Someone has waaay to much time on their hands, and I wish it was me. That's utterly pointless, but incredibly cool 👍

And I still havn't finished building my Millenium Falcon.

Be glad that you only have the regular Falcon...

because LEGO just raised the bar with this monster!

33"x22"x8", 5200 pieces, 13.25 lb (6kg), October release, $500 (£350).
I know what I'm getting myself for Christmas.

Check out this Technic monster (thumbnail):

800 pieces, 2.5 feet tall, took me the entire day to build. Both booms and the jib can move, and well as a rotating base and crawlers. It's got about 8 feet of "cable". It so big, the counterweights are actually needed to keep it from falling over (they are pretty heavy). It's my dad's retirement/Christmas present, as a crane almost identical to the model was used in his final project.

Damn you! You beat me to it in my own thread! :D

I don't think I could spend half a grand on Lego and not have my wife beat me to death.

Anyone going to buy this behemoth?

I was going to post it yesterday, but it obviously already was.

Pretty sad when a 20% off coupon brings it down to a still staggering $400.

Well, if you would disappear for 5 months, what else are we to do? :p

Not a Star Wars fan; otherwise I'd get it. Looks fun to build though. Probably take about a week.

Maybe I knew about it before you. :sly:

Reading the small print on the shop at home website you CANNOT combine the pre-order & free shipping with any other offer. Looks like your coupon might not be any good for this one. It will likely also be a Legoland/web exclusive.

Not a Star Wars fanboy myself, but I am seriously tempted to add it to my fleet. Should take 9 or 10 hours to build judging by how long the RBR, ISD and DS2 took me.

sweet thread. my genesis is in legonation. when i go home next ill post a pic of some of my creations. i think the only remaining intact interesting creation is an awesome red Twin V8 supercharged/nitrus injected catamaran speedboat. it rocks

I am so going to get me one of these:

Newest Brickjournal states that one of the review-builders used three-four hours building one of these!

Legos rock! I have 4 boxes of 'em and still build with them every so often. Mostly I build futuristic cars or spaceships. Good times!

i used to make crazy things with lego,i maded a submarine with all my pieces,
i maded a tank,a police station....
i already made all the things you can do with 10 000 pieces of legos
there's hardly some thing i don't maded with lego's

Its pretty expensive i think. I saw it for like 200AUD a few years ago

I got two free from shell gargage years ago, i think i still have one built, I will have a look for it.

And I have always loved lego, I like building my own things, I recall making a full size AK 47 out duplo once, just for the hell of it. I don't use it these days, but I have used it alot in the past.

It looks like car makers are not the only ones going retro. This picture has just surfaced...

It has been a real pleasure to help design this anniversary model, with 2008 marking the 50th anniversary of the original LEGO ® brick patent.
...
Model 700 was one of the first boxes to feature the new LEGO brick, it is therefore only natural that in this anniversary year we celebrate the LEGO brick with this special model - inspired by the LEGO System of Play box from 1958

Reading all this makes me want to get my legos out...mostly Technics, I remember having this big old cool alien ship with dipping wings...and a pretty neat shuttle/submarine with the fibre-optics...I miss having fun with it ._.
