Good news though! I managed to repair the force feedback on my wheel - I borrowed a soldering iron and reattached the power socket prongs back onto the circuit board inside the unit, it worked a treat (I suspected that was the problem as the socket had felt loose for a while)... am back on the road

Nice update Glad to see you still flying the Standard flag! Really like the Mini, and the Bug at Nordschliefe Just out of interest, was your Bug stock or tuned? Because tuned right, the Bug is a giant-killer. 27 different races at least can be won with it.

Also like the purplish effect on the Deux Chevaux

Finally took a step out into the Photo world (more or less "finished" the game) and I admit, "girl" caught my attention and seeing your pics has made me (and I am right now) set out to take nice pics as well. Actually, I tried before but could never get the shots I was looking for (eg your Nur GTi shot) where it would mimic as if I was panning. I said, "Well there's GOT to be a way," and after 30 mins of tinkering, I finally figured it out. Nice shots! My wife particularly likes your "The Final Kart Experience" since we both participate in a local kart-league here.

really loving that first shot of the caterham 7. it's so nice and simple.
i'm surprised they even have the talon in gt5. i just wish it were the '91
AWD TSi. used to have one in real life, and i'd rather have it than that body.
how do you like the mustang ? i have a model car of that same exact color
too. great pictures. the standard car series remind me of the old gt4 photomode

Okay guys... another big update
I have been busy testing my collection again, all standard models this time.

Starting with a standard 'standard' Lupo

Totally uninspiring

Though the Lupo GTi was much more fun

But I do seem to have 4 different colour versions of the Lupo Cup Car somewhere

The old '80s box-shaped Celica

Didn't have as much grunt as I had hoped

This old Nissan Bluebird was a fun drive

It was also lacking in grunt though

Unlike this Skyline which had plenty

Talking of Skylines...

This had far more understeer than I would expect for a 4WD

The MR2, a favourite of mine from the old GT2 series

Had a little more oversteer than I remember

...and it caught me out a little

On the subject of oversteer - I tried this Chrysler out

Actually pretty cool for drift practice as it had predictable oversteer

Such a shame it is so darn ugly

This Autobacs Garaiya is far from ugly, I think

...and one of my new favourites

It held the corners like Loctite!

Unlike this RUF

Which I couldn't keep on the track

This BMW Touring Car was a real joy to pound around Nordschleife

Definitely added to my favourites list

This FTO wasn't great but I have added Cote d'Azur to my favourites list!

My previous 'real life' car was a '96 Renault Megane 1.6 5dr

I bought the same shape 2.0 Coupe to try

Mine had the older grille - but it was just as sweet to drive, crisp steering, predictable understeer

A former colleague of mine had the Fiat Turbo Coupe

...and after one lap I can understand how his ended up in a ditch

The Superbird has to have the most ridiculous wing ever!

Handled like a tired old hound too

Which leads me last, but not least, to the Yellowbird

What a beast!

After several laps I thought I was getting the handle on drifting it a little

Then it bit me firmly on the rear cheeks!

They attributed that ridiculous wing to the huge advantage Plymouth drivers had. It was banned from competition the next year.

All I can say is "what standards?"... You seem to have knack of bringing out the best of these so called low res models that I have to do a doubletake sometimes, Nissan Bluebird shots are my faves of another great set.

I really like your style of shooting cars, you've captured so many great moments! Im struggling to really give any detailed feedback though, simply because there are so many of them! I guess you're shooting to record moments as opposed to being full on artistic with them. I really should try that myself sometime!

Another update for you, still working my way through my standard cars and, I guess this is sort of a photo-diary of my GT5, though I hope some of the pictures have artistic merit to them too

Where to start... ah the Zonda

Mental - simple as that

Taking it back a few years to the Triumph Spitfire - not all that pleasant to handle in GT5

I don't know how I managed to avoid that though!

The Izuzuzuzu Piaazzazaza - or something

Handles pretty much how it looks

I have been collecting some 'every day' European cars

...and this unassuming Fiat really did have Spirito di Punto

Bob really made a mess of some cornering in London

So I took the old Countach out for a tour

Ugly, in my opinion, but wow...

Handled like a dream!

Unlike this Carbon Skyline - It really did not agree with me

A Honda Civic always agrees with me

I finally took the Veyron out for a spin

It is a marvel of engineering - good looking - completely impractical

Oh... and outside of the straights it handles like a bucket

Sadly, after driving it, the Anniversary Countach felt really sluggish

But had much nicer handling

I like to get dirty from time to time

Especially amidst such beautiful surroundings

Again I save the best until last

I have loved the Quattro ever since childhood

Now I can really appreciate why

Not only is it incredibly photogenic from any angle

It drives superbly too

I'm feeling a bit of Quattro love now - it's 1982, teatime and I'm havin' hoops!

Hope you liked them I am sure I will get around to trying out some premium models soon...

You've done a great job making some standard model cars look really nice - especially the Quattro (shot #4 of the Quattro is a superb example). Keep up the good work, and I can't wait to see what you do with a premium model!
