You know what? I lied. I've learned I have a Sixaxis and not a DS3. Strange I thought it was the same. Differences aside though, we all know what's really going on.

You can all add me as I have a single friend who plays GT6.

If you're talking about Ascari then it's probably 2:23.806, right?Today managed a time of 1:23:806, about one hundredth of your time.
I was for the 1st half ahead of You but You are stronger in the second part of the lap.
This track is so much fun that no one can ever get bored of this TT in a hurry!

I'm really proud of myself. I'm 187th currently (I believe) and about a year ago I wasn't even dreaming about getting near the top 1000 (I was around the 20,000th place in GT5 mostly) and now I've got in top 200. I was also 889th on Deep Forest after I did it, probably over 1000th now sooooo I just hope I'll keep up with the good performance.
The thing that helped me the most was watching 1st guys cornering techniques so I also started kinda sliding through the corners which can lead to sharper turns without losing that much speed.Yes was talking about Ascari!
Your racing lines should help others get better. Like I said, every one may invariably help each other in some or the other aspect.

Added you buddy.

On Ascari ?If You were to compare Your times with mine, we go hand in hand as sometimes I'm ahead & sometimes You are.
You ultimately get the better of me at the back straight. You gain much more speed, which means Your transmission settings are better than mine.
Today again managed a time of 2:23:9xx, a 10th slower than my best of 2:23:807.

On Ascari ?
Transmission is default, i hardly ever change it.

I've just changed the max speed.
Keep ranging it between 250 (for faster speed on the back straight) & 220 (for better acceleration through the medium corners).
Any suggestions on this?

Default, as it came, no changes !
Hope your not using SRF?

It will make you a better driver in the long run but SFR is frowned upon here at GTPlanet as it gains you multiple seconds per lap by giving you much more grip.I think that option is ON because I'm not that great a racer with my DS3.
Would switching off the SRF make a positive difference, just like how switching off ASM makes a good difference.

If you wanted to enter into a race series on here or the WRS you are required to turn all aids off apart from ABS.
But at the end of the day, whatever makes you happy but after playing with no aids and the control over the car you have its hard to use them again.

I would mate but i already have loads of people i raced with since GT5 and we all use all aids off.I've been using SRF primarily with powerful MR cars as my driving style is fairly heavy thumbed in conjunction with TCS 1 or 2 and I have always had difficulty with the MR (either light or heavy) cars due to my driving style. I had a go at Ascari here with TCS 1 and SRF off and found the heavy thumb was a distinct disadvantage but managed a qualifying gold time. I was able to match your pace at times but was found out by the end of the lap. A few reruns (all red flagged) saw differing results as far as matching splits went, I can see that some practice will see me a chance of matching your times.
I think for the purposes of matching DS3 times as we are doing here there needs to be parity in regards to settings used by the racers. I noticed one of the blokes on my list was using TCS 5, SRF off. From my experience, having such a high TCS figure actuaally slowed me down as if my car was sliding through a corner the TCS kicking in would slow the car down. In this case I have usually beaten this bloke's times and I would put it down to that figure playing a fair part in it.
I would suggest that if we are going to do this here we all use TCS 1 or 2, ABS 1, and SRF off. At least then that gives us a more equal line in terms of our times. Not that I'm an anti-SRF Nazi....but for the purposes of what we are doing here it makes no sense to have some with strong aids turned on and some not. I'm happy to go TCS 1, ABS 1, everything else off. I will however note it if there is an event that is beyond golding for me without other aids.
