Is there a paint quantity limit?

At 682 paint colors I may well be the closest to finding out, but I was wondering if anyone out there knows of a limit to the number of colors that can be had. No sign of older colors being replaced by newer ones either.

i think its untill you get every single one in the game when you get one it stays there for the entier game

I think if there's a limit in the GT code it's far above the number of paints you can obtain with how the game hands out paint chips.

I imagine the paint limit is the number of different paints they are as, once you get a chip, it's yours forever. Which means, unlike GT5, you only receive the paint once so there doesn't need to be a limit.

Iirc, GT5's item limit applied to all items combined, not a specific item. I hit it more than once, 7000??? I can't remember. I'm thinking it's the same in GT6.

The GT5 limit was 9,999....I remember reading it somewhere on the GT5 section and, yes, the limit was for all combined items. With GT6, the total number of available items is considerably less than GT5.....Racing Gear total for GT6 is, I think, about 80 odd items whereas , in GT5, it is in the hundreds. Also, in GT5 you could own more than one paint chip of a specific colour (I have 10+ of some colours)..in GT6, you only own one of each. Because of this, there is no need for GT6 to have a limit as you are already limited to the maximum number of items there are

And that's the sort of post I was looking for. I'm approaching the 1000 mark (938) and was really counting on that not being the limit. Also good to see that I'm not alone in the quest for all paints. Thanks.
