Lordy...
CNN
But Ferrari probably did not expect to elicit a response from racing and car design rivals Red Bull, winners of four straight team and driver titles between 2009 and 2011
2009-2011 is three. And that'll be 2010-2013 - Brawn won it in 2009.
CNN
Red Bull Motorsports posted its car concept, designed by Newey for a computer game in 2014
2010.

CNN aren't so hot with their years...

I'm hoping a modder puts this together for AC and other sims:sly: Anyone notice the helmet is actually built into the car...or perhaps it's a shell to hold the helmet. Not sure I'd be a big fan of that were I a driver. :irked:

@jimipitbull.

Nah, just something I saw on my Flipboard feed and it made me chuckle so I thought I'd post it.

"A Computer Game", I think the GT series is much more than a computer game.

Relax people. I put it on the review thread, not the main board. Kaz worked with Adrian on the car. I saw a documentary that proves it. That's the GT connection. Sheesh.

...........This made me chuckle too. Technically, GT6 is a console game, isn't it...
Seriously though, I was under the impression Adrian Newey didn't actually design the X cars, but just "approved" them. Was I wrong??

I'm glad I'm not the only person baffled by someone raising the shocking embarrassment of calling a computer game a computer game.

That sort of straight shooting just isn't PC. A computer game is an electronic pleasure making audio visual device.

Under no circumstances is any reporter ever to call a spade a spade, when they could instead raise their word count by half a dozen.

It is a "computer" game but it's a bit more than that. See if things like GT academy didn't exist then some of NISMO racing drivers wouldn't be a professional racer and instead they would be just a gamer.

As great as the GTA program is, it has no bearing on what GT is or is not IMO.

Not sure why this is in the GT6 review forums, and it's already been posted and talked about HERE.
Same link, completely different focus in this thread.

There seems to be some confusion here.

Check out the quotes in the title. They're around "a computer game", not "just a computer game". This is because the CNN piece refers to the Red Bull as being designed for "a computer game". They refer to the game as just "a computer game", not as Gran Turismo:

The first post further clarifies that:
Didn't give GT any credit.
It's not that CNN referred to GT6 as "just a computer game" (they didn't) or that the concept that a console game isn't a computer game (hey, at least they didn't say "videogame", which I hate even more), but that they didn't refer to Gran Turismo at all.

Which suggests that CNN doesn't think that the gaming sector is big enough to warrant such distinctions - they could easily have put in "designed by Newey for the Gran Turismo computer game".

Gran Turismo should be considered a real life "last star fighter" on wheels as it is also a recruitment tool for rarely talented pilots to compete against others.
