Wow, man. Sorry to hear about the accident, and I hope your knee isn’t ruined for life. :(

Good luck with the surgery, keep us updated!

Nope no pictures after the crash but this is what it looked like. It was a little different from those pictures and yes the light bar is welded to the frame.

That's a really nice truck; shame it sounds like its a write-off.

Glad to hear you're suing the SRT-4 driver's family. They sound like a bunch of idiots. Hopefully you should be able to at least get compensation for medical and repair bills. But given how the crash worked out and the SRT-4 driver's record, it shouldn't be a hard case, as long as you've got a decent lawyer.

Glad to hear the SRT-4 driver will also live. Something like this should straighten him out if 6 points to his license wouldn't.

Glad to hear you're doing well Joey. Good luck with the surgery.

Lets change the title from... Joey (BlazinXtreme) involved in a car accident last night to Joey (BlazinXtreme) was involved in a car accident but thankfully is now just peachy.

True that, but I doubt my brother will be back since he's anti internet

Glad to here your feelin better Blazin. I hope your sugurey goes extremely well and that you recover faster than the ususal. And sue them idiots for all they got.:D

Most of the cars I've driven were pretty low-powered. I've done some digging, and here's my car history:

1989 Oldsmobile Cutlass Calais - 2.5L I4, 110hp, 3-speed automatic

1989 Toyota Camry LE - 2.5L V6, 153hp, 4-speed automatic

1992 Ford Tempo GL - 2.3L I4, 96hp, 3-speed automatic

2006 Mazda3i - 2.0L I4, 150hp, 5-speed manual

Most powerful thing I've friven is my dads 275 hp Avalanche, sisters 200 hp(?) Cobalt SS and Moms 180 hp Equinox. All of those were with parents in the car as I still only have a learners permit. I plan on gettin a 93'-97' Camaro Z-28 or Trans Am. And no my parents are not helpin me at all to buy this car I've earned all the money myself ( $5187 ) over 3 years of saving. And I don't plan on ever street racing as it's completely retarded and I'd rather be on a real track.

Speakin of which does anyone know how to find local race events. I've heard of Auto-X on here but I wasn't able to find an Official web site for it.

My insurence company is not going to believe the sleds. It'll be funny trying to explain that to them. But I'm pissed that I lost them, I didn't even get a chance to ride it.

You will get the money regardless: insurance co. or lawsuit. Make sure to get book value, not what you paid for them. You should be looking at several thousand clams in your pocket that weren't there before.

How does wireless internet work in hospitals if you can't even use a cel?

Its dial up internet...kill me. But I can use my cell phone, I never used to think I could but the nurse told me I could.

With caps on lawsuits now, it's best to sue for whatever you can. Don't forget Pain & Suffering. And don't forget, your wife-to-be could sue too, if you guys get married soon. She suffered, too. Mental anguish. Don't laugh at that, because she can really sue for that, and stands a good chance of winning.

possible to scan the pics of the crash?

Im glad you made it through ok mate!

best of luck with your knee operation! 👍

The officer didn't leave the photos and honestly I don't think I really want to look at them. The whole shaken feeling is finally starting to surface. Accidents typically don't bother me but this one did. Probably because I ended up in the hosptial.

I just want to get home and I can start on building my new computer and catch up on some much needed TV time.

Three words: Soft Tissue Damage.

Hey Blazin, think you're going to end up slamming your wheelchair?:dopey:

Well since I will have to be off my feet for a while I'm going to see about getting a wheel chair from the insurence company because I'm not going to stay in the house for 6 weeks. But if I get one, I'll want to customize it .

Good to hear you're okay, Blazin'. About the kid and his parents, I was all ready to feel sorry for him, but after reading all this (6 points!?!), I go back to what I said... these guys never learn... not until they're good and dead. There are street racers around here (our police are effective as squat at stopping them) that have a running tab at our hospital... and they do eventually end up at the morgue, one way or the other.

You could likely sue them for the full monty. Mental anguish is worth a million clams at least. Seriously.

