So it would win on cote d'azur, cape ring, tsukuba, autumn ring ect.

A bugatti would win on ssr7.

And check this..

The veyron would only really pull ahead in the tunnel once it gets a little over 270... Then it reaches the hairpin and the McLaren gets way ahead... Ssr7 would be close.

Deep forest and the above mentioned tracks are very technical and I wouldn't use the McLaren in a serious race on them.

Is the McLaren F1 really that good? I only took mine out for a rip once and didn't like it. I'll have to test it again on the 'Ring to see if my opinion will change since I'm probably a better driver now than I was when I first tried the car.

Yep. It's the most fun with SH tires.

Any handling problem can be fixed with a wing and a good set of tires

My McLaren F1 struggles to reach 250MPH and yes my transmission is tuned properly to 267MPH (to allow slipstream in the ratios)
How fast does yours go and what's your ratios/max speed set at?
It struggles to keep up with the Bugatti on the SSR7.

The hairpin isn't very hard for the Bugatti to be honest, so I don't believe the Mclaren can take advantage.

Drop all weight, max out power, NO downforce... The stock tranny is at at least 280. It can draft a veyron to over 270 if you get it right

I'm a proud owner of 2 McLaren F1s... But I'm wondering, is there any (tuned) road car that can stand toe to to with a tuned McLaren F1 on any track?

If you equalize by PP, then yes there are plenty of cars as fast as the F1. If you're talking all out performance, fully tuned, I have no idea but I'm sure there are some cars that are close. The Tommy Kaira ZZ is a beast fully tuned, 1000kgs, 4wd and with race car downforce. It could give the F1 a run for it's money.

Post some laptimes for the fully tuned F1 to give us something to shoot for. Someone posted a 2:15 I believe at Spa. Fully tuned I would think the F1 is well under 2:10 as are a lot of fully tuned "street' cars.

At the 'ring (nordschlief) during my training sessions before the 24h, I got under 6:10

Edit: I don't have Spa
I don't use PP system

Ford GT test car will at same PP with Dodge viper Race car not too far off

I can run 2.04 at spa 650PP in Macca and GT Test car !

Those are race cars, and I don't give a **** about the PP system... On Le sarthe, those cars will get slautered

Fully tuned Veyron with a good driver will destroy that F1

bhahaha. The Veyron won't be able to beat the F1 on any decent track(meaning a track that has corners).

I've got an F1 tuned except for engine stage 1-3 (738 HP, 970 kg, 654 PP), and I'm about 4 seconds faster on Trial Mountain on a similarly tuned '06 GT (840 HP, 1203 kg, 655 PP) on Sport Soft tires. My '09 GT-R Spec V at 640 PP (803 HP, 1362 kg) is also faster on the sport softs on TM.

Any other tracks you have laptimes for?

McLaren F1 has no turbo option and engine tuning has a MAJOR effect on this car. Obviously, you turbo/supercharged the other two

Edit:
I've had a sub-3:15 time on le sarthe during Le Mans 24h

Mines is fully modified so it's got all the weight stages.

I understand how the downforce will affect the overall speed, but how is the cornering when the downforce is low?
Will that be compromised or is there little difference? I don't want my car to have its handling abilities disadvantaged, because I rarely use the car on the SSR7 or similar top end speed tracks.

Also another question which links to the one before, is the car better with the wing or without?

Yes but your question is about the McLaren F1 in the game, and whats in the game - is in the game, it can't be changed. There are options for turbo/superchargers for some cars and some don't, that's just how it is.
racer's tried to get the specs to match and balance all the cars and is just showing his results to answer your question, which he has done, sort-of.
So really racer is just proving a point.

The only way you can compare these cars is if you either max all of them out or keep them all stock.

On SSR7, the car is best without DF, it will still out turn the veyron. The car NEEDS a wing on any other track... In fact, the McLaren F1 had a very popular factory aerodynamics package that had a wing and a modified nose!

I assume ZZII and what about the MP4?

I believe the viper ACR would do very well on faster tracks and even nurb. I've heard they can do it in 6:00 but I've never tried. Plus it has almost 200 more hp, and decent downforce.

The F1's little brother doesn't stand a chance... Not fast enough, maneuvering is a MAYBE...

I haven't tried the ZZ2 yet

Edit: the ACR is fast, but aerodynamic drag and heavy weight go against it.. There is also too much understeer... Also, anything the ACR can do, the ZR1 can do better...

No, that's not the only way, it's just your way. I haven't maxxed my multiple F1 tunes because I like them the way they are. Because the available power from a "max tune" is pretty arbirtrary in GT (really, how do they decide what power bumps a given mod gives a given car?) it's a fair practice to use something like PP to create as even of a comparison as possible.
