I know a DUI is auto removal of all points. A Mminor shunt removes one point and another point for each additional even during a minor shunt... for example, you grazed a wall, that's -1, after that you hit a lampost -1 + (-1), and so on. Speeding is -2 if you're going less than 15 over the speed limit. I'll probably do a search for it and post it... but since I'm such a lazy guy, someone will hopefully beat me to it.

I'm passed driving age myself. Like ferrari_chris said, I live many miles (in my case, many km :sly: from the US). I know that there are countries that work with points (one politician almost implemented this point system over here). What I meant was: 6 points is that really bad or an average?? What's the max points you can get?? When (how many) do you loose your license and for how long? Do you have to take your drivers license exam again??? I was just trying to picture the situation this SRT-4 driver was in before he crashed into Blazin and Chris.
Where I live, we don't have that point system. If your speeding (or driving while your drunk or are in an accident) in a situation that is very dangerous or on the highway, driving (I think) 150 km/u and more, you loose your drivers license immediatly (and get fined) for a certain periode. The police officers make a call to determine if they can confiscate his/her license. The offender is not allowed to drive his/her car anymore (need to call a tow truck or a friend). Fines are very, very expensieve over here.

Hey Blazin, welcome back, I'm glad to hear your okay. The UK v American car debates have subsided in the last few days and theres been almost no news in the auto forums .

Let put it this way... no points is ideal. :dopey: If you get one or two I guess depending on what it was it's forgiveable but if the points don't get you the insurance cost will take car of it. I can't imagine that guys insurance premium then again the father works for Chrysler and probably doesn't care.

God, that's still hilarious... SRT-4 and I didn't know it could go that fast AND he works at Chrysler. Whatever the **** you say dood.

In Australia we get a certain amount of points and each offence gets points deducted. Once you have zero points you have zero license. Public holidays are usually double demerit points so I don't think being a stupid driver gets you anywhere around here except maybe an embankment.

Once I get home I'll start posting more, but its weird, the pain medication doesn't let me sleep for to long. I'll fall asleep, and wake up like 2 hours later. Kinda sucks, and the only reason I'm up now is because I'm hungury again. Everyone who says hospital food is bad doesn't know what they are talking about, this place is awesome! I'm getting bacon, eggs, waffles, and toast for breakfast...I never eat this good.

Ive spent the better part of 5 - 6mths total in hospital's and i can vouch that while the food isnt too bad, it is quite bad when your sick, in pain and on medication.

I definetly never got Bacon and Eggs in hospital, you got a lucky hospital there mate!

They give you a menu and you call room service pretty much. It's awesome.

Glad to see there are positives to being in hospital. I know the food wasn't too great when I was last in hospital for open heart surgery.

Great to hear you sound really normal and level-headed Blazin', despite the medications/trauma... The medications made me a bit spaced out and talk crap! (wait that is normal for me).

Good to catch the updates Joey. Glad to hear you're on the mend.

You'll get the cost of the sleds back in the "uninsured losses" section of your lawsuit.

I changed the name of the thread.

Just read through this now, sorry to hear about the accident Blaze, but awesome you pulled through !

Take it easy on the wheel chair mods though... those wheel chair modding stores really soak you

are you sure it's a hospital where you are?

When i was hospitalized the only thing that didn't taste like cardboard was the jello... it actually had no taste.

In the hospital I once stayed in, the food was so bad, they got rid of the kitchen. They opened up, and this is no joke, Taco Bell, KFC and a Pizza Hut in the hospital.

Hmm weird, the hospital I'm at, Crition, is just awesome. Also it was just renovated not that long ago so its pretty nice.

Good for you, man. Great food, internet, comfy bed? I wish all my hospital stays were that good.

Get well, we do miss you in the Auto sections. Keep us updated. :)

First of all, Blazin, I just wanted to wish you well. I only check GTP at work so I just now saw this. Get well soon and if the women won't let you and your buddy race wheelchairs then find other stunts to do. Wheelie laps, wheelie balancing the longest, and a million other things are possible.

