How the hell do you run that track I've seen people turn 1:05's and consistant 1:06's. I can't get within 5 secnds of that most of the time. :ouch:

It depends on the car you're using. I'm assuming you're using exactly the same car?

There are tricky bits to Laguna. Mostly they involved braking early and being very gentle on the throttle... and knowing where you don't need to brake at all.

Try braking early and staying in a higher gear for both the second turn (the sharp left) and the Corkscrew. Ease back into the gas as the car comes around, but resist the temptation to punch it.

Neon is right about the corkscrew - I managed a really good time (so I thought) but then stuck in a higher gear through the corker and took almost a second off my really good time - making it an even better one !!!

But its does depend which car you are using - which one is it by the way ?

definitly one of the more challenging courses in the game. I'm still trying to work my car around it for a good time... anyone kno a good time in laguna for a tommy kaira fully built

It might help for you to hug the inside on turn being very light on the throttle but it depends on what car you are using.

I just raced this course the other day, My best lap time was :58:766. I was using the F094/S.

The best areas to improve your time are at the corkscrew, and at the first few turns from the start. You can really fly at these parts, and not brake at most of them. Like Neon said, brake sooner at the beginning of the cork, and stay far to the right. Then accelerate through the cork. Start off the cork with an easy throttle, then when you hit the center of the cork, hit the gas for full throttle.

I was using the 787B and stopped using it because of understeer. I went to the F094/H and ran a 1'04.580 on my second lap with default settings. I was thinking you could run under a minute on that track. Hell that 1'04 is kinda embarassing now. I was like yaaay I ran a 1'04. You ran 6 seconds quicker.

I had some issues with understeer in the RX-7 RZ and 787B at the first few turns that really annoyed me so I switched cars. I know I can dial it out but it wasn't working for me for some reason.

The last turn leading uphill to the corckscrew is also very important, that alone can give you a second if you hit it right.

Rather than have this turn into a laptimes comparison only, and get moved to the Spot Races board, lets have people give more advice and tips on the track, like the original post was asking. Thanks!

As Neon has rightly pointed out I also noticed that this was becoming more of a time comparison thread than a track advice thread !!

Anyway to get back on the track (so to speak) at Laguna - I've sorted out some time tomorrow to run at Lagua in my Poly 001. Im hoping for a sub minute time, but Im really going to concntrate on cornering braking etc and I will report my findings as soon as I have them !!

My best is aboyt 1:02 with the p001. just run lots of laps and you'll get the hang of the track.

Yeah Laguna is still a mystery to me. One thing I've learnt is that the last turn before the corkscrew is VERY fast. I used to be really wary around it but now I just slam straight through it, it's really pretty easy. Of course the corkscrew itself.. :yuck:

Yup, the corkscrew can be nasty - try doing all your breaking before you turn in. Give it a little throttle just before you crest, and make sure you keep of the left curb - as long as you are straight after the left-hand crest, you can introduce more throttle, and even use the grass on the right hand apex - just mind the wall at this point.

well I ran loads of laps this morning and got really pi88ed off ! I bet about 5% of the laps I ran were clean. I managed 58.2 but thats way off my target time of 56.5.

I kept on messing up at the first turn - the car just felt too loose for some reason, and the corker WELL I think I broke the world record for the most number of offs at the corkscrew !!

Its right what someone has said though - the first few turns you can really fly if you get them right - then its up to the corker get that right ie brake a bit earlier than you would like to then stamp the gas through and the car seems to drive itself around the right and the left turns - the last turn is sloooow and then its the straight.

It reads easy but I got very annoyed with it today.

Has anyone got any setts for the 001 at Laguna - Ive searched but cant find any - I need to get into the 56's badly !!!

Thats alot better than what I could do. I have been waiting for that all day.

well i just raced fairly and not passed by the sand any time. Just racing as in real life.

I´ve got in the house of 58 seconds, can´t remember the tenths of second.

Not too hard, just precise driving and too many concern.

I have some good setting but Eagle won't let me share them, I'm scared of him:scared:

HA !!! Well if eagle looks anything like his 'tar then Id be scared too - But Im sure he doesnt and Im sure he wouldnt mind letting you share them (has he copyrighted them ??)

You could PM rather than post here then they'll be for my eyes only !!
