I do agree female drivers and avatars should be added. It's only fair since there are females who race in real life and ones who play the game too.

+>9000
And the RM Herbie version thingie better grind guardrails and ride on fences.

Can we have customizable hair, glasses, eyes, ears, noses, and the whole nine yards too?
I'd hate to not be able to fully dress up, since we're playing the sims now.:dopey:

Mr. Potato-Bob

Now there is gonna be a racesuit-livery-editor outcry in the wishlist forums. :scared: It all began so innocently.... just wanted some boobs tacked onto the bobs.

We've already bought the standard XJR9. I'm wondering whether the DLC XJR9 would be counted as a new car. If so, it's quite expensive! It's better to just change our current XJR9' standard model to the premium one.

When you buy the dlc all of the cars are in the car delivery. So you wont have to rebuy the XJR in game.
As for it handling just like the standard ... I dont think they took the standard model and slapped a cover on it .. that would actually take longer to do than making it from scratch judging from the amount of detail they put into premiums it would make sense to start with a new mesh or from stratch.
Just use the cars that already have both standard and premium counterparts to see if they " handle" differently you already have your answer.

What about the Chaperell 2J is there going to be a separate premium from the standard model.

I never understood why people say it "should have been like that in the first place".If it could have been it would have. They arent mircale workers.
Its like saying im not buying a new flat screen tv because my black white 10inch tv shouldve been a flatscreen from the beginning. Things takes time to develop.
But I can see how paying for standard conversion could be an issue. For me it really depend on which car is being converted. But 5 dollars for 6 new cars you cant beat that :sly: .

That isn't the same at all, the technology to create a modern TV didn't exist when a 10 inch black and white TV was sold. On the other hand PD had the means to create PS3 quality cars but instead included 800 PS2 quality cars. For that reason I don't see why we should pay extra to get a PS3 quality car in a PS3 game. It really should have been that way to begin with, just like every other game of this generation.

There should be a few more cars coming to GT5 and GT6 from the Goodwood event on Gran Turismo TV.

On standards to premium, I'd pay to get Honda EG6 and 93 Nissan Primera(Infinity G20) both with RM treatment.

Same here, a premium P10 with RM treatment would be awesome for me, but then I'm biased as I'm a Primera/G20 fanboy lol

With $4 for 5 Standard -> 811 standard cars to premium -> Morgage ->

If they upgrade all their cars, then GT5 becomes an quiet expensive game.

I'd like to have the GT-ONE converted to premium... But the Jag is fine as well.

I don't even have the standard one yet.

Would be nice to know if there'll be differences between the standard and premium XRJ-9, physic-wise. Maybe they'll implement the same physic model from the premium to the standard Jaguar, who knows...

I hope you're not making fun of the Female avatar idea. Because all it would be, is having the chest raise out a bit, and make the person slimmer in shape. Because we won't see the face anyone.

I think if they just didn't include standard cars and never gave us a super-high car count advertised this would be a non-issue.

So what's the point?
Why slimmer? My Avatar is pretty thin, idk about yours.
But seriously, we need an identical avatar with some hair sticking out (cause we assume all women have long hair) and some boobies?
Really?

True, but they did. I just don't see the logic in paying money for the quality that we should have had in the first place. This isn't like any of the other things people think we should have had in the game to start with, nobody can deny that a PS3 game should ship with PS3 quality assets. Therefore paying extra to upgrade to PS3 quality details doesn't seem right to me.

But if they didn't include the standard cars the game would have been pretty hollow. Come on PD has to make money somehow in a world still struggling in a recession. Besides, PD's hand in DLC is forced as they are sony's direct property. If you got issues about DLC, take it up with the puppeteer, not the puppet.

PD have plenty of ways to make money, updating assets in a PS3 game to PS3 quality is not it. No other game is doing this or would get away with it.

As for blaming Sony well you have no evidence whatsoever that Sony are pulling the strings and telling PD what to release and how much for. People around here seem to paint PD and Kaz in particular as saints who are only in it for the love and the profiteering schemes are all down to Sony when in reality they're using cheap, money grabbing tactics like selling paint items and assets that should have been in the game to start with.

Well to you it isn't, but to them it is. And you can't really provide evidence PD's inner workings either. Are kaz and pd saints? No.

And PD has to take some orders from Sony. It was Sony who really wanted 3D remember, so why is it far fetched for Sony to manipulate Dlc prices? You obviously don't like DLC so why keep moaning about it when others are not too bothered? I'm buying it, but if you don't want to that's fine. But to say Sony has no control over Dlc is asinine.

These are corporations, whose primary objective is profits, not to make you feel justified. If you wanna talk about price gouging than look no further than the oil corporations.

Isn't that what a forum is for, opinions? I'm not moaning about anything, moaning is "OMG this DLC is too expensive and it sucks". I'm just saying what I think of it in a constructive manner with reasoning.

I also think people need to take a stand against things like this. People were rightfully up in arms about the issues with the first DLC pack, PD listened and made the right changes. Although this is only one car in a pack I feel we should be making PD aware in general that paying extra money to get cars in the quality they should have been in to begin with isn't on. Putting 800 PS2 quality cars in the game in the first place was bad enough, asking up to pay more money to replace them with proper versions is just a slap in the face as far as I'm concerned.

Otherwise they're just going to continue down this slippery slope and before you know it we'll be paying for all sorts of ridiculous things.

Saying that you were moaning about was harsh, I apologize, but the way GT5 was made without much knowledge being shown about it, we can't really criticize PD for doing what the rest of the industry is doing. Would I love it if PD gave free stuff? Hell yeah.

But they are a business first and foremost in an environment in which technology keeps evolving, forcing how business is done to evolve also. It may be a slippery slope, but slipper slopes are just assumptions also.

Stay on topic. If you want to debate the ethics of DLC, there are better threads for that. If you want to discuss cars going from Standard to Premium, you're in the right place. Before you go any further, read the previous posts, please.

Who made you a mini mod? The thread title is 'Jan. 18 DLC Question- Standard to Premium?', that is what i'm discussing, the offering of standard to premium upgrades as DLC.

Comments like this are what Amar was worried about.

Your attitude will carry you far in life.

Closing this thread before anymore illiterate twinks join in with their off topic BS nonsense.
