Wrong, that isn't the same car. It has a diferent body and as far as I know was developed for GT4 specifically.

From what I saw of the pic of the EVO, it looked pretty similar. I distinctly remember the spoiler being in that weird place. Lets just say it is the new WRC in a funky new frock. I'll pretend it's the new one.

The lights are different too.

If you mean the headlights they don't look much different to me. I haven't got a decent picture of the rear though.

That new Lancer is one cool car. That shape of the wheelhouses (correct word?!) is certainly new.

And for those pic comparisons; c'mon they look 98% the same, except from a 'roof scoop' (who needs that anyway) so it's fair to say the new Lancer's in GT4

Wheelarches, it's new but the Lancer WRC 04 hasn't ben very successful.

hahahaha that wing on the trunk looks ridiculous.....i've never seen a car with a wing so far forward on the back....im sure it creates a ton of downforce tho...look at how the upper lip of the wing is turned upward at almost a 90 degree angle. the car itself looks tight tho i still prefer my friend's MR over the WRC car.....still i hope its in the game.....i'd love to try it out!

First it isn't the official WRC Lancer that is in the game and Two there are already enough lancer's in GT4. They better put some more Subaru's in it like they did in GT2

I care little about the inclusion of another recent EVO rally car, as the VIII ‘super rally car’ fulfils that role adequately. However, I am rather annoyed that PD has seen fit to give both the EVO VII proto and EVO VII WRC the chop. It looks like GTP is in need of a new banner…

Edit: anybody else notice that Tommi has been removed from the VI WRC?

It's even more weird, because the car was shown in GT4 press shots ( the GTPlanet banner).

And like you, i'm annoyed too. With so many cars added, i don't understand why they decided to scrap them. Let's hope the US / PAL versions have them since they'll have the Auto Union Type C and that Mazda car i forgot the name.

As I understand it, the difference between the photos you see at Mitsubishi and the GT4 Evo WRC is that the in game car is the 03 version. As anyone who follows WRC already knows, Mitsubishi Ralli Art took a year out of the WRC to develop the new car. I imagine that there will be differences between the 03 and 04 versions.

However, the GT4 version is one hot ride - and it is a total blast to drive.

Here are some shots from my Photomode archives that I've shot - these are from Grand Canyon. I hope that you enjoy em.

Finally, just to add my 2cents.... the spoiler and the look of a race car is, and should be, dictated by function. In other words, if the spoiler on the trunk is placed forward, the ralli art engineers obviously put it there for a reason and I'd bet that the reason isnt because it looks cool there.

No the Evo VIII WRC with the wing placed back like that is not an 03 version, the car was unveiled last year in 2004, there was no Evo VIII rally car on 2003.

oookay- just to double check, I turned my Playstation on and looked. The game lists this car as the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Super Rally Car 2003. As I stated in my post - I KNOW that there was no 2003 model running in the WRC.

I watch the WRC a lot and there was no Evo in 2003, though there was some privateer Evo's. This year there are 2 drives: No.1 is Harri Rovanpera and No.2 is shared between Gilles Panizzi and Gianlugi Galli. The Mitsubishi performed poorly last year and in Monte Carlo this year it wasn't as bad. Gilles Panizzi also completed one of the stages the fastest.

1. Thats an Evo VII (7)
2. Tommi Makinnen never drove the Evo 7 in the WRC, he switched to Subaru for 2002 & 2003.

Messiah, I am well aware of the different EVO models. I am referring to the EVO VI, as it has been modified for GT4. Incidentally, the EVO 7 proto has always been blank in terms of racing numbers and names.

Edit: a pic to illustrate the change. It is also of note that the rear now sports a blank white bumper.

so did anyone have a look at the photos I posted? just curious if there is any interest in them or not. I have others if ppl are interested.

Nice pics of the Evo VIII WRC lonewolf1. By the way, as proof for your earlier point, this is the car rallied by the works Mitsubishi team in 2003, the Evo VII.

the rules of the WRC say that you can have a higher wing further forward on the car or a lower one further back and this was the better solution for the evo and i am pretty shure that i ave seen it in one of maskriders garage shots
