... Maybe you guys haven't golded the driving challenges or license tests, or maybe you should bring an even powered car to the races and see if it nets you more experience points.
The real problem is that of all the AI drivers one stands out every time.So you only have to race him,is this enough for you? Also matching up is very difficult. Some times you go as low as half the HP the AI has and you still win...easily!And also XP is a set amount for your position in the race.

Apparently 61 millions copies of the franchise have been sold.
That may be, but remember that not all of the money you pay at the store goes to PD. Also, they had a lot of mouths to feed over the years of production. I'm not saying they didn't make any money, but I severely doubt it'd going to be in the billions.

So that solves the mystery of no seasonal events in week 7.

Of course not, but it's still a LOT of units, and a LOT money being involved. You'd think enough to get events this week hey?

Funny, I'm still playing A-Spec. I'm at level 29 almost 30, and still have every endurance race to do, 2 licenses to do, seasonal events to come, half of extreme races left, B-Spec is hardly touching extreme races yet. Maybe you guys haven't golded the driving challenges or license tests, or maybe you should bring an even powered car to the races and see if it nets you more experience points.

Wow, you must be terrible at this game then. I did it all in a couple of days, and I'm an idiot. Also, you still haven't answered my question from before. Sweet? Salty? Maybe a bit of both, like a chocolate covered pretzel?

The Bluray discs themselves cost Sony $20 to publish, add to that 5 years of R&D on this game, server costs, and licensing fees, and they probably make only about $10 on every copy sold.

Yep, no offence, but maybe you just aren't that great at racing?
Anyway, you will notice all the other posters are talking about their OWN impressions of the game. You, on the other hand, are giving your impressions of how WE play the game, and you really ought to be less presumptuous.

Most of us have played previous GTs - we know the format. This is supposed to be a racing game, and many of us are tired that after so many versions of GT we are still having to structure the competitiveness of races ourselves - yes, we know we can make the game more competitive by choosing a rubbish car. Why are we having to do that? The game lacks the structure to offer competitiveness without us having to generate it ourselves, and for so much development that is a bit of a letdown.

But anyway, that is MY opinion - I shan't tell you yours, and I would prefer that you don't try and tell me mine. And really, shoudln't you be off practicing?

And your proof for these figures?

Tell me the other racing games that gave you updates each week for more experience points.

Tell me of another racing game that needs to in order to keep its fans interested.

Or which other racing game had an academy with a free shot at being a race car driver.

A cheap, and poorly organized marketing ploy to sell more games.

Forza stopped with their car updates, that still fall short of GT5's by over 200.

Maybe because Forza didn't want to pack in cars from an older console's version of the game. (Alto works anyone?)

Also, there's some, actually a lot of us, that think the game wasn't 'rushed' or 'half done' when it came out.

You must not have played GT1-->GT4, because all of those titles handily show what PD & Kaz are capable of producing.

I'm level 29 right now, and I've never had to grind any race.

Then you're in for a rude awakening. ;) You're about as far as you can go without having to grind, or do SE for a quick XP boost. I hope you like Indy. :D

Clearly PD is not good at keeping promises. As long as they don't promise anything, everything goes well. The moment they promise something, they break that promise.

Who cares if SE7 is a few days late? If you're that obsessed with the timing of updates for a game, get a new hobby you removed by mod

Words fail me.

Absolutely. My remark was solely aimed at the money making comment. I've had some insight into this for some time now (in a different branch of business mind you, but still) and thus can say that a lot of people would be surprised by the amount of money making a product actually costs in contrast to what it is sold for. There are a lot of people holding up their hands before a game hits the shelves. PD surely is going home with a big fat plus, but it won't be anything near multiplying the sold units with what they cost at the shops.

But still, they must have their systems all set up for seasonal events. Select track, tick box, select car allowed, select xp award, select credit award, repeat 5 times. Upload to server, new seasonal events done. It surely can't be that more complicated.

Oh, sorry if my opinion isn't valid. I guess seeing as i'm new i'm not entitled to one...

