Looking for bad/average adult racers.....In other words, I suck and have for years...

My lounge is open as meeting place for all of us average drivers to gather and race.

To all of those looking for my lounge, add me as a friend, after I accept you can go to Community (it's under gtlife and profile) then find me and click on my lounge(looks like a cup of coffee)

Even though I'm not in there, feel free to us it to hang out, chat or race.
 
I accepted you as a friend but I could not get this to work at all last night so I ended up just joining another room. Your room was always greyed out and never accessable. You might want to make sure it is working properly.

I've just started racing. It shows.
I do brake for corners and try my best not to crash into other people. I don't always succeed. I'm a bit reluctant to join the pro's because i don't want to get in their way...

Yeah we were actually in another lobby because most people were not on. we will start hitting up whiskeys lounge to keep this from happening again.

We could access it if your not online. Last night we were my lounge, It wasn't planned or anything, i was testing setups and people started to join in, so we stayed.
 
AMH_ is my PSN, I believe im not too great at online racing, but would love to get a chance to race with you guys, add me if you wish.

Im new to the whole GT thing, used to 'arcade' racers.

Is most of the communication (chat) in lounge done with text, or have you got headsets..?
I got a headset yesterday and hankering to try it out...cause I'm even slower at text than racing..:lol:

I've been playing Gt since the ps1, but for some reason I still suck!!! I'm a 36 yr old father of two that still loves racing after the kids are in bed. I have 4 close friends that I race with, but would like for us to have more to race. The problem is, we all suck to other gtplanet members standards. If we race in other rooms (other than our lounges), we either get schooled or end up frustrated at childish drivers. Is there anyone else out there that is in our shoes? Do you love the game so much, but can't run with the big dogs? If so, add me to your friends list and let's race. Seriously, We are not that good. Some of us have to you assists etc. If any of this sounds like you, Whisky_River is my psn.

I feel ya..

I'm a master of GT1 and GT2..I have never played GT3, but recently i bought a PS2 with GT4... I sucked at it...:sly: ... because,when i play GT4 it looks like I'm moving slowly but I noticed that I'm driving as fast as 150km/h!

But I'm getting better at it now... 2 days ago..I bought a PS3 with GT5,things are going better for me....

I'm now at level 15.... I recently upgraded a Honda NSX...until 400HP.. Right now thats the only car I feel I have a chance at competing online. :D

Most of us have headsets on there. It's a really good-natured group of guys, and the racing is a lot of fun. Running karts last night on Eiger was a blast. Of course, as mentioned above, karts on the ring would really make for a great race.

I have played most of the GT series and I still suck. Always looking for peeps people to race in the UK ideally, if anyone wants to race a mediocre player or offer advice then I would appreciate it.

Yeah I wish I could have stayed for the karts last night. I'll admit. As someone who hates the concept of NASCAR, I did have a good time racing. Although, you guys were running laps at 2 or more seconds faster then me. Were you well tuned or just well trained?

I'll be on again Thursday likely.

The trick is really just to stay with the pack and draft. Once you're out of drafting range there's not much chance you'll catch up, that was my problem on Daytona last night, got a little too cutesy trying not to hit anyone and was left behind.

I have a lot of questions I you have some time to answer..... If you add me to your friends list, can I see that on my screen? Do I get invites to race? I used to play NASCAR 08 online ps3 until EA shut down the server. Is this online racing similar as far as invites and stuff? I don't have a headset, is that ok? I'd like to say I race clean, and I try to, but I do wreck sometimes will I get booted if I go off the track?

Both. We all have tuned our cars...some more than others. Also, the more you race it the better you become. I used to hate NASCAR racing, now i can tolerate it :crazy:

lol, I wish we did some other tracks more often, a few shuffle races would be pretty fun. Also, I didn't know you guys tuned your cars....

If you add someone you'll be able to see when they're racing in their lounge. Currently the place to hang out in is Whiskey's lounge so you would have to add him. Invites aren't really implemented, you just have to ask when people are going to get together, but Whiskey does a good job of letting everyone know. No headset isn't a problem, I'm currently using a keyboard attached to my PS3 to communicate with everyone in between races. As long as you try to race clean and not bump people on purpose it's all good. Everyone makes mistakes and we've had plenty of crashes so far. :D Unless you're intentionally ramming people then you probably won't get booted as I haven't seen that happen so far.

On the XMB go all the way to the right, select Add a Friend, type in the person's PSN and a message so they know why you're asking for a friend request.

At one point we were letting the winner of the previous race choose the next race/type. We should do that again.
