JGTC S1 Season Series

Weekly rounds will work for me, although I'm probably going to need a backup driver on my team, seeing how I'm going to be going to Ottawa for a week in August, and I might have a week at my cottage randomly pop up at one point or another.

weekly Works for me,no problem...you still plan on having a few days for each round tho, right (A couple to Qualify, and then a couple for race?) That way, it will give the teams mates time to coorinate their runs easier.

All sounds good to me!

Yes, Monday until Wednesday qualifications and then Thursday until Sunday the actual race.

running weekly we are all done about mid august

I'm up for a weekly race schedule, just say the date and i'm there...

I would also like this to get over before september because of college but if it doesn't, it won't make me very sad as i don't have to study very much or put forth too much effort to get good grades.

Great the hear the positive feedbacks this mean we will start this sooner. Check the first post again since there's some modifications that have been made. The racing schedule is now also up. 👍

Weekly is OK for me, also i would like to start ASAP cos at the end of august i have some plans (far from the PS2 ;) )

Allright guys, we lost one GT300 driver today but gain some to equal. Looks like we have 2 or so backup drivers also and that's pretty good.

Now next thing to take care of. Alot are telling me this must be done before the start of September so if we go on a bi-weekly setup it just won't be over by that date. I'm ready to run this and organize everything for WEEKLY rounds. Depends on you if you guys agree.

PLEASE ANSWER IN THIS THREAD IF YOU ARE STILL IN FOR WEEKLY ROUNDS

As soon as we all agree on the calendar setup we will start this with a first off-season race to see the skills or everyone (will be done and completed in 3-4 days max) then we make the teams and pick our cars following my rules. Off-season race should be put up during this week, teams and car picking will be done this upcoming weekend and we start ROUND 1 next week. The final schedule will be up during the week also.

You are in for GT300 👍 If we run this weekly you won't miss a thing.

Thanks for your interest man. :sly: Yes we will have to even up the classes if one is missing but right now it looks pretty damm even.

And a big thanks to McLaren F1GTR also for his work 👍

That sounds fine with me, I will just need to temporarily stop the WRS to make room but I am IN!

Weekly is great for me, I only expect to miss one week late. Sign me up for GT300!

Little rules update done

- one GT500 and one GT300 driver for each team
- each driver gets his class points, no more average between the two drivers
- races shorten a little since we run this weekly (30 to 40 mins)
- tire wear final to "STRONG"
- no more % of laps for each driver, both race the number from the schedule
- schedule is up, like you can see the number of laps for each round will only be revealed on each wednesday @ 11.59PM ET

The off-season race for both GT500 and GT300 will be posted tomorrow. It's just a hot lap event so it doesn't really take much time to complete. Instructions will be given when I post the thread.

This is not an optional race, if you don't race it and I don't have your time you are out of this series.

We are still missing 1 GT300 driver to make the target of 10 teams so if you know anyone who could be interested well pass the word around. The best would be to have 2-3 more drivers to play safe.

Put me down for the GT300 ... hot604 asked me to join this a couple of weeks ago and I declined, but the WRS has bored me recently, so I'll happily get back into a damned car designed to grip and race.

Driver Name : Kolyana
Racing Class : GT300

Great that you came back on your decision. 👍 This will be alot of fun, guaranteed.

Yeah ... I was really tempted a couple of weeks ago, but I wanted to dedicated my time to the WRS and that way I couldn't do you or this event any justice. It's surprising what 2 weeks of duff cars and tracks will do for ones resolve ... give me some damned tire grip and SPEED any day of the week.

Yeah I saw that Superbird challenge this week  JGTC cars are so much fun to drive. Even bone stock in Arcade Mode with sticky tires they hook and grip like there's no tomorrow. This should be a very intense series. Like said before if this season runs pretty smooth I have plans to host multiple seasons until the next GT release.

Just wanted to understand this,sorry...so are you going to be the one picking the teams, and the cars?
If you would rather not say that info right now, thats cool, just wanted to understand how this was going to work. Or is it going to be based off of the first-off season race?

Thanks, Rob23

Teams will be made by you guys after the off-season race. Car picking will be done on a lottery system. Each team will get a number from 1 to 10, then the two drivers will agree on who's going to pick his car depending on what's left in the selection of both class. A second round of lottery will after take place based on the same system.

I've never raced with the "force pit" option on ... is it like the time penalty; AI car rams you from behind and *you* get the penalty? :ouch:

And I have read your first posts a couple of times, but let's say you have 3 wheels off the track due to an unforeseen slide or something on lap 27 ... I assume that the game doesn't force a pit for that, so what are your rules? Would this be an illegal run?

I just drove around with "force pit" option to test some situations. The gay thing is that it gives you a penalty if you accidently crash and hit the wall...which is not really what I wanted. The "time penalty" thing is real junk because even if it slows you down for a couple of seconds I know people will block the AI behind them to restart in front. So I think we have no choice now but to use NONE and ask the drivers to race clean without using the AI cars to turn.

For sure if you go off the racetrack during a qualification it's a no good lap. But if it's during the actual race, it's not the same since those are normal racing battles and errors. Like I said in the rules you must use the Standard Online Racing rules when ever it's possible.

Oh, I'm sad to see the "force pit" penalty removed. :(

Same here but it's just way too stupid to get a penalty because you went off track and hit the wall, you already lost some time in your accident and on top you must go through the pits. I thought it was only giving penalties when you bumped an AI car since I never tested to hit the wall on purpose!!! They should have putted an option for penalties only on car contacts. :indiff:

That sucks.

Well, hopefully, we can trust our racers to race cleanly. I know we understand that sometimes, the racers may get into some situations with the AI, but that's ok, imo. Provides some great racing.

At this rate, we might have at least 8-10 more people by Friday. :dopey:

And let's not forget we are on our first season, so this is pretty much a learning process. We will see with time what should be improved or modified to make this the best possible. We can tweak the rules and regulations at any time also.

if you hit or bump a wall in real life racing more often than not you need to go to the pit for some repair work. Why not leave it on?

Like said before we are only starting in this so we can try different options for sure. If you guys want it still on we can start the season with it no problemo. I'm not doing the rules and stuff only on my side, I listen to the other drivers also to have their point of view. 👍

viper, did you get my PM? I'm waiting on your reply before I can say either way. Thanks 👍

Oh and I would agree with the forced pit option, provided you don't get penalized if a) the AI slams into the back of you and b) grass excursions without contact are not penalized (I haven't tested this so I don't know). If you hit the wall or another car too hard, you would normally be out of the race, so I think a forced pit entry to simulate repairs (at the very least) makes sense.
