Just ask yourself, what are you trying to accomplish in the game? 100% and the ending credits? After that sell the game? This may not be the game for you then. I got 60% in GT2 80% in GT3 60% in GT4. Im Currently at 60% in GT5 and only lvl 20....... I'm in it for the GT experience my % means nothing to me but this is the fastest I've ever gotten to 60% in any GT game. The last 40% are races I'm not even looking forward too.....
Do you just want to get 100% faster to be satisfied?
Agree 100%, the severe lack of events and the leveling system are by far the biggest let downs for me.
I think PD lost the big picture and focused too much on frivolous endeavors, the stupid facebook thing mentioned comes to mind, head tracking, 3d etc. It's undeniable, no rally events and we have all these rally cars in game, wtf was PD thinking?
Hmmm...even though there is a lack of events in the game, the overall structure has been very nicely done. Right now I'm level 22, finished all my licenses, kart special, top gear, jeff gordon, and all the series except Extreme in gold. I have AMG school, GT Rally, Grand Tour, Loeb Rally and extreme events to gold, and am slowly working my way through the special events while checking for the Formula GT in used dealership. I have not bought a car except the required ones for racing and I have 2.5 million in credits. When I need help getting a car, I ask fellow GTP'ers on the chat room to borrow a car. I still have not grinded one single race yet and I can see myself getting to level 25 without repeating events once I get a gold in them.
Yes there is a lack of events, but that's if you're settling on silver or bronze on the special events and licenses and are mainly focusing on A-Spec. If you seriously don't feel like grinding, maybe go and get all your golds on the special events and don't go on a spending spree without careful planning.
GT5 is a big disappointmend for me so far. I feel cheated by PD and I finally quit buying games at the release date or becuase of reputation.
- No damage systtem (I am LVL 18 and I havent seen it yet. so for me no one exists)
- Rain and night races only in Special Events
- Standard Cars and no cockpit view
- Lack of Events
Yeah graphics are nice, physics are great and driving is fun. but I quitted playing after 2 weeks because I almost finished every event.
If you sub the endurance races from the game there are how many? 36 events? And I have to sub the endurance races because I have a life and I will not race for hours!
Bring on the DLC (I will not pay for this) and add 100+ Events or GT5 will die very fast.
Adding events to the game is a ridiculous easy job. Even the janitor could have added those. Add an image, add a name, define some variables for the rules - voile event done.
GT4 had many more events despite having less cars. You state lack of events but then say there are events you don't want to do(endurance). So you mean lack of events you like. PD can't win. Impossible to give everybody what they want. Complete all the events to level 40 then complain about lack of events.
GT3, was like GT1 and now Gt5 is like those 2
GT4 was like GT2 and GT6 will be like those 2. Even numbered games are the content heavy Gran Turismo's...

PD did announce that the game is only 90% finished at the most ... this means there will be DLC and I wouldn't be surpriced if that means both cars, tracks and events ... if that's not the case I'll be very disapointed with a GT game for the first time ...
I actually did manage to purchase F1 2010 like I said. Totally different type of cars/racing but I am having a blast. I definitely won't be standing inline for GT6. I will wait for reviews and you all on here. Until they have a huge overhaul, I doubt if I play GT5 religiously.
