I think you need to review the first movie and/or book. That's a pretty skewed storyline. Who the hell is Gandalf's wife?

No, actually, I was just making it all up to play with Klos (and for everyone's amusement.) I kept some of the details true to the book, but if you read the whole thing, you might notice that nothing in that whole post is truthful.
Well... at least someone got the joke...

Actually I was. It would have been pretty funny, as well as totally unsuspected.

The Ents (trees) truly owned Solomon's tower, and that flaming Ent that ran into the water was downright funny.

Gollum (the little crazy guy) was hilariously stupid in the scene where Frodo and Samwise are sleeping and he talks to both of his souls.

FINALLY saw this. I decided to re-read the books (read them over 10 years ago and have basically no memory of what happens), and finished 'Fellowship' just before seeing The Two Towers - and thank goodness for that! My poor partner was hopelessly confused.

That said - brilliant film - just brilliant. After reading it I can't believe how accurately they got the casting.

Tom M - the ring was in the hands of Gollum before Bilbo - Bilbo tricked him in a game of riddles as part of a ruse to escape an underground area he was stuck in. Gollum is an example of the corrupting effects of the ring.

I was cruising Amazon the other day, hoping to find a DVD release date (not yet). Instead I found several hilarious reviews. There were some hardcore Tolkien fans bashing the movie, saying how unfaithful it is to the book, etc.

You gotta love "more hardcore than thous".

I saw those same reviews (and some others on imdb.com.) It's laughable, because there is absolutely no way to fit 1/5th of what the books had into a 5 hour movie, let alone a 3 hour movie. I think that LOTR 1 and 2 are about as good as you could possible get in movie format. A TV miniseries might have been able to cover more ground, but wouldn't have been able to touch the production values the movies had.

I know, I took a little creative license before to play with Klos. I should ave added a "" to the end of that post, it caused so much confusion...
