People want the Veyron, until we get a pack of all of the Veyron’s variants and special editions, then they’ll complain that it’s just a pack of Veyrons; too much Veyron. Sigh.

I just thought, I have 3 of the Jaguars. I hope this doesn't replace the standard one completely, but if it does then it better replace 3 with 3 and not con me out of 2 cars. Granted 2 cars Wow what a loss, but these cars are not cheap and I suspect the 2.03 update will stop the multiple grinding of B Spec Seasonals.

Actually i also have a problem with this.
Now, i didn't complain about premiums before(maybe the choice in cars), as they didn't have those cars already in the game. But since it is a standard being upgraded, i am bothered that we have to pay for it, as it leaves the door open for other standards getting upgraded, and we have to pay for it when it's already in the game.
If it's a new car i understand, but as its a standard to premium, it bothers me, as you would think these cars would be free in the updates.

However, i hope this doesn't become a trend, and thankfully we are getting more NEW cars in the game.

Until someone looks at the code, we can only assume it's a new car that's been modeled from the ground up but wasn't finished in time.

At least, that's what I'm gonna tell myself before I sleep at night.

I would love to buy the DLC for the Aventor but I really dont like the thought of paying to upgrade standards to premium so I will have to pass on buying the car pack so that I can get my point across as I think I did not buying the last DLC.

Bought the first because of the tracks and some of the RM convertions and I will probably buy the tracks on this one but paying for the 2012 japonise city car of the year or the German city car of the year 1961 or for the convertion of the Jag? why not put the honda NSX on the DLC wich is obviously finished and offer the jag?

Even so there where other cars almost finished when GT5 was released... why not release the honda hsv-010 gt, Im sure its finished by now (it was almost finished in 2010),

Hmmm, yeah, i hope you're right.

What I'm curious about is, if it is in fact the same car, how will it be inserted into the game? Will the standard version be "removed" from the car list (so to speak) and everyone who owns one automatically have it converted to a Premium?

Or will they leave both knocking around the game?

I'm sure it'll be included in the Premium dealership, and the Standard will still be offered in the UCD. Here's hoping it's aleast a new livery.

That's another question i was about to ask. I'm assuming they keep both, but if it is the exact same car, what is the point of a standard model? But do they have two same cars in game? One in standard and premium? And i mean exact model?

In this instance, it appears that the answer is "to get the freakin game out the freakin door". Remember the uproar when the release date was pushed back?

Maybe the XJR-9 has new livery. Just saying. Seriously though the Leaf? Why???

Yes. Since they have removed the Silk Cut sponsor (Why? I don't know). Maybe the other Castrol livery, I like it more anyhow.

I love the car. A Group C beast. this & the Beetle have me buying the pack day one.

Now if only there was the 24 Hours of Daytona....

Silk Cut is a cigarette company.

I would personally prefer the Castrol-liveried 24-hours of Daytona winner even if the Le Mans winning car was allowed to keep its livery, but I doubt that is what we will be getting.

I think he meant "why leave both of them in there after the premium model is made"

That'd be awesome. Well, that and a Herbie RM option for the beetle.

Easy answer as to why we'll have both versions of the XJR-9: for those who don't buy the DLC.

Also, we very well could get a new livery. That'd certainly add incentive to upgrade to the Premium.

We've already bought the standard XJR9. I'm wondering whether the DLC XJR9 would be counted as a new car. If so, it's quite expensive! It's better to just change our current XJR9' standard model to the premium one.

But, there are already a few cars with both a Standard and Premium version. The simple answer would be that they're two completely different vehicle models, meaning the Premium XJR-9 was probably built from scratch and it's really hard to remove something from a game through DLC.

I would expect it to be the Castrol Scheme, but we will all find out next week. If not I get to see the Castrol car the follow week anyways

I'm also the sicko that like to have all 4 paint schemes of the Mark IV at 20,000,000 a piece.

Didn't the Le Mans winning XJR-9s had the LM designation while the car that competed every other event was referred to without the LM?

Yes, it's the same car. But it's more than "upgrading". The quality of Premium cars is so much better, that they probably had to do the car from scratch anyway.

Some Standard cars deserve to be Premium, like this one, but we can leave milions of GT-R's and MX-5's away. Just a few most important versions to be Premium, like we don't have the MX-5 NB Premium yet or the first GT-R from 1970's, but leave the rest behind. That's my opinion.

They should do maybe one of each model Skyline premium. I would love a premium '73 Skyline. But I agree they should model some other premium cars instead.

This has already been mentioned, and the rational that followed is this: Think of it as $1 per car with a free Premium XJR

Regardless of the reasoning, I'm glad some Standards are being "upgraded" (depending on the modeling and timeframe, the term "upgraded", I feel, should be used loosely), and hope more are in the works.

Big thanks to those that have already posted here for not turning this into a gripe thread. Amar, thanks for pointing out how quickly this could've turned down that path. I think your post alone saved a few posts, lol. Great job keeping the discussion mature and polite.

And PD, SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!

Add a coked-up Lindsay Lohan driver outfit and I'll buy a dozen!

The outfit would be a distraction for other drivers  I would like female avatars on GT5. Personalized Female suits. Please PD? :D

I do agree female drivers and avatars should be added. It's only fair since there are females who race in real life and ones who play the game too.
