LEAST Favourite corner

The last chicane on the Nurburgring GP track, trying to get good speed through there can frustrating as hell, especially when you brake too late.

I forgot this one, it's such a laptime killer. Many times have I nailed a lap only to carry too much speed into this final section and have my lap invalidated :(

EDIT: Sorry I mis-read your post, I am referring to the chicane at the end of he straight on the Nordschleife.

I just find that corner too tight, I usually exit it out of position for the next corner which is also a total 🤬 of a corner. Go slightly wide and clip the gravel, and you end up beached.

Don't get me wrong, it can be fun most of the time with Road cars that aren't too fast. Tackling it in a Race-tuned car however is a totally different ball game.

I hate all of suzuka, every one of the corners feels totally wrong imo. R246's final corners (the left and the double right) get me every time also, it's weird because my favourite corners are right before them.

i must agree with you about suzuka's corners, although, i like the track for that reason! :P

I choose Suzuka, any corner. I have never liked the track, most likely because I suck at it.:)

That is the exact reason why I hate it. Although I might have been exaggerating before when I said I hate all of it, I really like the first two corners after the main straight and the really fast left before the final chicane. It's the S-curves that I can't get right, no matter how I try and that just ruins the whole thing for me.

Yet another vote for the last corners in Fuji, especially the last one onto the straight.

Also yet another vote for the first corner in Daytona road course. Still have nightmares from that challenge in GT5P with a Ferrari 430 which seemed to swap ends on that corner at will.

And another vote for the chicane in Cote d'Azur down from the tunnel.

Interesting that they're all on courses that I don't like as a whole (and in the case of Cote d'Azur, positively loath in any fast car).

I also don't like the two very tight corners in Eiger - surprised no-one has mentioned them, but I like the rest of the circuit.

And I'm glad I'm not the only one who keeps having problems with the last corner on the Nordshlief (sp?) before the long straight.

First Chicane on Monza, and the 90 degree turn on Le Mans after the long straight, I either brake too early or too late and go wide into the dirt or sometimes the wall.

Dunno if I'd call it a corner strictly, but I always get apprehensive on the section between the Flugplatz and Schwedenkreuz on the Nurburgring, where you're going flat-out in an area with no trees (rare on this course) and the track ever so slightly bears left. I rarely get that section right. I either left off the gas too early and spin out, or stay on it too long and overshoot into the grass. Either way I am never in good shape to take the sudden sharp corner Aremburg with all that horrible sand.

I think the thing that these two sections have in common is that for some reason, you can take them almost flat in some cars, but in others you wipe out big style, and it's kinda hard to see why :ouch:

Variante della Roggia (2nd chicane) at Monza always gets me with the braking. I think it's the bridge that goes overhead just before the braking zone (before in an F1 car anyway!). It's just a fiddly little bugger. That said I absolutely adore the Variante Ascari.

I generally don't like corners that have a late apex (i.e. they tighten up) as I like to turn constant radius corners in to two-apex ones. So basically any corner that comes under that banner gets hatred from me (Turn 1 at TGTT or final corner of Fuji etc). One exclusion from that is the 180˚ corner at Magny-Cours (obviously not in GT5) where I think I've just done enough laps for me to work it out.

Here's my pick

1. Second corner of Nurburgring 24H Config
You nailed it! Awful corner, I don't understand why they aren't using the GP config when doing the 24H.

Another one I hate is the final left of the Porsche curves at Le Mans. Don't get me wrong, I love the flow of the Porsche curves, but then the last one is sooo difficult to get right on entry. By the end of the 24H, I still couldn't put the car consistently on the apex.

I don't like Fuji as a track (the ridiculously wide run-offs make it hard to judge the braking points), but I must say that the last section is the best part of it (and I'm not counting the stupid chicane as part of it). I like the way the corner exits are off camber, inducing power slides if you aren't careful with the throttle.

Nürburgring: left hander leading up to the 2nd mini-carrousel.
(either too slow, feeling I should do it faster, or too fast that it will hit the sand, very difficult to fall inbetween, although getting better at it now.)

Nürburgring: first right hander , going up hill, past the 2nd mini-carrousel.
Very often I will lose balance of car, and will oversteer messing up the next right into long straight. I take this safe each time, and then steady accellerate into right hander into long straight. I know I can shave 2s if I learn it properly, it's unforgiving.

Nürburgring GP, 1st sharp right after long straight, I brake really long, only to come to it ending up oversteering into left grass divider. Hate this corner. Perhaps the dip is poorly implemented into the game, no immersion.

no other complaints.

The 1st corner of daytona road coarse I'm either too slow and get passed or I lose the back end coming off the bank and spin every time. It kills my times

Fuji's last corner for me.

I can never seem to get the right line when I take it. I'm either too slow, or taking it too wide. The huge run-offs around the circuit throw me off too.

Fuji's last corner is definitely one of the funkiest corners in this game, usually I have no idea what I'm doing when I enter it and mess it up completely. The corners before that are nice to drift though. :P
