i'm racing in the F1 series at the end of the PROFESSIONAL right now. i can't beat some of the races. so, my question is: can i skip TWO of the races and still win the car at the end?

If you win the other 8, 80 points is enough to beat 8x6+2x10=68.

I think the Most you can skip in a series race is TWO, but you have to come in 1st all the time.

can anybody second that? i want to be sure. this series has taken me forever to get this far (race #7).

The thing is - if you want your 100%, you've got to win them eventually....

Best Advice Ever:tup: To vat_man.

I Skipped Some and i ended up doing all of them again.

I'd suggest you win every race. I know that it is long and enduring, but if you skip races or don't get golds on them, you are going to have to do them again anyway, so you better get it done the first time so you don't have to do that.

i want to skip them because i have the 9040/s. it isn't good enough for some coarses, like laguna seca. that one i want to skip. i'll do it again later when i get a better F1 car.

In a ten race series, you can skip two races, win the rest, and be guarenteed the series win. However, it is possible to skip more and win the series if the same opponent does not always finish behind you.

i've skipped 4 races in a series of 10 and still won. you just have to make sure that the AI cars come in at different positions each time to distribute the points evenly :O

If you want to win every race, and this is somewhat cheap, you'll enter/exit the series until the F94/S is not in the lineup. I was able to take the series pretty easy in the F90/S against the rest of the F1 cars, including the F94/H.

I have to agree with the merits of completing (and winning) each race in your ultimate quest toward 100%. However, I understand the need to skip a race now and again--whether to merely expedite a series or to venture through a series multiple times to win the full line of prize cars.

Another little trick you might employ is preventing the opposition from scoring 10 points for a victory in a race that you exit from. By qualifying on the pole, starting the race, and exiting the race before it actually starts, you ensure that the winner will only get 6 points. (You do not get any points as you did not run the race.)

However, by winning any six races that you complete you will have 60 points. The runner up, netting only six points per race can score at most 60 points. In this scenario, and you'll have to pay attention, you will have to win seven races. But, if said runner up gets fewer than 6 points in any race, you can win the series by running only six races. ;)

You still need to go back and pick up the races you skipped, but if you run the series multiple times and skip different races each time, you can pick up more prize cars, not to mention the $$ purse, without having to pick up single races or win all the races in one series. Your win % will suffer, but your garage and bank will not.

Note that you will also not have the satisfying challenge of using your driving skill to win a series on a run down (oil) car. :(

Good luck Jay, and welcome to GTP!

thanks.

let me get this straight. if i qualify, even in 6th, start a race, and exit before it starts, the most points an opponent can get is 6?

This is an ugly “trick” but can help if you struggle
I f you don’t want to be passed in the overall standing and you know you cant win a specific race DON’T QUIT let the other car pass you and start harass the runner up (bumping him throwing him out and even throw him to the pit :) ) Once he’s behind QUIT you will awarded zero point but the other cars will be awarded points based on there current place (the runner up will get only 2 point)
This off course won’t allow him to take much lead over you.

I’m not proud telling that but I used to do that in my FIRST run of GT3
Good Luck

Skip the last three or four (If you did it right ;)) races and then do them later with fresh oil! :D

Race most of them, save the game after every one. You can continue the race another time, another day. When you get to the last race, make that's your 2nd skip, because here's a good trick. Just start the race, quit, and try for the throphy car, if the car isn't the one you want, restart, and start the race again, and then quit. Try again for another throphy car, until you get what you want of course. If you have another memory card, get the car, save to another card, go back to the last race, quit that, get another car, save to the other card, and repeat. Get what I mean?

Change some settings on the F090/s and you should be able to win on Laguna Seca pretty easily. I beat each race in that series with the F090/s and the AI was never even close. Im not sure if the F094/s was among the AI when I did it, but it would not have made a difference.

(Took a while to get a fast setup for Laguna, but once I got it, then it was really easy)

yes i can second that. as long as you keep your eyes on the number of points you have you should be fine.

i one won a series by only doing 5 out of the 10 races... :D

ah but then you don't get the prize car.

can you complete gt to 100% if u do all the races but not the series?

I shouldn't think so because you need the little gold trophy icon in the 'Series Race' bit.

Yeh, you just have to get a gold in the "series" thingo, and then it doesn't matter which races you skip, as long as you go back and win them (you can do it separately).

Not quite. You need to qualify in first place, a.k.a. qualifying in the 'pole position'.
