We also have the Beetle (Not the Same One)But you get the Idea.
Now COnvert That Veyron
andreaI don't want to go off topic but I hope they premium the Sauber Mercedes C9 soon.
i'm happy to pay for interesting cars like the Jag, and i personally don't care about the veyron, infact i sold mine, that car just does not interest me
I'd like to see the "real" race cars made into premiums, none of this "concept race car", or "prototype" BS.
Is this the moment where complaint about Standard getting Premium treatment begins? Full-circle again?
Oh GTP, you're so funny![]()
maddog999Extremely pleased the XJR9 is being made premium. An absolutely brilliant car. using a massive V12 instead of the turbo'd engines of the other cars of the era, (which were faster in qualifying trim). Did pretty well too, being at a time when Jaguar did pretty well in sportscar racing with their link to TWR, and some well known F1 designers.
I thought Kaz mentioned he wanted to release a few upgraded Standard cars. I think he said something like "There were a lot of cars I wanted to be premium but didn't have the time to model them." And then someone asked him if he was going to release some premium versions of some standard models and he said that he was going to.
I hope the Spyker C8 and the Mazda Furai and the Jag XF become premiums.
I donno, I'm kind of on the fence about it. On one hand it does take effort on their part to model a nice, detailed premium car. But on the other hand the car is already in the game and should have been modeled like this from the start instead of having the "Standard" and "Premium" divide. I don't think I'd pay for a pack of standard cars that should have looked that way from the start but tossing one or two in with a pack of new cars isn't that bad I guess.
I hope that does happen!andreaI don't want to go off topic but I hope they premium the Sauber Mercedes C9 soon.

haha I love this statement Kaz made before GT5 released. It's in Dmarc's sig.I think I remeber that. But in a later interview he said he would make new cars instead of converting standards to premiums.
I never understood why people say it "should have been like that in the first place".If it could have been it would have. They arent mircale workers.
Its like saying im not buying a new flat screen tv because my black white 10inch tv shouldve been a flatscreen from the beginning. Things takes time to develop.
But I can see how paying for standard conversion could be an issue. For me it really depend on which car is being converted. But 5 dollars for 6 new cars you cant beat that.
Well the reason I say so is because many a time Kaz has mentioned that they were going to do them all but they didn't have the time. If they had the time they would have done them all and the game would still have been sold at $60. Instead they didn't have the time, game sold at $60 and now one is going into DLC you have to pay for.I never understood why people say it "should have been like that in the first place".If it could have been it would have. They arent mircale workers.

At the end of the day better looking cars is always a good thing though.GTP: There has been much discussion and debate in GTPlanets community regarding GT5s Standard and Premium cars. Could you explain how you came to the decision of which cars would be Premium and which would remain Standard, such as the Bugatti Veyron?
KY: It wasnt a matter of making a decision, we just didnt have time to do it!

Generally speaking, I'm not a fan of paying for standards to get upgraded to premiums, meaning I won't buy the DLC.(usually)
My main question, and this is very important to the integrity of the GT series future as a whole - Will the Jaguar drive differently then the standard, or is GT still using old physics and simply copying and pasting old physics under a prettier shell?
To me, this will be a groundbreaking revolution, one way or the other.
If it drives the same as the standard, that tells me everything I need to know about how much effort PD is putting into realism.
If it drives differently, then I can consider that PD is actually putting serious work into how cars perform and drive in their games.
Can't wait to see either way.

It's more about incorrect car parameters. The standards run the same engine as the premiums though... there should be no difference.
If it drives differently, nothing to complain about, from a factual perspective. It would mean PD re-calculated the physics parameters for the car.I am sure you and others are. I also expect a thread complaining about this very thing no matter which way it goes.
