I go in the rankings you always find someone from Japan who got what it takes to come out on top. Are all the best drivers in the world from Japan?

They have some of the best driver and there are only few leader boards that they don't dominate.

Honestly, I think it depends on the car - some of the lesser used cars have very obtainable top scores because less people buy them and play around with them.

Yes they will but the august 1st update is not spec III.

Ah, thanks for the clarification. If you want to see a car they don't dominate the top then look at the Viper on the HSR - there is a guy there from the UK that posted an unbelievable time on it (using barrier ramming to great effect). It will be very interesting if the new release removes all those bugs and everyone is forced to race cleanly around all of the tracks.

Are you seeing the Japanese dominate tracks like HSR and Daytona as well?

Although I no longer have any first places in pro time trials I've managed to split the top guys a few times, it's quite amusing seeing a lone Brit flag amongst all the Japanese ones!

There is usually a Japanese guy at the top, but I do see many other countries represented in the ones I have done. Do they really dominate that much, through all the time trials?

They sure are quick, especially the TEW clan guys, basically you dont see them not in the top ten.

Maybe they don't dominate a few track/car combinations which they don't bother about, but from what i see in most cases they usually hold around the top 7 positions in the PRO trials.
That could be considered as dominating

It was a very sad day when I realized that 90% of the NTSC players do not attribute any posistive outlook on this game. They punt the most, they overdrive the most, they disconnect the most. Its very sad when I see TT dominated by JP or PAL players..Very sad indeed. But I am doing my part, trying to get others involved from NTSC. I am getting into the top 100 each TT, to prove that we NTSC are not the worst drivers. I participate in the Weekly TT, to again prove that we NTSC do not lack the skills to be fast. Even the developers of this game think we all lack the skills the be great drivers.

Also alot of people who used to be good at gt from the state's are now playing forza.

Good way to look @ it. Everyone has to pull those wheels out and hit those racing lines.

I used to buy cars in GT5P back and run each of them in the TT's, making sure I came first even if it took me hours and keep my eyes on them if any are beaten then counter that (back in the days PAL NTSC version werent out yet included). What I didn't expect is everytime PD decides to do the slightest update (like coming 1st august) all the times and rankings are wiped, all those hard hours gone down the drain, so I don't try anymore. I still take the cars on the TT to personal test and enjoy them for 20mins but I don't push for 1st anymore.

If PD didnt wipe rankings (maybe GT5 when Physics and setting might me completed) we would have many more fast drivers going for it.

but no doubt there is some fast Japanese drivers out there.

Well...Time Trials are for people that dont mind Driving on one track doing the same thing over and over and over...lets face it guys, anyone can sit down for Hours to try and pull a perfect lap.( Not saying those that do TT are not quick, because some of them are). But I have Raced against a fair few of the guys who hold 1st Place TT times and won, its one thing to have all the time in the world to nail a great lap, but can you keep getting really fast time and be racing with others online on the spot( spontanious racing) thats what its all about I think, however TT do have there place, they can be helpful for you to gauge how well you are driving and how quick you are.
If you race on a Random track in random car and you get top 50 in 2or 3 laps, then you know your doing alright lol .

I haven't seen the TEW tagged drivers very often in the WE but one of the few times that I have had the pleasure they were running EVO's like me. I could tell by their pp that they were running full downforce. I don't think their setup was working as I finished 3rd and they were at the back. Once they get the setup correct, I will have my hands full. Dose anyone know what TEW stands for?
