I'm very sorry to hear that...:nervous:

Joey, I hope you get to feeling better and that your knee surgery goes well. I wish you and your friend a full and speedy recovery.

I also hope the person that was in the SRT4 lives, so that they can wise up and tell others not to make the same mistake he or she made.

It's a pity that the F-150 and most likely the snowmobiles were wrecked, but the most important thing is that Joey and his friend are going to be okay.

Great news!

I'm glad to hear he's doing better. Having a good sense a humor does help with recovery, so tell him to hang in there.

Since he'll have his laptop, I suppose he'll be here within the next day or two.

Hope he gets on soon. It'll be boring without his cranky ass in here.

And yes, I bet his hatred for Neons burns even brighter now.

I do hope the kid who hit him is still young enough for this to leave an impression, and to stop. An acquaintance got T-Boned by a street racer a few years (bitter irony, this guy was there to watch the races). He got a broken shoulder, but the street racer (biker) died. The guy who hit him was drag racing at the time, had his license revoked, and four previous accidents. Some guys just can't stop.
 
That's terrible news, at least he's in good spirits about it though.

Make sure he knows everyone here is thinking of him.

Oy, that sucks... I guess that's good news besides the Knee surgery. I'm glad it's going well. An SRT-4 and a Mini... wtf?! :odd: What idiots. I hope the guy in the hospital with Joey is the guy driving the SRT-4 so when he wakes he can be told he's an absolute ****ing idiot and then locked up. Have his ass plastered on t.v. that he lost to a Mini. :rolleyes: That's also good to hear he's anti-street racer and also lectures about it. 👍

And to think, I used to go to street races. I'm glad I stopped going.

I hope Blazin's knee replacement goes well. I don't know him that well, but any surgery in general is rough.

Knee replacement blows. Joey, MAKE SURE you have the best friggin' doctor in the world. Once they take out too much cartilage or scrape up the bone, you're screwed. My anatomy teacher's friend has severe knee problems. They screwed up his surgery by messing with the bone, so none of his cartilage can grow back now. They predict they'll have to amputate his knees off by the time he gets to be super-old. :(

Good to hear that joe mostly all good and recovering. Another ironic thing is that joe was just lecturing us about F-150 trucks. Hate to say it but if he was in a audi avant he probably wouldnt have turned over 3 times.

Since I stopped street racing, over 5 years ago, I've had a chance to step back and look at the real cost of it all. Idiots who illegally race in any public area deserve whatever happens to them, but too often the bad things happen to innocent bystanders.

Depends on the accident. If he was hit side on and, say, rolled down an embankment, or clobbered the start of a railing that flipped the car, then any car would've rolled, and the size of the F-150 probably helped keep him safe a bit. If it just fell on to its side and kept going over and over, then maybe he would've been better off in the Audi.

All depends on how his car was hit - angles and speed and such - and where the truck went after the initial impact.

Thank god Blazin and his friend will pull through. Its a shame about his knee, but at least he's alive. And I do hope the guy driving the SRT-4 pulls through; only if he can learn from this though. Otherwise, he'll just race again, and could potentially kill some other unlucky person(s).

I'm glad I wasn't the only one thinking about the cars racing. But a Mini vs. an SRT-4 is nothing. I remember watching the news in Toronto a few years back, when some poor pedestrian got killed by two people racing. The cars involved were a Jeep Grand Cherokee and a minivan of some sort... :dunce:
 
Good to hear Blazin and his friend are going to be OK. Blazin's an invaluable member of this community (even though we don't always agree on things :) ). Shame his trip has been messed up by such a stupid accident.

Get well soon Joey and I hope that you and your mate make a full recovery in time :) ... by the sounds of things, it could have been alot worse... atleast we can be thankful that the reckless behaviour of the guys who caused the accident didn't (also) claim one or more innocent lives...

I'd like to take this oppurtunity to say how much I enjoy Blazin's auto news, and that his posts are such a great and important part of GTPlanet. Always ready with a cool scoop and cool new car pics etc. I'm sure Joey is many people's main source of exciting car news when they really stop to think about it! I hope a great member returns soon (if he hasn't already).

Talked to him this morning, he's bored as hell. Katie brought his laptop up to him today so you should be hearing from him soon I would think.
 
It must be really hard knowing that his knee might not be as good as it was before, but it might help to lightly joke around a little so as to not always remind him of the downsides of the surgery.

After the Knee surgery, our #1 auto news reporter will be the new & improved semi-bionic BlazinXtreme! (I hope I wasn't being tactless there)
 
NIce to see you're still about Blazin... actually, you're checking this thread, so hang in there and keep in mind that although this may seem as a traumatic experience and all, at least the body doesn't remember the pain. I was in a similar situation (pretty banged up, post-traumatic stress disorder and all) and can relate to the physical and psychological pain you may be going through. :)
