Also, if you haven't tried rewind in other games, then try it for a while. You never know, you might like it. If you have tried and it and you still hate it, then fair enough. Leaving aside the obvious "just don't use it" argument, I'll try another tack. What specifically do you object to? Leaderboard times placed with rewind? Rewind in Championships? Would disabling rewind on the highest difficulty or giving a set amount of chances (like Dirt 2) suit you better?
I can understand some people's viewpoint that it pollutes the simulation aspect. But the presence of Standard mode in Prologue suggests that PD is trying to cater to different levels of players already. Coming back with a flat "No" to a feature that would do the same thing seems a bit defensive. There's no real discussion on how rewind might be appropriate here, just people saying "No, and if you want it, you're a n00b".
