JGTC S1 Season Series

McLaren F1GTR
I agree. The Honda is best too allow in the GT300 class. It keeps up and probably beats alot of the cars in the GT300 class.

The purple and yellow Toyota is in, is it not? Curiousity.

But glad to see this series becoming very popular. 👍

True! At least now, we are starting to see enough people interested,so we can have a full field...and it grow by the day, looks like an avg of at least 2-3 signed on in the past day.

Too bad they dont have that car in the game...The lamborghini that is (I was talking about your avatar)

Yep, I did some test drive with the car and it's almost pure orgasm to drive! :p The sound, high revs, great handling...pretty much a complete package. But the car will be underpowered a little to make it even with the rest of the pack.

That car is not available in arcade mode, though is it?
I didnt see it,unless you have to purchase it first?

Exact, you must buy it first in GT mode at 450,000$ to unlock it in Arcade mode. And what's great about this car you can choose from 3 colors when you race it. :sly:

Thought so, no problem here 👍
very,very cool!
Dont know how you planning on doind the teams, and the car picks but...if we get the choice ,I think I just might have mine....maybe! :)

Just wondering how about the Oreca Viper for the GT500 class? Its quite even compared to the other cars. It might have more power than most cars but I believe it weighs a bit more.

Only 50kg over the normal JGTC cars (around 1100kg) and even with the NSX (1150kg) but with 100hp more in average...so that basically equals to no fawking way!!!

Edit : give me until tomorrow to check out if I can underpower it enough and make it even with the rest of the pack

Don't forget, this is the Japan Gran Touring Championship. I don't see why we would be allowing american cars in.

My thoughts exactly. I tested the car and it can be underpowered to run on par with the other cars, but the point here is that we are running a JGTC series like said and only Japanese manufacturers cars should be allowed. I'll have to refuse a spot to the Viper.

I agree.

The JGTC today may have all sorts if cars (C6 Corvette, SRT-10 Viper, etc.), but viper's plan is for all JGTC cars.

Even though there was a F1 GTR that raced in the JGTC at the time of the ones in GT4, but then again, that was a JGTC spec, not a LeMans one.

But let us know when we can start picking cars.
BTW, how many are signed up? Around 20?

I will wait until we have atleast 10 drivers for GT500 and 10 drivers for GT300, making it 10 teams minimum. Right now we have 9 in GT500 and 8 in GT300, but I'm still sure that out of that number some will drop out like always and loose my time. So it's better to start with a little more. 10 teams that's the very lowest minimum for me to start this and get rolling. That makes 20 dedicated drivers who will race the series from start to finish. Do you think we'll achieve that? 20 dedicated people are hard to come by these days! I hope you guys prove me wrong. ;)

Well, maybe you could set a date to your self personally, and then when however many people you feel is good enough by or before that date, then you could start.

Oh no worries the date is already set and determined in my little head :)

GT300 Class

Yep that's really great, alot of WRS drivers interested in this so we'll see what you guys are made of. It's all about been fast over and over again non stop to be successful in this series. :sly:

I'd join in on the fun & excitement of this series, but unfortunately I'll be on a long over-due vacation in late July, early August and therefore, due to the following clause:
"Do not show interest if you know you won’t be able to compete for each and every races.."

I'll not be able to compete... :(

Have fun guys and good luck to everyone!

How long are you going to be away? If it's only like 2 weeks it's pretty damm easy to find a replacement driver for 1-2 races, with all the WRS drivers in here I can't believe nobody will accept. Races are on a bi-weekly system. At least you are a smart one and took the time to read the requirements. 👍

I'd love to do this, but if it's bi-weekly and starts the week of the 20th, as you say, then I might end up missing the last two races because of school, and maybe even one week in early August because of vacation.

Missing 1 race and having a backup driver to take your spot that's not really bad. But missing like 4 races (that's half of the season) it's indeed better not to join in that case.

hope this thing getz goin :D

Same here, that's all I'm waiting for. I don't really have any power when it comes to the interest of the people in here so it's pretty much in the members hands if we get rolling or not.

Argh! Oh well, I can always run as an alternate. BTW, how would that work? Would there be a sort of waiting list? Or would the driver missing the race just go ahead and recruit someone?

I think I'm going to use a backup system that if you are a driver and know you won't be able to drive each round but still want to race sometimes you can still join. Been a backup will make you available for any team to pick you up for a substitute in a race. But once you are picked by a team you must stay until the end of the season with the same one. Interested in a spot like that?

Must stay as the back up driver for that team and not be able to drive for another team? Yeah, I think that's a cool idea. It's like the substitute driver is being hired on an exclusive contract.

That keeps a good driver from floating around as a substitute and artificially bloating various team's scores. A substitute driver should be seen as a last resort option to prevent a DNS (do no start).

Of course, it could turn out that sub. is a great driver and the team just gets lucky. It could make for some interesting team strategy.

Good idea!

So when does this plan on starting?

I mean, I can do all the races until September rolls around. Then I have college deals. :indiff:

I think I'm ready to break my GT4 hiatus. Count me in for GT500 (I might be willing to move over to GT300 if we have a deficit of drivers in that class).

When are we going to be able to pick our cars? Ive got about 3 or 4 I'd love to drive (especially the Calsonic Skyline). And, is the series going to be finished before September? Like McLaren, I've got University starting up then (if one or two races runs into September it shouldn't be too big of an issue).

And also thanks to McLaren for advertising the series in his sig; otherwise, I'd have likely never have found it!

   A starting date would be nice, that way we can make plans around it. You can post the race and such at the time you want us to know.

That HONDA s2000 LM is fast for a gt300 class type and handles very well too  Loved it in gt3 :sly:

Sure, I'll do that! I guess you can sign me up as alternate then? And if this matters (which I doubt) then I'd like GT300.

Allright guys, we lost one GT300 driver today but gain some to equal. Looks like we have 2 or so backup drivers also and that's pretty good.

Now next thing to take care of. Alot are telling me this must be done before the start of September so if we go on a bi-weekly setup it just won't be over by that date. I'm ready to run this and organize everything for WEEKLY rounds. Depends on you if you guys agree.

PLEASE ANSWER IN THIS THREAD IF YOU ARE STILL IN FOR WEEKLY ROUNDS

As soon as we all agree on the calendar setup we will start this with a first off-season race to see the skills or everyone (will be done and completed in 3-4 days max) then we make the teams and pick our cars following my rules. Off-season race should be put up during this week, teams and car picking will be done this upcoming weekend and we start ROUND 1 next week. The final schedule will be up during the week also.

You are in for GT300 👍 If we run this weekly you won't miss a thing.

Thanks for your interest man. :sly: Yes we will have to even up the classes if one is missing but right now it looks pretty damm even.

And a big thanks to McLaren F1GTR also for his work 👍
