Mal, with the help of his brother, John, convince the track officials to close the regularly-public mulsanne for the day. What they will see will Haunt them forever...

Yes, I am. Says Mal via intercom.
You do know you will be traveling in excess of 500kmh, right?!
Mal doesn't respond.

Quite the crowd shows up. The ACO decides to make this an event, and charge spectators for arriving.

A sense of impending doom overcomes Mal.
God, where is it? looking around for X1

Dunlop Bridge and still nothing...

Mulsanne...Mal prepares for the worst.

401. It should show-

The sound of another engine marks it's arrival: X1 has come.

Oh God!
X1 comes from behind with ferocious speed.

Mal looks to his right.

This moment in time, hold it forever close to your heart.​

Then looks down at his speedometer-

Hold UPSHIFT until gear engages

Mal goes to 8th gear

He catches X1's draft, and the speed steadily climbs

632! he says as they pass the halfway mark.

C'mon! Give up already!
Mal! The physical strength of the chassis can handle up to-
The intercom gives out due to the speed.

800!!! Now the engine was hitting the limiter.

X1 Continued to pull away, going forever faster.

The wheels on Mal's X1 began to disintegrate. He was still going 800km/h.

Then the most miraculous thing happened: The very weave of the carbon fibre in X1 had come off.
It was raw, not combined with plastic or any other impurities.
It flew off as if it had just shed it's skin.
Oh,🤬
Mal's X1's brakes were barely enough to stop him.
Mal slowly came to a stop in the sand pit at the turning point.
There, he waited for John to save him.

The speed quickly rose to 360km/h, and with about 60 meters to go, meant that there was more speed to be gained. The tiny G4 began to get very unstable as it approached 400.

Just a thought but at 360 km/h you go 100m/s so i don't think even the X1 will accelerate from 360 to 400 in 0.6 sec over 60m "chapter 1.1"

but its a cool story none the less