No idea how fast the car was? And his son with so many offenses? Delusional.

Hope your operation goes okay. My uncle (my twin, actually) had his repaired, and it's a pain in the ass. Hope you'll be able to walk well at least.

following the GTP tradition, this thread is going a tad off-topic...

That's a damn proper welcome back for Blazin' 👍

Googled:
Horsepower(HP): 215 @ 5400 RPM

They dyno at around 230+. They're too fast for anyone who's starting out. Heck, I wouldn't give anything over 100 hp and with a 98 mph speed limiter to a 16 year old boy.

Repeat after me, man... I'M ALIVE.

Whenever you start gettin' freaked out, just remember those two words.

Don't think about what could have been.. think about what is. Later on, when everything's settled down, then you can think back on the "could have been".. I'd suggest against it this soon after the accident.

Another thing, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is normal in this kind of occasions, and usually lasts about three months, give or take a couple of weeks. You'll probably get the chills, think a lot of what could've been, how lucky you were, probably get a bit depressed as well. You'll probably hear the same sounds that went over during the accident, and whenever you hear a car screeching you'll probably tense up. It's all normal.

Psychology is a good way to get over it, but nothing cures it better than time. Ignoring it won't make it go away, so during those three months you will come to terms a couple of times of what could've been and since you'll be off your feet and bored senseless, you'll be doiing a lot of thinking... and that's where the whole mindworking of the accident goes on.

Well, Joey, I'm very glad to see you're fine, and doing okay. Send my, and for that matter, GTP's best wishes to your friend, too.

Pimp My Chair!

I'm actually quite disgusted at the fact that this kid's father didn't offer an apology. That's appalling. And for a sixteen year old kid to only have 6 points less, and his father not to actually take the SRT-4 off of him, is equally disgraceful. This family deserves to be sued. Take them for all you can and do not feel bad about it for a second.

You're lucky to have such a great girl by your side, Joey. I'm positive she's going to make such a great wife.

Note: To all of the people asking for pictures of the accident, please stop. Joey doesn't exactly want to be reminded of the accident in that fashion, and it's quite disrespectful to be asking someone who has just been in a major accident for pictures of the crash.

Great to hear you're ok-ish Joey.

That kid was 16? That's terrible. I'm 16 and I'm not even allowed to drive yet, let alone at 120mph. That's rediculous although he's definately paying for it. Paralyzed at 16 is not a good thing.

Really glad to hear you and your friend are ok, that crash seems pretty horific to say the least! 👍 👍 👍

Tell me, did your cowboy hat get destroyed in the crash as well? - if so, perhaps your insurance money could be used to buy a regular baseball cap instead? :sly:

You were thinking of changing your GTP name weren't you - perhaps with a new knee you could call yourself 'BionicXtreme'?

I hope a new knee won't make you walk 'funny' - we don't want to add any credability to your 'Brokeback' picture do we! :sly:

BlazinXtreme
and had 6 points on his license.
What does that mean exactly?? Your brother is anti internet and still he became a member of GTplanet to let us all know what happened to you. 👍

kikie
What does that mean exactly??
 I'm assuming you're not driving age... Little tip, Never find out what it means because you might end up the in the same situation as this SRT-4 retard.

Not necessarily.

I'm well past driving age and I don't know exactly what that means.

I know offenses get demerit points on your license (too many in a time period and license goes bye-bye) but what do you have to do in the US to get a point, or 6 points, and how many before your driving days are over?

Both kikie and I live many miles from the US...

Ok, lets put it this way... no matter where you're from if you do stupid **** like "driving recklessly" and it's severe enough you will loose you're license. Unless you're country is crazy enough to just let people drive around doing anything they want there are consequences for certain actions while you're driving. See here.

I thought everywhere has points?

Over here, you get 3 points for speeding and such. If you get 12, you get banned for a length of time. If you get 6 in the first two years of having your licence (I think) You get banned.

Different offences give different amounts of points.
