Just got the call from the EB games in Munster Indiana that my copy is in, going to pick it up in a bit !!!!

I just called my local eb, and the manager said he was driving to houston to go pick up the shipment and it wont be till 630 pm. BAH!

I don't know what it is about Gamestop, but the two stores out where I live (Santa Cruz, CA) won't have the game till later on tonight...I was told around 5pm or 6pm...One of the employees at one of the stores said this...

"Yeah! We should have it later tonight between say 5 & 6pm!"..."I'm having one of my 'guys' (Probably a co-worker or something but I'm sure the guy wanted to sound like he's the man or something over there! LOL!) go pick it up...

Guess I should have asked 'where' this 'guy' was going to go pick it up from...L.A. or something? I mean, the store just opened up about an hour or so...so for it to take damn near 6-7 hours to get the game, one can only imagine where someone has to 'go' to get it from? LOL!

Oh well... I just may call in sick tonight!


Side Note: I also cruised by a local Toys R' US & they had this big sign that said...
"GT4...Reserve your copy now...Arriving in stores on 2/24/05! OUCH!
I was like "DAMN!"...two days after the release date! OH well!

I then proceeded next door to a Circuity City & I over heard a salesmen telling this young guy who said they (Circuity City) wasn't getting the game delivered until 2/24/05 as well. I overheard part of the conversation and then butted in and told the young guy..."If you want a copy today, head on over to Gamestop over at the mall at around 5 or 6 tonight...they'll have it for! Just get there a wee-bit early cuz lord knows how many copies they got & how many people are due to show up & who didn't pre-order...He was like 'cool!'..thanks!

Just called my local EB where I reserved a copy. They have to go pick copies up from another EB location at 6pm. I just hope the traffic isnt too bad so I can get it before they close at 8pm. :\

I did not reserve and EBgames is "reserve only" but they are getting there's at 2pm. Game stop has 18 unreserved and will get'em sometime between 5-6 here. To me it doesnt matter cuz at 2 i woulda been at work but I get off at 5ish. So i'll have mine today. yah.

But think of it as "last minute marketing scheme". Rather than showing you a commercial on every channel (I have yet to see a GT4 commercial ), they set a release date and delay pre-sales. They know exactly what they're doing.
