Apart from a few cordial greeting and farewell words? I would expect ... nothing. Maybe ... "cool cars around here" and no more.

The great shame about this meeting is that the guy from Turn 10 will inevitably go away and then be told by Microsoft to dish dirt on Sensei Yamauchi and Polyphony, it's how companies like Microsoft and Intel operate.

Dan's a pretty scary guy. He needs to cut down on... caffeine, sugar, something. But one would hope he can lighten up that Forza 3 is being well received and probably selling well.

I'm amazed that no matter how much pressure Yamauchi-dono is under, he's always calm, composed, jovial and diplomatic. The closest I've seen to him being shaken is E3, where he looked pretty distressed. Although I attribute that to him being forced to showcase GTPSP, not Gran Turismo 5.

That could mean GT5 info leaks for us. :p

Or maybe another stimulant that starts with a C...:sly:

Atleast he cut that forrest around his face..

Must have been his forza progress beard, id give it about 9-14 months..? lol

We can hope, but why would the competition want to "advertise" their Daddy\rival?

If we get anything GT5 out of T10 it willl most likely be its shortcomings.

It just looks so much like Dan thinks he has the superior game and he is meeting a guy who he doesnt really care about because 'Forza is so much better than GT'.

I know a picture could be worth a thousand words, but really, all I see is two gearheads talking and smiling. That's all.

...And Dan really needs to grow his beard back, or at least a goatee.

That's nice. But still does'nt change the fact that, Dan is an arrogant jerk.

I dont think it's him, I think Micro$oft tells him what to say. Dan is a visionary man just like Kaz, they both want perfect sim racing game, but working under Micro$oft screws him badly!

I agree. He looks really weird without it.

Not a goatee, he looked like a douche ;) , I rather see him clean shaved or even grow a short trim beard rather then look like some punk who is making millions of dollars. When someone makes so much money, and you are not a rock star, they do need to look bit classy and professional.

From the perspective of a bystander on the sidelines who plays both Forza and Gran Turismo, this meeting of the minds was both a surreal and incredibly cool opportunity for me to witness.
I apologize to anyone who hasn't followed the NBA, but is it just me, or is this like comparing Michael Jordan to another "Next MJ"?

Yamauchi is pretty much a legend. This other dude, and I could not tell you his name without reading back the posts in this thread, is not even close. Maybe not another Harold Miner, but no where near a Kobe Bryant. Trust me on this. :sly:

P.S. Is it "nowhere near", or "no where near"? I'm a former ESL student. Cut me some slack.

:dunce: Good question!

Two car enthusiasts at the SEMA car/tuning convention, i see nothing unusual here. Both are head of competing video game titles, and Kaz is to some extent Dan's Hero. You can see the respect they have for eachother.

I agree with what someone said before about Microsoft putting words in Greenawalt's mouth. I also think his comments about Forza 3 being the best of the generation, were combatting games such as NFS, Grid, PGR etc. I think all the backlash he got for claiming Forza had more cars and better graphics than GT was unfounded, as he said those things long before anything for GT5 was truly confirmed.

So, what do you think they discussed? :)

Friendly conversation, likely about the cars on the show. Dan probably asked KY about GT5, since he is a fan about Gran Turismo. Other than that, nothing.

Dan's a pretty scary guy. He needs to cut down on... caffeine, sugar, something.

I believe I'm one of a kind here, cause I find him to be friendly, and not scary...

I'm amazed that no matter how much pressure Yamauchi-dono is under, he's always calm, composed, jovial and diplomatic.

...unlike this, that really creeps me up. :nervous:

Atleast he cut that forrest around his face..

👍 Looks way better than before.

That's right. I disagree with the beard and goatee part, though.

We should have a poll on who's more handsome.

Good to know, good to know. 👍

Neither? Probably the Forza guy, he looks like House.

I'm a guy, but... I would go for Dan. He does look like House, after all. :D

I completely agree.

Im extremely disappointed with FM3 and was even thinking of trading it in for MW2. However it is my opinion that MS had a large influence on how FM3 should be developed and the franchise has suffered as a consequence. The last time I checked the matchmaking servers, only 1000 were playing online and this is before the release of MW2

If Turn 10 had any sense they should leave MS studios and produce games without any interference. I can't believe they would make this many mistakes with FM3 if it wasn't for MS.

The Forza community is generally very unhappy with Forza 3 and rightfully so. Obviously MS wanted FM3 to compete against GT5 but in my opinion they now have no chance. I actually think FM3 was ruined because of GT5 because the development of FM3 seems rushed as they wanted to get a jump start on GT5.

I will add that these are my opinions that aren't based on any actual facts. This is just an observation of playing FM3 and noting how many flaws there is with this game.

The only real "problem" with Forza III is the fact that it all seems dumbed down to cater for a wider audience. That doesn't automatically make it a bad game - far from it. All games have their flaws, and these days games get patched anyway. Sure, the graphics look a bit arcadey, but that's part of the direction MS wanted to go with the game. You only have to look at how many Forza games we've had in quick succession to know that MS would have released this game late 2009 anyway, regardless of the status of GT5.

"So, you're here to check out some cars?"
"yeah, you too?"
"Yep. how it going?"
"good, good"
"company going alright?"
"making some money, keeping busy, you know"
"yeah"
"yeah"
"hey that mustang looks nice"
"yeah"
"so, about the new game..."
"you gonna get raped"

Since T10 is working for Microsoft, why not create hardcore sim for PC just like Flight Simulators?

Also the 1000 players for matchmaking, I think these numbers are only with the areas close to you so it wont LAG too much, unless I am wrong.

But yeah, If Microsoft gave T10 more time and freedom, they would of create way better sim then GT5! Even with lesser graphics and less cars on grid, they could make better physics, maybe more cars, events etc etc. and not to mention more polished game.

Just look at PD and SONY, I bet SONY is mad for PD to take so long, but hey they gave PD 5 YEARS! Turn 10 had what? 2 years?
