I'd do it.

There's a certain point where you get so mad at a car you want to do stuff like that to... If you can afford to, you do.

But the owner was mad at the dealer. This was some sort of "consumer rights protest". I doubt the lambo dealer cares at all, and I suspect very few prospective buyers are being turned away by the stunt. Just a waste of a car.

For what it's worth I'd have the same opinion even if it was some crapbox commuter car.

People from at least 3 different countries who've never met are now discussing it on a forum dedicated to a video game.

I'd say his protest to get noticed is working.

He's getting noticed no doubt, but that doesn't really matter. If I run through downtown totally naked I'll get noticed and get put on the news. What will that do though?

The backstory to the "protest" was that a dealer wasn't doing their job and giving him crappy service. This was done on some consumer rights day as a protest. I really doubt it did anything.

If his goal was just to get noticed, bravo, good work.

If I ever see that guy I'm gonna.....

- I can't see why anyone would do this, he may have stressed out but this was uncalled for.

My dad bought a Ford Crown Vic for $500 a few months back... Owner had gotten pissed off by it to the point he took a front-end loader and an axe to it.

I see this as the same deal; yes, it's anger with the dealer... Because they couldn't get the car right. If he didn't have the car, he wouldn't be a madbro. Smashing it to me makes absolutely perfect sense given he is able to afford to throw it away like this.

Not to mention it's likely still perfectly good for quite a lot of parts. And that the publicity from it may mean he can sell it for more than a pristine Yardoh would go for.

I guess if you have so much money that the cost of a Gallardo is of no importance.. maybe. Even then it's still just a waste of a usable thing.

I guess, my view is that it looks like the extremely rich version of a 3 year old's temper tantrum.

Not just the dealer, he reached out to Lamborghini headquarters and was given the cold shoulder as well.

Lol doesnt seem big but ask other owners or potential owners and Im sure this action is more meaningful than most would think. I can say for sure that if Honda C.S. Was so bad other si owners did this it would definitely make me reconsider if not out right buy something else. Fact is, when you buy a car worth that much customer service should always be at the highest level.

Why... :(
What a waste of a car that many people would dream of owning, to me this makes no sense at all.

I would rate that as a stupid act at least, but still, it is his car and he is on his very own right, can't say anything about that.

Next time though, I would suggest him to buy a 458, at least it would set itself on fire eliminating the need of hiring hammer bros.

That's awesome. I would love to be that guy. The problem now is that he will forever be known as "Sledge" at every other dealer he ever goes to.

Engine still good?

also gotta say, that damn thing is like a saturn. hard as hell to dent.

The way I see it, it's his car and his money so he can do what he wants. The car is screwed up and he clearly wouldn't want to sell someone a messed up car. If he won;t drive it, why not get rid of it and show his feelings on Lambo while doing so?

As much as i love the Gallardo, it's hardly a rare car with over 10,000 already produced, so it's not like the world is losing some irreplaceable gem. Plenty of them must get destroyed by talentless owners anyway.

This guy might as well create as much publicity to his plight as he can. Something which he's been incredibly successful in doing by the looks of things. If the owner of an exotic car has been moved to smash it to pieces because he's getting no satisfaction from his dealer or even the manufacturer, then it doesn't reflect very well on them at all does it?

Well that would have saved him alot of money on labour costs.
