Absolutely no Fanatec 911 Turbo (not 's') support, outrageous, I would have thought that as a racing game this would support all common wheels but apparently I was wrong

This is where it gets annoying. GT5 is currently sitting at a lower Metacritic score than any other game in the series, yet with a bit of care and attention and a few updates it could easily address many of the complaints found in reviews. Then we'll have to live with the fact the review scores are no longer fairly representing the quality of the game.

I guess that's just what happens when you're given the chance to improve your game after release.

Its no biggie I guess. GT is still averaging around and 86 or an 87 anyway, so with the updates you have to imagine it would be up around a 92-95 range.

I was a bit disappointed by the review score(it not averaging at least a 9.5/10):nervous:

hopefully by X-mas(when I've finished my Finals), when I get my First Ps3 with the game, the updates will have fixed the bugs and more content is added:sly:

Well, personally I'm new to Gran Tourismo (besides Prologue) and this game is down right amazing! I bought a G27 and it amplifies the experience, of course I could use a few more fixes here and there, but in the state it is right now, I already consider it a master piece!

If you want real damage control, by a car and go to a real track. otherwise, enjoy!

Yeah well what about us guys who made some money to buy this game, and now can't pay for DLC's? I mean, I LOVE GT5, but the fact that its freezing, online doesn't work, car selection is annoying and that the car NEVER seems to get dirty (I took my Focus on a rally track for about an hour and when I came out it was shiny again)... I'm sorry, but for once, I am dissappointed with GT. They should fix all the problems first, then release FREE DLC's. Okay, a few paywares should be okay. But like converting cars slowly to premium should be free. + trying to balance the cars out by introducing more European/American cars. Fair enough if cars like brand new ones are payware, and new tracks perhaps. But the classics should be free, and some notable ones like Spa...

It's the wheel that's at fault not the game. You need to buy a new wireless dongle from Fanatec and that should allow it to work.

I didn't think this wheel ever worked on the PS3.

yep the 30 euro dongle that costs an extra 17 euros to ship to the UK. That's 47 euros (£40)
That's a ridiculous price

Let it be tracks more premium cars cause i dont want standard, and probably not possible but improve some of those textures on the tracks..

Kaz never wanted to release GT5 in the first place. I remember back when he talked about how GT5 was just a future project and how he had no intentions of even releasing the game in 2010. At least that is how I remember one of the interviews. I could be wrong.

I think he caught a lot of heat, and felt that he had to get this damned thing out on the market before insane fans with nothing to look forward to in life started killing themselves if he delayed it again.

I'm putting the pieces of the puzzle together and here we even have Kaz talking about GT6 and even PS4 before those things should even matter at the moment, but they do matter because he wanted to work so much more on GT5, but I think he had a lot of pressure on his back.

For the people that love GT5, I'm glad that you all enjoy the game. And those that are disappointed, well you all have your freedom of opinion and your rights, and a lot of your reasons for disappointment are valid ones indeed.

I haven't played GT5 yet, so I can't criticize it. But I will say that I have no desire to try any new game at the moment because I have to spend my money differently right now unfortunately and by the time I can go out and buy some games again, GT6 and Forza 4 will probably already be out. lol

It's a miracle that GT5 is even out, because if it were up to Kaz, he would have released it as one of the last games for PS3 before the new generation came around, or even just wait and release it for the next Sony console, so in the end, even though there are a lot of shortcomings, people are loving the game, so that's all that matters.

so...was this game not finished or something? Everything in these past threads combined with my actual experience behind the wheel of my g27 and 13 hours of play time has supported that assumption..

Nothing has made sense leading up to this games release....and it continues to raise major questions as to wtf is going on over there at PD

Not surprised , i expected this statement to come out at some point , it looks as if parts are unfinished and maybe that is what the updates will fix. I doubt we will see GT6 until at least 2017 maybe longer as i expect that could be a PS4 game. I think we need to be happy with what we have now and put the updates on as we get them. but its not unusal for a game to have glitchy issues , the best for this i think was FEAR 1 and FEAR 2 , in total they both had like 7 updates to fix problems , but Little big planet has had about 18 updates for DLC and glitch fixes.

More updates are inevitable. What I want to see is something in the lines of "Play, Create, Share." like ModNation Racers, but serious GT stuff. :)

Lol, I'm fine with the game. The damage is actually excellent in my opinion, and it will only improve as updates come.

I really wish they would fix the jaggy SHADOWS. The visuals in this game are stunning but the only thing holding them back are the downright terrible shadows. I just wish they would fix them. :( Hopefully someday...

210 quid is a lot of money. Maybe you should have done a bit more research before you spent it.

Maybe you should do some research. look at this: http://www.fanatec.de/html/index.php?id=213&lang=

What does that tell you eh????

In their product comparison they wrote that the target customer for the PWT is 'Advanced PS3 Users' yet it's not even fully compatible with the PS3.

How long ago did you buy it? If it was recently then there is a load of info to be found in regard to it's non compatability with newer games. If you bought it a while ago, things change. And all the info you posted was from Fanatec, if you want go blame someone blame them not PD.

I bought it in February and of course I'm blaming fanatec for the false advertisement. Even if there is info to be found in regard to it's non comparability they're still in violation and advertisement rules as that info is still on their website. At the time of purchase, I was falsely told that my product will be compatible with all PS3 games which support ffb.
And the fact that I'm posting this on this thread is that I want to raise this to PD's attention so they can hopefully add the PWT compatibility in a future update.

Btw this was just ignorant and hypocritical:

Hmm, seems to me you were pinning the blame squarely on PD's shoulders in this post.

And that post was in no way ignorant or hypocritical. I bought my turbo s over a year ago and can remember back then when researching wheels that people were reporting problems with the turbo and PS3 compatability.

I do think there are a few issues that need resolving with GT5. The poor shadows is a big one for me. I've not noticed anything else that needs work on but I suspect that over time I'll find something else. And whilst they are at it they can convert a few more standard cars to premium.
