Great post.

It touched the heart and let myself and a friend reminisce about the days of being a kid..

Deep Freeze Defender (best non-Technic set that I ever recieved)
http://www.brickset.com/search.aspx?Set=6973-1

omg the deep freeze defender. i think getting this set like a decade ago was the pinnacle of my lego years. i remember my friend and i raced to see who could get their parents to buy it first. i won :sly: i think it was like $50 when it was new, the most expensive set i ever owned. (i made alot of my own stuff out of tons of small modles)

i just made a completely working excavator:)
it has also an 9V motor to turn its superstructure. pneumatics work too

i have a new hobby too...Nitro RC cars, but as you can see i have that williams F1 car

and yes i got a HPI Savage 25...i like it goes fast:sly:

Ah yes, Legos.
They make a Mindstorms robotics system. I've made so many things with it. I love the shocks. I made an all out rock crawler; sort of: it only had enough torque to climb over some books and not near enough suspension motion. I've made better recently.

I have a Lego monster truck. It used to be a Nitro Pulverizer, but I stripped it out and gave it a lighter chassis. She jumps really high now! :scared:

At last year's auto show here, there was a full-size Volvo XC90 made from Legos. I'm not sure if it was completely Legos, or just a shell built on a frame, but it was cool nonetheless:

Yup, I saw that, I took a picture of it too. It was really impressive.

Now if only they put a lego shell on top of a real chassis. THAT would be cool, a real moving, driving, lego (ish) car.

ive just finished building my ferrari f1 car :D

I hate to break it to you, mostly because I have that same set, but Lego recently announced a new 1:8 scale Ferrari F1 model.

http://shop.lego.com/product.asp?p=8674

I believe this matches up in scale with the Williams, which I also have, but presumably improves upon the design of the Williams and the 'Silver Champion' which I do not have.

Now I have to figure out how to convince the wife that this is a must have model.

oh god, legos!

i love it so much... too bad its ultra expensive here in brazil... otherwise i would still be buying...

Ok, i'm losing my mind now. I downloaded the virtual Lego Factory and am now in the process of making an AT-AT. I finished my first creation wich is a desert assualt vehicle. i'll see if i can get a pic up.

waw i never, just have to say
HI to all

Ah, I love Lego. I've got quite a collection too, including the 'Silver Champion', the Ferrari F1 Car, and the Enzo (the good big one, not the dodgy small one), along with stacks of other stuff. I should post some pics :P

Ahhh LEGO, I still remember the first box with that red and yellow bricks in it, I got it at my 4th birthday and I never stopped playing with LEGO.

I still build some cars with the LEGO digital designer to buy them via internet, what a great tool.

This cars a createt with the lego digital designer, you can order your models after building them. Bricks are VERY limited, you cant build big stuff and the editor is difficult to use, but I made some pretty nice vehicles....
Thats some kind of a mercedes GTR

Thats one was inpired by the GT-One, cant build a better one due the brick limitation.

Thats a slagpot carrier from a steel mill.

Now I'll order them to build them in real live...and to improve them with my bricks which arent available in the editor.:dopey:

Just check my HD ive got this lego digital designer 1.5, i dont use it as i didnt understand how to get the bricks do you just click on more or you pay for them?

The newest designer is 1.6 (With some new bricks), just choose the bricks on the right side (color, shape) drag and drop them at the model. The brick will attach automatically, just hold it at the model.

The way you can buy them: Click on the ''check'' price button and the Lego.com site will appear with your model and price. Just put it to you cart.:)

Right so you need to use cash money for a computer brick?
i guess ill just do it my way, if i need more or new brick copy or make 'em
Thanks mick88

what? no no no.

When you download 1.6 that's all you get. the digital bricks you see in 1.6. That's it.

But, you can actually order a real life model of your digital creation.

Ahh sorry, thats how little i knew
i remember playing with it when i first downloaded it and there wasnt many bricks in the program thats why i made that jump.
thanks for clearing that up guys

Bought this wee beastie today. I'm nearly halfway through it, but have stopped for the night now. No pictures from me as yet, as my camera is sunning itself in Cyprus (along with my mum and her other half) and won't be back until the end of the month.

A few stats:

Price: £80
Instruction booklets: 6 (three for each of the 2 models)
Bags: 24
Pieces: 1,877
Length: 66cm (2' 2")
Lego item number: 8285

A few reviews (not mine) can be found here.

Here are 3 models i had lying around, they were really dusty when i found them so instead of cleaning them properly i stuck them in the shower which actually worked really well lol. I made loads more but they were taken apart ages ago...
