You've just answered why that will never happen.

I don't see why it should be a problem for them. We're not paying for the Seasonal events; everything they add to the game now is to attract more GT5/PS3 buyers, and keep up their reputation for GT6. If players can create endless content, it's less work for PD, it attracts more new buyers who find out it's got endless community content, they're free to work on DLC that people would pay for (like cars) or whatever else about the game they want to fix or improve.

Good point; I hadn't thought of it that way!

"This has got to be one of the most unorganized games ever."

Yeah its like integration is non-existent or an afterthought as best.

Just another example of PD talking out their ***. Just another example of why you should never believe anyyhing Kaz or PD says. They lie, period. Then after the lie they say nothing. Aren't you people used to it by now? I am. I would not be AT ALL surprised if we never see one more seasonal challenge or one more update for GT5 ever. They probably will continue to update GT5, but I don't take anything they ever say as fact or truth in any way, ever. Maybe Shift 2 will be what GT5 should have been as far as the single player game goes. Who knows. Don't be surprised when people who have problems telling the truth in the past say things that turn out to be complete BS.

This thread is a gem.

I'm lvl 29 and a half a-spec and want to reach lvl 30 fast. I was disappointed that there isn't SE7 but I got TDU2 so te wait for the next SE won't be so bad. :)

What I find most telling about this little break is how it highlights how flawed the structure of GT5 is. The reason I say this is without the updated seasonal events I can't find much motivation to play GT5.

At the moment im level 35 in A Spec and 31 B Spec with only a few endurances left to do. As I refuse to do the 24hr endurances until we can save when pitting then I have very little to do. My only option is race online (no chance with the idiots) or grind away by repeating events. Now if this was the 1990s or early 2000s then I would be happy repeating events for credits/xp. However these days the likes of Forza 2 and other racing games have shown how playing single player can be much more exciting than just grinding away like you have to in GT5. For example suppose A Spec had leaderboards then because the seasonal events hadn't updated I would of enjoyed replaying A Spec events so I could challenge my friends overall times. This would never seem a chore because your repeating the events to beat your overall times rather than for credits.

This is the main problem with GT5. We don't have enough A Spec events, no career leaderboards. More importantly we don't even have stock leaderboards like GT5P. I found GT5P had plenty of replay value because of the time trials and at no stage did I ever get bored. We even had the online matchmaking servers which were much better if you fancied a race online because you just simply entered the race and away you went.

Im sure their are some people who are happy and content grinding away and absolutely love the gameplay on GT5. Well I feel sorry for these people because you obviously haven't enjoyed some of the racing games that I have played. Even TDU had career leaderboards and so did Burnout Paradise.

So now without this update all im left with is just 2 time trials, boring B Spec, or grind away for a pityful amount of credits, xp. The physics might be excellent on GT5 and so are some of the tracks i.e Rome, Madrid but my word did PD make a right cock up of the rest of the game!
👍 great summary and where I am at, just the 24hr endurances to do. The only decent online rooms are with friends and due to timezones that is infrequent. I have purchased all of the premium cars and have most of the standards that I want so I look for other things to do.

One of things that LBP proved is how the community can take a game forward so that leads to;

- an event creator, which is something I have mentioned before in other threads and has also been commented on.

- a course creator, another great idea with a poor implementation. Unless I have this wrong, but I can make only one course (of those I have created) available at anytime for my friends to download, and as the 'base' course I have built from is randomly selected I cannot just post the specs on eg GTPlanet so anyone can SIMPLY recreate it. And the icing on this cake, playing your own course online is dreamland (to keep it balanced I do not know whether this last point is fair on PD but what an opportunity !)

Either of these, with XP rewards, could actually make the XP system work.

I think the main problem, which makes everyone bitch( and makes me wanna bitch allong) is that imo we all bought a game which is 50%ish finished!
So yea they need to keep updating w/o freakin breaks cuz half of the money we spent on this 50%game will be starting to look like a donation to DP !

Btw killzone3 open beta is online! Its awesome !!

I'm willing to wait. Challenge the leader-boards on the time trials or play online. The higher the number of laps the greater the experience gained online. It's not much but it's something. I bet half the people complaining don't even have everything finished and could still do challenges or gold license tests. There's a lot to do in GT5, challenge yourself. You might find some good racing to be had. I see there's been problems with the Academy and cheaters, what's that makes GT owners look like? You get FREE updates and a FREE academy, but people cheat. He changed the track and times. What happens? People cheat, again. It's chinese new year as well, do you work on new year? I'm not here to argue or make excuses, but there could be plenty of reasons if you just look at the bigger picture. You'll get the SE-7, when can't be answered, but they'll be here.

People complain but when you come from a place like I have, where you had nothing growing up, you learn to appreciate what you do have. I think some of you need a lesson in humility and appreciation. Having something is much better than having nothing. This is a GT game, not EA or Forza or whatever. PD and Kaz will do things their way. If you don't like it, it's just too bad isn't it? We all gotta wait. This is much the same when people were complaining about the game being released. Now its here people still complain because of an update that didn't appear on time. Not everything is on time. That's a fact of life. Even trains planes and buses are late from time to time. Cut PD some slack. I'm sure they've got things under control.

+1 and with very good taste I might add.

I see there's been problems with the Academy and cheaters, what's that makes GT owners look like?

