... until i have to do the 125's *shudder*

rest of the race. Had to do some defensive driving but everything turned out alright...

very happy for you  if you hated the national A karts...you will rage very 🤬 bad in shifter karts in IA...or maybe not:sly:... the only kart race that i like is the redbull bcoz its more responsive but you cant use them in other races...goodluck with the other kart races :)

Never changed the setting for the kart races, only accelerate smooth (R2 trigger) without touching the steering. That way it's easy to win, but indeed no fun at all. Sold the karts right after i golded the events.

What setting did any of you used for IA Kart Race at Gran Turismo Arena with Shifter?
i add 5kg-8kg to the rear by 48%-50% to lessen the spinout specially in gt ring (last race)...just test whats suits you and in the last race lower your top speed so you can accelerate more...also i used 160km top speed in the 1st two race...MenocicidX is right "only accelerate smooth (feather the acceleration) without touching the steering"

What's that old joke?

How do you get to Carnegie Hall?

Practice, practice, practice. Most of the advice here is good advice for the Kart races. It just takes a lot of patience and persistence.

Now the Grand Turismo Stadium is difficult and controller snapping infuriating BUT it can be conquered so hang in there.

Btw the rain master or whatever races are not that hard. You don't even need rain tires. Just go softest racing tires you can and drive smooth. Something isn't right with the rain / tire model in GT 6 so you don't go flying off the track with racing slicks like you did in GT 5. I bet PD is going to fix this in a future update so better to clear those races now while it's "easy" then later.

rainmaster is easy? 🤬 i almost threw my controller out of frustration! i didnt played gt5 i dont ps3 back then... gt6 is my 1st gt in ps3...maybe bcoz i used fxx that's why i felt its difficult and the recommended tires are racing hard...it takes a lot control and focus to win those races specially in the nurburgring...the a.i. in lead is so far away

Finally did the Kart shifter arena, Definately the most difficult race on gt6(not counting Red bull) . As has been written. adding ballast at + 50 5-20 kg..helped alot. Dont spin out so easy which is a trade off for for bad braking. I used 10kg at +50. 150 km max speed.26. 5xx laps...the faster you go the faster the AI goes. So once you get close to him...try to pass anyway you can...then the race is over. My biggest problem with DS3 was trying to keep constant speed of around 60-65km around the last turns .

if you have an add on trigger in ds3 it will help a lot in maintaining certain speed and also to all who will read this...driving in automatic in gt arena (last race in shifter karts) can also help, so you can focus in racing, cornering, etc rather than confusing yourselves shifting gears

No mistakes, take it fairly easy and you should be fine (For the National A non-shifters) I use a DFGT and AI are pretty aggressive, but just go hard 1st/2nd lap and take it easy for the last one (or few) and it shouldn't be too difficult.

The problem in kart racing is that you have no the needed corner sight, due to fixed onboard camera limited fov.
You just have to guess where is the apex, because in kart racing corners are so tight. But it is quite impossible to take the right trajectory at the maximum speed, because is just blind steering.

now that's where practice comes in ;)

I feel that very frustrating, and a shame because go kart handling is very well done in this game (i race kart in rl).

So I've managed to smash out 2 of the 3 national A ones, but it's the Kart Space one that just... urgh... the best I can get is second. Must've tried 100+ attempts in 90 minutes :(
I struggled with this but then I shortened the gear ratios. When I was doing the X2014 challenge on Goodwood many posts said to put steering sensitivity to 7 which helped then, so I also did it on the Kart Space national A, not sure if it helped or not but still finished 1st.

When driving a kart I have found for me that at the start of every sharp corner if I let off the gas completely and do not touch the brake I can take that corner at almost any speed. Once in to the turn I ease back into the throttle and am at full throttle by the straight away. Of course you will have to play with your own technique when it comes to getting back on the gas but as I said as long as I don't touch either pedal when I start the turn I can take almost any corner at almost any speed.

For Ds3:- steering sensitivity +5. Use O&X buttons for brake & accelerate. Toggles are to cumbersome. Also use the ground view (1st view). Driving line may help.
During the race the top 3 or 4 will tear ahead of the pack seemingly for an easy win, don't give up just keep punching out consistant lap times & you will take 1st with a lap to go. Good luck ;).

Fully agree with this, while the A.I. usually slows down in the last few laps, I noticed that my lap times start going down the further I progress in a race.
(No idea why I start slow again if I do a restart though :D)

lol you guys make me laugh. karts are the easiest thing to drive in game. all events were easy too. you just need to be real gentle with steering and dont turn so much., dont get how you can be struggling on this.

karts are the easiest thing to drive in game.
despite the fact that I doubt you're here to help and probably just want for us all to bask in your arrogance, there are easier things to drive than karts. (FF cars in the novice races just to give an example)

This thread is here to help those who have trouble with the kart races, not for people to gloat that it was not as hard for them.

I also want to chime in & express my frustration with the kart races. I don't mind a couple of races, but the shifter races pushed me over the edge. I don't know what karts have to do with simulation racing? Perhaps a special optional section for karts would have been better, like they did in GT5? Anyway, thanks for all the feedback & help(?).

I love how almost everybody here is changing settings or adding weight. You don't need to do any of that to get gold in the karts. You only need one thing, skill. Apparently most of you lack it.

I am using a wheel I found all of the kart races easy but I feel sorry for the people who are using a DS3 it not that easy. Go gentle with steering and don't turn so much and the key is the throttle control and of course Practice.

Ferrari FXX in the rain?!?!? My hats off to you for bravery.

I passed in the Pagani Huayra '13. It's a handful but not as crazy as the FXX. Just go slow into turns and fast out. Don't pit for tires and keep racing soft on.

Yes Nürburgring is a pain wet or dry until you've driven it like a gillion times. By then you either love it or REALLY hate it but you'll be able to drive it.

Cool that this is your first GT game! If you don't mind the older graphics, pick up a copy of GT4. Some say it was the best overal version and I would probably agree.

Good luck on the races!

happy new year! thanks bro! i read in some thread that if your stuck in a race then use what the winning a.i. uses so...i was forced to buy an fxx...although i got 1st using it, i still think its the wrong car for that race but that also forced me to play really careful. i wish i have a wheel so i can feel the road more for precise turning but i cant afford even the dfgt..so im stuck with ds3 but its still fun specially the tuning part.

actually nurburgring is my favorite track. i just drove (casual driving) for hours there in gt4 and now in gt6...gt6 is my first gt in ps3 but i've also played gt1, gt2, gt3 in younger years...i skipped gt5 bcoz i only got a ps3 recently...

goodluck on the races too bro!:) happy new year!!
