Question, how many of you are using wheels vs. controllers? Watching the replays some of the cars look really twitchy.

It is normal with replays, you should see Forze replays, alot worse imo.

I use a wheel too. Wonder if it's set up also. Seems like my car pushes a lot. Other's look like they can just change direction by 10-20 degrees at a whim.

I'll review the replays, but it sounds like a normal 1st race of people getting use to people and their cars. I'm sure cleaner racing will follow in the future.

You using which car? With the IS350 it's inherent, cant seem to get rid of it. If abs is off then it's a pain going into corners cos of the weight distribution too.
I have no time to set up my car proper so I just follow what my teamate does.

I did tweak some stuff briefly for 10min though, and completely reversed the setup, removed alignment. The difference in time was... Nothing.
No idea how setup works in GT5. Nuts. Car does suit me better though.

How is the Lexus overpowered?

It's not all about top speed. It's overpowered because Veloci and I can easily push out mid 1:38s in it around Tokyo but only have a best of ~mid 1:39 in the Garaiyas (and most every other car).

I was doing 41s in the lexus 42s in the garaiya and mr-s and 43s in the imprezza. That was with the lexus at 404hp. Imo the lexus needs to be at 394hp. 404hp is still a little over powered.

Lexus and Garaiya are similar. RX7 alittle harder

If you can't tuned an Garaiya to 0.5 quicker then you can tune lol.
Reduce the RX7 weight by 10kg to 1170.

The problem with some of these ideas is the slowest car in the pack will be struggling to compete if you guys go up instead of down (meaning lowering the weight on the rx7 making that car now harder to catch). GTRRL & Gate had the is350 @ 30hp from the pack, I went 40hp judging off afelin average finishes plus the fact on a wide open track the rx7 still had a trap speed of 167mph compared to everyone else's 160mph to 164mph. Here are 3 scenario's why I know the Lexus was over powered. In a quick race against the Lexo's off the line from a standing start with my AWD I could not pass the Lexus to the side of me and the Lexus in front me while setting in his draft all the way down the straight. 2nd scenario I was coming out of the carousel side by side with a Lexus on more then one occasion, and that thing just easily powered right pass me like we where in two different classes. 3rd scenario I was catching a draft of the rx7 that is also naturally overpowered but it's on the way top end side so at least you get a chance to catch up first, but once the rx7 I was drafting caught another Lexus's draft they both pulled from me so easily I was let behind for all eternity. I even broke a gap from the Lexus in another quick race but they can still run you down without that much effort or draft. The Lexus needs to be brought down vs the other cars being brought up because some of these chassis are maxed out already. The trap speeds from qualifying (no draft) going into turn 1 at Tokyo were Cusco 159-160mph barely, Celica 160-161mph, Rx7 161mph, Lexus 162-163mph.

Just realised the ARTA i used had the engine upgrade.
Arta without engine upgrade a second slower than Lexus, .5 slower than rx7

joe the Arta needs stage 3. It's way down on torque compared to rest of field

I was drag racing the Arta (Zachs Arta with engine+) on the straight, still slightly slower than the Lexus, but only VERY slightly, maybe 1-2m difference by end of straight.

The ARTA is definitely more balanced though, even compared to my tuned Lexus.

Arta with stage 3 is 1mph slower. Arta without stage 3 is a good 3-4mph slower.

Arta without stage 3 loses a full second on the straight because it's got no torque coming out for the final turn

Thanks Tyler. Yeah, you copy it to your PS3 and if there are no problems, you can import the replay with that icon in the replay menu.

If this is why you're tweaking the Subaru, then add weight to the Lexus; don't take weight off the Subaru.

After reading some of the squabbling in here Id like to say well done to Cam and Wardez for an exceptionally close and clean race, side by side going into many corners and not 1 single incident to report. Well done fellas.

I just watched the replay of Wardez in the Arta vs 2 Lexus's and what a fight it was between the 3 of them. Wardez and cam were swapping it out, it is true the Arta was slower than the Lexus when putting the power down, but Wardez had very high corner speed so he was going to be alright even when he was passed. Watching Wardez's on board cam when it was him vs one Lexus he could swap positions even-tho on lap 10 he had a nice strong draft on cam and couldn't complete the draft pass on the Lexus before the s bend of the straight, and when the 3rd Lexus (flanked) came to ruin the party they went all the way around the track with Wardez trailing the two Lexus's down the straight. But if 2 Lexus's drafting each other then this is were the problem comes in if your following them. The 2 Lexus's just started pulling away from Wardez like he was a sitting duck. If it hadn't been for his high corner speed and the 2 Lexus's swapping positions and knocking tenths out of each other they could of pulled away. If cam and flanked would have choose to work together they could of pulled away and gaped Wardez. Long story short the cars are pretty well balanced except for the Lexus being overpowered a bit and the Subaru's having to slow of a trap speed. Taking 10hp from the Lexus should be right on point, and hopefully 4 extra hp on the Subaru which isn't a lot, but is better than nothing should do the trick. I still think they could use 10kg less, but one at-least does have awd advantage! 👍

All cars were in the 1'41's at a minimum but Joe & TDZ had trouble breaking out of the 1'42's using Subaru's. Lexus comes down -10hp, Subaru's go up -10kg in the end it's not much'

The Lexus at 394 BHP is extremely balanced then with the Arta. But Lexus at 394 gives the RX7 an unfair boost on the straights... RX7 wouldbe a good 6mph faster than rest of field

Edit: or Lexus at 404bhp and the Arta with a stage 3 gives the same balance. With the Lexus still keeping the RX7 honest.

The Arta only gains 1mph with stage 3 but it's torque means it doesn't drop as much time on the straight

No Arta with stage 3 still 0.5 slower down straights and no faster in corners. It's just not 1s slower down straights like it is now.

Great racing last night. Me and Bazzer were neck and neck all race we were really pushing each other through every sector, catching up to Wardez at the end of his stints.

Results posted (thanks to Zach for checking times and Tyler for replay). Please remember if you change cars between rounds that ballast is carried over, so just take your total success ballast and add it to your new car's base weight.

Whatever car you decide to qualify with you MUST race in that round.