Well it depends on whether you would prejudge all GT owners based on the action of a few... and it depends on whether you look at how PD is addressing the problem... (hint very poorly) and with a lot of question as to whether you are shooting yourself in the foot by not cutting if everyone else is... not because "if they do it's ok if I do" but becuase "if they do and I don't I have no chance of progressing".

It's chinese new year as well, do you work on new year?

If I work in a Japanese company headquartered out of Japan?

I'm not here to argue or make excuses, but there could be plenty of reasons if you just look at the bigger picture.

Well you just went off and made a bunch of excuses and I guess by saying you aren't interested in arguing that's your way of telling us you aren't debating, you are just telling us how it is because you are right?

People complain but when you come from a place like I have, where you had nothing growing up, you learn to appreciate what you do have.

Actually if we all just hold our expectations to where you came from where no one had anything, we just open ourselves up to getting only that for our money from companies... after all it's in their best interest to provide the least we will pay for for our money.

The argument "I had it so hard you should act like I did when I had it hard" is completely ridiculous... it's basically saying "ask to have it bad rather than demand to have it good!" WTF kind of logic is that?

PD and Kaz will do things their way. If you don't like it, it's just too bad isn't it?

Yeah it is... that's kind of what makes people complain... when things are bad... why is this a surprise to you?

This is much the same when people were complaining about the game being released. Now its here people still complain because of an update that didn't appear on time. Not everything is on time.

The reason people are complaining about the update is because they had to complain about the game when it was released becuase it was so half done.

This isn't like complaining about not getting a freebie, this is complaining about not even getting a reach around.

That's a fact of life. Even trains planes and buses are late from time to time. Cut PD some slack. I'm sure they've got things under control.

Yeah because no one gets made when planes trains and buses are late right? That was apretty bad analogy to choose...

How do Kaz's balls taste?

+1 and with very good taste I might add.

It was quite :sly: reading those posts back to back

Such bad, or should I say almost nonexistent support is rarely seen with major games, let alone with a game which sold what - 8 million copies? The game is not complete. Many features flawed or not working in the way logic would dictate. And somehow the fanboys still fail to see they've been had. PD don't communicate, and when they do it's so vague one'd rather forget about it all.

Lack of seasonal events? Now that's super lazy. Failing to spend 2-3 man hours (tops, with lack of restrictions) per week for a game which made them SO much money is just .. well unprofessional and disappointing.

Gosh, so many people saying "You are getting the updates for free so stop complaining...." but that is complete rubbish. This is not the 20th century for goodness sakes, and we are talking about PS3, the most advanced and online-capable gaming console the world has ever seen, and a budget bigger that that of many small countries to make the game.

No, the updates are not "free". They are paid for with the millions, if not billions, that the makers are receiving for this game. In this day and age updates are mandatory, as is an online component.

What the lack of a seasonal event so far this week has done is expose the lack of substance of the game. A-spec is deeply unchallenging thanks to the rubbish AI, B-spec is worse than pointless without the ability to train your driver (like the old Forza Motorsport), online racing is so hit-and-miss as to be unentertaining for many. The challenges were to be the saviour of GT, but without them, really, who cares.

Having bought the original Playstation to get the original GT when it came out, and having played every incarnation of GT there is since then, I can easily say that, unless they change the format drastically, this is the last GT I shall ever bother to buy. This game is way too shallow for amount of development and cash that has (supposedly) gone into it.

Best post in the entire forum. 👍

There's no way GT5 has made billions of dollars. Sony as a whole barely nets that much in a year, let alone a quarter. Tell me the other racing games that gave you updates each week for more experience points. Or which other racing game had an academy with a free shot at being a race car driver. GT has what other racing games wish they had, that's saying a lot. Forza stopped with their car updates, that still fall short of GT5's by over 200. Also, there's some, actually a lot of us, that think the game wasn't 'rushed' or 'half done' when it came out. If it was how come you're still not at level 40? I see a bunch of whining and complaining that they have to 'grind' to get to certain levels. I'm level 29 right now, and I've never had to grind any race. I've still got most of the extreme series to do plus all the endurance races. How is it that I can be almost level 30 and still have serious racing left to do but others here are 'grinding'? I'll tell you what it is. It's that idea that they can just run through the game, beat it as fast as possible, then complain about it.

Take time to do all the races with the same type of competition. Half of you probably take supercars to the Sunday cup. What kind of reward do you expect for that? Doing all the challenges, the licenses, the races, the seasonal events; I don't see how you can say the game is 'rushed'. It's fine by my standards, and I've played just about every race game there is.

Seriously though, do we need another thread like this to turn into a rage against Kaz? There's enough emo threads as there is already.

👍 Right you are what happened to the good old long and challenging GT's of yesteryear.

...... A-spec is deeply unchallenging thanks to the rubbish AI......

Well said my friend :tup:If A-spec was challenging,at all, we would have been there now playing it again and again instead of waiting for PD to throw us some ''food'' for ''free'' 👎

Funny, I'm still playing A-Spec. I'm at level 29 almost 30, and still have every endurance race to do, 2 licenses to do, seasonal events to come, half of extreme races left, B-Spec is hardly touching extreme races yet. Maybe you guys haven't golded the driving challenges or license tests, or maybe you should bring an even powered car to the races and see if it nets you more experience points.

It's not updates for more experience points. It's updates to make the game look less unfinished. Oh and you're mistaking an effect for a cause. Lack of what to do is why we're not at level 40.

It would appear pd have a habit of building up your expectations, then letting you down big time. This saga is just continuing with that form.
