That I am a huge fan of Ferrari cars, yet Lewis Hamilton is by far my favorite driver? Can you honestly be a fan of both? lol.

My favourite driver is Sebastian Vettel, and my favourite team is McLaren. You're not the only one. :)

I root for Timo Glock, but I also want BMW to succeed. It's perfectly normal; not every team and driver combination can draw devout fans.

I've been obsessed with Ferrari since when I was 4, but my favourite driver is Robert Kubica.

I wouldn't consider it weird. At all.

Same for all of you over the past few years, except it's come together now.

McLaren-Mercedes, Hamilton.

Hell Yes.

This is the first year I haven't supported anyone out right.

I'm trying that, bar Vettel, but I find myself wanting the Ferraris to win and MClaren to do as bad as possible, Alonso to do well, and the toyotas to do well.

I generally support Button because everyone jumped off the Buttonwagon the moment Hamilton started looking good.

That and Hamilton is seemingly a corporate prick. Although Button isnt much better but for different reasons, hes a bit more like-able.
My fave drivers personality wise are Vettel, Webber, Trulli, Kovalainen, Kubica and Massa.
My fave drivers to watch actually driving are Hamilton, Alonso and Massa.
My fave teams I root for at the moment are Honda, Toyota and Toro Rosso.

So, generally, I like to see Massa win, but I enjoy Hamilton's wins sometimes too and I like to see people like Vettel do well and Honda catch 1 or 2 points when they can.
This season has been very good for that actually, a very tight pack overall with only Williams and Force India being left behind.

Yeah, I've been rooting for Timo because a lot of people think he didn't deserve a seat in F1. It's not as if four races in the 2004 Jordan is much of a way to show your talent, never mind that it's rare that anyone gets a second chance in F1 these days (Alex Wurz was an exception to the rule).

Otherwise, I'm not a big fan of being a fan of any particular driver or team. I sort of pick a title winner, a darkhorse, and a no-hoper, sand see what happens...

Yeah, JB can be an ass when he wants to be. I just always liked the guy because he was the youngest in the field when he started and even though it wasn't a stellar debut, I was about fourteen or fifteen at the time, so I went for the younger guy. Everyone getting off his bandwagon when Hamilton came along only made me stay longer.

Yeah. I'm stubborn like that.

I don't get it...I see a bunch of people dissing Hamilton for stupid reasons. What has Hamilton done to deserve all the hate? All he's done is set himself up to win.

If I had british pride I'd support button. Brits support hamilton because hes good.

Not because he's in a good car perhaps? If he was in a Honda, you would barely hear about him.

I met Jenson once. Bloody nice fella, was when he was JV's teammate :)

If Lewis was at Honda and Jenson at Mclaren I seriously doubt the support would be anywhere similar, you know the average brits

'OH MY ******* GOD! WE MIGHT ACTUALLY WIN SOMETHING!'

Alot of us brits here at GTP are different, however.

Stupid reasons? I think James Allen is reason enough to hate something, lol.

I dont think anyone here will fault him for his driving, but personality wise...the guy's got too much snob in him.

Change Hamilton for Alonso and you'll sound like me. :)

Except that this year at Renault he hasn't really set himself up to win. Seems like he is waiting for a call from Ferrari. Not that he isn't giving his all in the Renault, I doubt anyone could do much better in that car.

Indeed, this year I've really appreciated Alonso a lot more because he pushes that car all the way, every race. No nonsense this year too, just got his head down and tried to make the most of it.
Again, I dont really like his personality still, but it provides a good battle sometimes when he starts pushing even more because of someone getting in his way or annoying him for whatever reason.

In other words, I see Alonso as a great character in the F1 circus and very entertaining to watch. Completely the opposite to Raikkonen.

I agree completely in regards to Alonso, but I also enjoy watching Raikkonen on the track.

Any specifics as to why he's a "snob"?

Just comes across to me in his demeanor and his apparent attitude to his incidents with other drivers in his interviews. Perhaps snob is not the right word, maybe arrogant or ignorant is better.
Whatever, point is, some people dont exactly praise Hamilton's personality, but his driving is top notch 👍

He has a great personality and really is an F1 star. Yeah, his driving is amazing for a rookie and is looking to win this years championships.

But what do you mean about his attitude?

That is absolutely false. Many of our members at FChat have met him in person in LA, and they all say he's extremely nice, and loves to talk about cars. No snobbery at all.
