Joining friends online?

Is there a way to join a room your friends are in without painstakenly looking threw hundreds of rooms for them? I'm pretty sure it's possible but I can't figure it out

Go to community and look for the name. If they are in a room there should be a yellow circle by Lounge. Click it to join their room.

Keep in mind that they have to have set up their Lounge settings properly, or else you won't be able to join and will have to enter their room number in the open lobby instead.

Could you elaborate a little bit more on that toranado? Can I join a room my friend is in if they arnt the host of the room? Thank you

I'm honestly not sure what causes it, exactly. I just know that with a couple of the people on my friends list, when I go to join their lounge, has an error message spit out at me because they haven't "Set their My Lounge settings" or something to that effect; which means I have to manually enter the room number to enter their Lounge.



As far as your second question, no. If they aren't the host of the room, there is no real way to tell what room they are in.

I have never come across this, as long as some one that is on my friends list is playing online, all I have to do is go to community , scroll over there name in my list of gt5 friends, and above there lounge icon is a small yellow dot, hit x on that and I can join what ever room there in, doesn't matter if there host or not.

Are you sure? Every time I check the yellow icon and they aren't the room host, it the menu that pops up is empty. Do I need to join the room anyway?

Positive. Just joined a friend tonight and he didn't host. I have come across a blank menu before tho. I just closed it and opened again and names showed up.

If your friend is in an open lobby you can enter thru coffee cup in community.

If your friend is in an his private lounge you can enter thru coffee cup in community.

If your friend is in another friends open lobby you can enter thru coffee cup in community.

If your friend is in another friends private lounge you cannot enter at all as your friend wont show as online. So you will need to message him, and he will have to ask the lounge owner to send you a FR before you can access the room.
