^If they did that and there was a problem, PD would look bad. So I don't see that ever happening.

There are a couple of cars id like as premium but 99c is too much.

I might pay £5 for say 20-50 (the figure depeneds on how many of the cars that were included that I was interested in).

I do think its a ridiculous concept that you would hypothetically pay extra to bring cars that were sold on last gen models up to the level that should have been expected on release.

People answering this question with a yes are the reason that the gamingindustry is releasing half/unfinished games in the first place!

A bit surprised by the poll results. This game clearly should have been a DLC goldmine. No idea what PD was/is thinking by not giving us any.

Well since we're talking about a game that is "half/unfinished" and doesn't have DLC, that's kind of a self-defeating point.

I think some developers out there really take advantage of this kind of stuff, and if you think about it, it's a bit of a scam.

I don't like DLCs at all. You'd say yeah, it's pretty cheap, but the problem is that these things add up. I can understand if the DLCs are something that really took extra time from the development time, and that they did everything they could during it. The problem is how can we know for sure that happens?

Every developer out there should be like PD: finish game first, then think DLC later. Let's not change that. If we start demanding for paid DLC, then it might come to the point where they'll think about DLC during the development, and think about which stuff should be released for DLC, and which are to be included in the game. Do we really want it to be like that?

I don't like packs, they got you 5 cars but probably it's going to be 3 new Miatas, 1 GT-R, and 1 super sport. That's why buying individually is nice, you get just what you want.

Exactly why they make packs. Make one or two cool cars that most people want, put them in a package with some cars we couldn't care for less and then charge more money than if it was individual... ;)

Release cars with add-ons is the only good solution for both the company and consumer.

They would probably do it but its take 1 person 6 months to make 1 premium car. I highly doubt they would ever go for this. Maybe work for the arcade based forza, just wont work for PD

I would not pay $1 per car. Let's say you wanted to upgrade all standards, you would be left with a bill for $800. Unacceptable.

I really hope if any DLC is offered, I can buy it all at once for the cost of an ordinarily priced game.

EDIT: And $5 a track? So, $125 for 25 new tracks? I don't think so. I would pass on that one.
Of couse there has to be a limit. I would certainly pay $25 for 2 new tracks and 15 premium cars as long as they are good. If it's just Skylines or Super GT's upgraded to premium I wouldn't pay a cent.

Hell yeah.

Aventador, F-XX, Koenigsegg, etc etc

The problem with that model is that noone will buy unpopular cars. I was expecting to see bundles... now, I'm not so sure. I hope we still get DLC. Not like they can't double dip and have people paying for DLC in GT5 and then use the same 1080p models in GT6...

It's not like you would buy every single car, guys. That would be silly. It's not like you'd pay $1000 for 1000 cars.

They should release very desirable cars for $1 each. At least a few bucks for each well made track. And just as a Mark IV costs 50 times as much as a Ford GT, they should charge less for lesser cars.

With itunes, songs are $.99, but do you pay for entire albums? Not unless you love them. Usually, you pay for the specific songs you like. This is great because people have a larger diversity of artists to listen to, and the songs are more selective.

Why shouldn't DLC be the same way?

The best cars in GT5 actually are much more valuable than the ones in GT4 or GT1. They are far more meticulously detailed and enjoyable. Of course they cost much more to program into the game, and we should pay more for them.

The 800 standard cars in GT5 would have to get upgraded to premium before I would drop a cent on DLC, and the DLC would have to be new content, not "upgrading" stuff already in GT5.

I already paid $60 for this game, and got 800 cars from GT4/GTPSP, which I also already paid for years ago.

Microtransactions ruin games for me, it just turns in to who ever has the most money has the most complete game.

Amazed they haven't done DLC yet. End of the day there a company, like any company profits comes first. What the hell is going on over there.

As I alluded to earlier, the end result of that would very probably be that PD would focus on the boring, high profit margin cars that everyone and their brother wants while neglecting the more offbeat selections.

Amazing isn't it? A company that isn't going out of it's way to milk their fans dry.

To bring potential millions in, you want to be an idiot not to.

As opposed to holding up a giant sign saying exploit me please! I love being nickeled and dimed! Here, I'll even pay a premium for the lube!

I for one have immense respect for PD for resisting the temptation to turn into EA

I'm dead set against an a-la cart, $0.99/car-like system simply on the basis that it will spiral out of control and loose sight of what the GT series represents so far. This is probably one of the biggest reason I didn't go for the Forza franchise.

However, what I'd like to see are regular 'upgrade' packs for sale like a lot of the general software industry is doing. So far, we've gotten a major new version something like every four years... why not have sub-upgrade versions for about $20-$25 every year or every six months that people are able to purchase? Major releases can act as a 'platform' in which development can continue.

What this allows PD to do is 1) give them breathing space for major releases, 2) while an a-la cart system constantly makes them push for new releases all the time, it gives them goals and deadlines for upgrades... becomes content-driven, and not cash-driven 3) keeps the fans happier (I'm nearly done with my GT5 now...) 4) generates income for development

I could see scheduled quarterly content updates, possibly even as a subscription service, being a good thing provided they included a healthy chunk of new events with every release.

"I already paid $60 for this game, and got 800 cars from GT4/GTPSP, which I also already paid for years ago."

If you think the standard cars are all GT4 level quality, go visit an optometrist. And if you think getting the same cars in the PSP game means you already paid for them being in GT5, you need to ... I don't want to be rude to you, but that's just unreasonable, mate.

You were not deceived about that GT5 would be like. You forked over your cash for a couple hundred premiums and many hundred more pretty nice standard cars. Some of the standard cars are actually very good looking, too. Go look at Veyron pics in the photomode forum.

PD doesn't owe you any more content for free. I think PD does owe tweaks to the menus and other performance issues like that, but if they make standard cars into premiums, you should pay them for that.

Otherwise, what's the incentive for this valuable product we want? Without the incentive, they won't be making it. We should want PD to make lots of money if they are smart enough to offer excellent DLC.

The very best DLC I can imagine is just as you wish... making all the standard cars into Premiums. That's not feasible, probably. They probably would have to re-license much of that and spend millions recording and rendering them. Would makes like RUF be able to slip through?

But still, if PD has a pack that makes hundreds of the standards into premiums, I would pay $20 for it.

That seems like a good idea to the consumer because it's like pff not even a dollar of course I'll get a couple of my fav cars. Than next week a few more new ones, than a few more, than a few more, etc. It really adds up and screws the consumer so bad. Like $0.99 for a song like iTunes does it is insane when there selling iPods, bragging that they can store up to 10 thousand songs. That means it's gonna cost you 10 grand to fill it lol. Screw that.

Money I've used solely on GT5 so far:

The actual game, 60€
My DFGT steering wheel, 83€. (going to be replaced by a G25 or G27 someday.)
My custom cockpit, 280€

So that equals over 400€ that I put money for one game only.

If I count the 40"TV and the PS3 in it too that I bought mostly, but not only, for GT5 the price skyrockets to 1500€ zone.

I'd like to see DLC in form of: "1 real life track with all variations plus 20 completely new premium cars"
or something like "4 classic GT tracks plus 50 standards converted to premiums" for 10 € each.