As for the food, request that they put you on the heart-healthy diet and see what you get. Breakfast is plain oatmeal or grits with egg whites and dry toast. All of the meals are 0 sodium, 0 cholesterol, 0 fat, and 0 caffeine. No caffeine even means no chocolate pudding. Most of the meals consist of a different looking type of vegetable dish that has no seasoning. I even got unsweetened tea once until I demanded a sweetener of some type. They do include a "heart-healthy seasoning,:" but it is this powdery substance that resembles seasoned salt without the tasty parts.

And take it easy on the kid when you first see him. Just remember that you were young and dumb once too. As someone who had to spend a summer recovering from a temporary paralysis I can tell you he is suffering worse than any pain could cause.

Thanks

As for the kid, like I said I'm going to invite him to join the Safe Racing Society, even though he won't ever be able to drive, maybe he can set an example. Although he's probably thick headed and will get another car and try to race with hand controls.

I really wish Wednesday would get here so they can put my knee togehter...this cast thing sucks and I hate not being able to walk around...I feel so lazy.

The good news is that I was able to sorta get dressed today, threw on a pair of basketball shorts and a hoodie. I want to work out, but the nurse told me I couldn't...so I just do laps around the hospital in my wheel chair. I'm learning how to do stuff in it and I was even able to pop a wheelie...Katie about had a heart attack though.

Other then that, I'm still bored, the internet only has so much on it before I get sick of it...plus its dial up so it's not stellar. At least I have my lap top so I can watch DVD's and play games. Katie bought me Call of Duty 2 and I must say its entertaining.

WHOa I did not expect to read this when I hopped back in here on monday. Max make sure you tell Joey that we are all thinking of him and hope he gets well soon and his friend. Thats horrible news!
I responded before reading all 5 pages but glad to hear you are ok!

After reading back thru the posts, its a very good thing your buddy had a roll bar. It definetly saved your life by the sounds of the accident!! 👍

Its good to see you back b_x. I have to say I missed you. Your girl katie sounds really nice too.

I feel sorry for the 16 year old however. His life is going to be very very hard from now one. I blame the parents. Theyre 100% at fault.

Make a swifty recovery and keep us posted :)

Yep parents giving the kids money or buying them fast cars. I was at an Evolution meeting and kids that looked like they just came from the DMV with their license had an evolution. Temptation will be too much and they'll race, probably end up getting in an accident like this screwing up their lives.

Ive only ever been in kids wards in hospitals, so i had PS2's and N64's to play and also SNES and PS1 back in the day (even remember playing sega) so i always use to clock the games and play them for the week or so i was in hospital for!.

Im not sure if you got anything like that in a adult ward, but its nice to see you have a laptop and some games 👍 That will work just fine!

Good to see your recovering fast!

Do you have much pain? I bet those ribs hurt a bit?

OK, first mod for the chair: wheelie bars. And a roll cage.

Do you ever go to bash.org? It's occaisionally amusing (well, I think it is), and dialup loves it. (If anyone else wants a look, Google it. I'm not linking it, because it's contrains a fair bit of swearing, amongst other things - don't go there if you're easily offended, people.)

Considered starting a thread about bash before, but considering the offensive/racist content I decided against it. The rest of it is funny though.

Well good to hear no one got killed, and I hope you and your friend have a quick recovery and are back on your feet as soon as possible.

I hope the SRT4 driver recovers as best he can, but more so I hope this will be an eye opener to him, make him take the consequences of his actions into consideration before doing something just as stupid again. Its never to early to grow up.

Good to see you feeling better.

Same here. My wife was ordering Eggs Benedict, VeggieBurgers  and Ice Cream Sundaes. Not Bad.

As far as pain I'm taking some kinda pain pills but they make me feel weird so I'm sticking to Ibprofen...which does ok. My ribs only hurt if I take a deep breath, but my knee is killing me. Just two more days though at it will be fixed. They did some more X-rays today and finalized that they could repair the knee because it was so badly damaged...the passenger door sorta crushed it.

But thanks for the warm wishes.

You need to get a wheelchair like this...

Then see what your better half has to say ;)
