LM1000hp Le Mans Championship - Sundays @ 19:30 GMT+0Finished

I think GTBE_Bouya is going to join the chapionship but at the moment is winning the money for the car..... ;-) Is there a test lobby tonight ???

Starting Procedure - Rolling Starts

Grid
  • Races will be started from a stationary grid as normal with the polesitting driver responsible for leading the field around for a formation lap.
  • The polesitter shall wait until the starting lights turn green before steadily moving off.
  • The other drivers will move off only when the driver who qualified ahead of them moves off. Note your position and driver ahead prior to moving off
  • Drivers required to start at the back of the grid (those automatically placed at front due to reverse grid due to missing race 1 for example) should make their way to the rear of the grid over the course of the formation lap in a consistent manner avoiding any incidents
Formation lap
  • Formation laps shall be driven in single file. The leader shall maintain a consistent pace and should aim for a target speed of around 100mph (where safe)
  • Important. No driver shall use excessive acceleration or braking during the formation lap.
  • During the formation lap, a minimum of 1 car length should be maintained at all times (please note this is not a maximum!). Drivers should avoid travelling too far behind or excessively close to the driver in front.

Mistakes
  • Any driver who because of a mistake stops, or who leaves the track is responsible for rejoining the formation lap safely.
    This may mean waiting until the entire field has passed and rejoining in last place.
    The driver shall not attempt to regain their original starting position
  • If a mistake causes a significant amount of other drivers then a restart may be called at the discretion of race stewards Doc and Yo. This will involve a further formation lap with the car instigating the incident starting at the back of the grid.
Race start - green flag
  • Important. Each driver shall *only* start to accelerate to race speed upon crossing the start/finish line.
  • Any drivers deemed to have jumped the start by race stewards will be demoted by an amount of positions relative to the advantage unfairly gained or 20 seconds added.

Mark: Your Race Start- green flag concept may have some adverse consequences. Maintaining a constant speed (everyone must be at a predetermined specific speed) looking for the start finish line and watching other cars will be a driving as well as an administrative nightmare. By instinct all Drivers will start to go faster when the car in front moves away so most drivers would incur a penalty and the series Police would need to check everyone's start. It would be easier to administer if the rule was that no one could pass the car in front until after the start finish line and cars need to remain in contact with each other until after the start line. This would prevent the drivers at the rear from lagging back and then dive bombing the cars in front at the start line.

Hi Bob.
We ran 3x eight-car rolling starts at rome pre-season trialling several different methods, the final one being the one outlined above.

The night went really well (better than 2nd tokyo rolling start!) plus checking by Doc/Yo will only take a minute by switching car to car on the replay.

Everyone seemed most comfortable with this one but see how the starts go and we can refine as needed.

That's great news Yo. Could you explain rolling start guidelines to new championship entries?

Have listed in full above but summary below:

  • 100mph - single file
  • consistent speed - 1 car gap minimum
  • go only when over start/ finish line

Just a thing.
From last GT6 update, we have lot of problems with cars sounds. Tonight, we have maked some tests and problem wasn't resolved. So it could be a big problem for us on sunday. But the worst is when you lost sound during race ! (same problem with tyres sounds).
At this time unfortuntelly, there is no solution ...

Sadly I am not going to be able to race this weekend. My significant other just informed me that we are going north to a friend cottage. I was looking forward to Daytona and these cars.

Have you tried clearing the cache?

Please find below the final regulations on tyres and ballast. These have been developed by Doc and myself and aim to keep the racing close while minimising changes between race 1 and 2.

The only alterations drivers will be required to carry out after race 1 will be for the top-3 podium finishers of that race to choose only RM or RH tyres until pitstop 1 - after that there are not any restrictions.

Doc and Nem will be responsible for ballast calculations and checks.

  • 6. Tyres
Race 1
No restrictions, use any tyres.

Race 2
Top 3 finishers of race 1 will not be allowed to start race 2 with RS, only RM or RH are allowed at the start.

  • 7. Ballast

The ballast system will be split into 2 categories, Race Ballast and Championship Ballast.

1) Race Ballast.

If you finish in the top 4 of either race you will gain:

1st = 20kg

2nd = 15kg

3rd = 10kg

4th = 5kg

This will not be added until the following round of the championship.

This ballast will remain with you until the car change at the halfway point of the season.

2) Championship Ballast.

Ballast will be added to your car if you are in the following championship positions.

1st = 100kg

2nd = 75kg

3rd = 50kg

4th = 25kg

This will be adjusted between championship rounds.

The sound thing is a bug and id happening to a lot of people, it was horrible trying to race with it on Sunday. Hopefully they patch it. Until then I might struggle to participate.