Everyone has an right to voice their opinion. However calling people, with arguably the most offensive word possible isn't a good way.

How difficult can it be to set up new seasonal events?

To be honest I'm a bit lost why we are discussing this, I never said this wasn't the case. In fact, I just said pretty much the exact same thing here.

Fair point.

I hope kaz is enjoying his 'little break'. He deserves it. 👍

im with the other guys on this. stop whining and moaning cos there is no events yet, get a life and do something if your that bored. put a different game on. yes you can do that these days. it amazes me how so many are bitching about it. its not even been a week and people are carrying on as if its the end of the world.

go and do your misses or something. no need to keep moaning about it jeez

I don't think the problem is the update to the seasonal event itself, the update was probably ready on time, I think they are waiting for another update to the game itself to be posted first ( new rally track, v1.0.6, ... ). That update should have been ready at the same time but clearly isn't....

there prodaly finishing off so standend to permuin car or something for a new big update

Such a rational argument, anyway the point is NOT just that the events are late, the point is that the events where promised and not delivered and that NO explanation or news update was given.

Another well thought through, neatly presented (is your capslock broke?) and eloquent post. So your moaning, about people moaning. The irony of it all.

Spell check is your friend.

In my eyes issue is not SE7 events not being up.
Problem is broken promise.

My Morals are maybe different to morals to other people, but if i promise something it is like we have signed a contract and shook our hands, it is binding.

If you fail to deliver promise, that in itself is not a problem, but how you handle the aftermath is an issue.

I am sure they have, to them valid reason why they did release them, little break statement from kaz tells me that he does not think he has done much wrong, or does not really stand behind his promises.

SO if you're a fan of GT5 you're an ass kisser? Or you're on Kaz's nuts? Roh-kay!

The lames here are funny. Forza has poorly modeled cars that are from previous iterations of it's titles, don't act like they aren't. yeah they may have more LeMans cars or more of a certain group, but really are you going there? It's always the 'Forza has this' argument. Or the 'Kaz is slow' crap. Weve heard it all before. Get on with it.

I must suck at the game that i've only had now for 3 or 4 weeks, cus I'm 'only' at level 29? That's funny. I thought I had a life and a child that I need to feed. I didn't know I 'sucked' because GT5 doesn't get my undivided attention. Maybe when a few of you grow up and have a family you'll see that things like this are trivial. That's an attitude you need to adopt. Because if you're so bent out of shape about a missed update that you're lucky to get in the first place, I can't imagine how life must be for you.

Let me get this straight. The game is 'half assed' because it doesn't suit every damn thing you like in a race game? And because Forza or NFS Shift have different elements, it's rushed or not complete? So challenges that net you extra experience because you don't want to 'grind' are all of a sudden bad because they aren't here on time? But "lol omg", if it was here on time all of your lame posts would be directed at 'can i get some set ups?' or some other crap about how fast you beat the new challenges and how great you are. It's like you take internet forums about a video game as a measuring stick of yourself. You know most of you are sheep and follow what the leader does. That's why there's always groups of people who thumbs up other posters who share their same view. "Hey, that guy hates GT5 but secretly loves it too!" If the game is so crappy and you guys are so upset about it, why are you on this thread wondering about updates for seasonal events 7? That's the reason I'm here.

You gotta ask yourself sometimes, what the hell is the point in getting bent out of shape? If you allow yourself to get caught up in a debate on a forum about a game we all obviously own, it speaks volumes about your character. I don't get on these forums to argue or debate. I like to share experiences, post pictures, talk about set-ups etc. Not rant and rave that my update isn't on time. I'm just posting on this thread to liven up the mood. Let it go, give it a break. Look at the bigger picture of life. This crap aint so bad, you waited how long for GT5? You can wait a bit longer for some races that grant you extra XP. I just think it's sad that people gotta resort to name calling and bashing someone else's opinions because they like or don't like the game. Man obviously it aint so bad of a game if you still have it. Or maybe you just can't find something else to play? I can.
