In Belgium, we have the same thing. We have a blue-white L on our car if you have a provisional.Some people over here put a green P on their car after they've passed to let other drivers know that they're a new driver.

And you'll soon find nothing is more fun then a good ol'fashion traffic light drag, I'm lucky enough to have traffic lights on a road nearby with a 90km/h limit, so they last into the 10s of seconds for me. Unfortunately, my car is so slow, I need to think I'm in a traffic light drag just to keep up with traffic, but it's fun none-the-less.
I'm pretty sure I just miss those new restrictions coming in.

I'm going for my Restricted (the second licence in NZ, the first where you can drive by yourself [and without stupid L's]) on Jan 8th.
All it is is a 20-minute test where you do basic stuff like turning left and right at lights, going round roundabouts etc.
