Good to see both MS and Alonso getting punished for being daft. It at least shows the rules really do apply to everyone.
Or that the rules can be arbitrarily created and enforced against anyone. I'm not sure what the stewards are smoking this weekend, but I want some.

I still think that Michael will win this race! Being in P11 is no biggy for him!
I must ask: if Michael Schumacher asked you to kick a kittycat, would you do it?

Rain is always good for action in F1. We haven't had a wet race yet this year, have we? It'll be interesting to see how the Bridgestone and Michelin tyres perform relative to each other in wet conditions, if it does rain. That would also presumably negate the graining problems most of the field have been experiencing with the cold track temps.

My memory certainly isn't the best, but I can't recall wet conditions this year. Spa '05 was wet for a bit of time, and before that . . . Brasil '03?

Yeah, I've just had a quick look through this year's races and there hasn't been rain in any of them. If you've never seen a full wet race then I think you're in for a treat if this one gets soggy. Hungary isn't very exciting in the dry but in the wet I think things will be a lot closer with more passing.

No, we haven’t had a wet race this year. We’ve had a couple of wet practice sessions, though.

I’ve read that Bridgestone does not have a big advantage in the wet, anymore. Apparantly the Michelin tyre is better in certain degrees of wetness. So if it goes wet it could be a very interesting race.

Well I just so the track on Tv and its pretty wet

edit :its seems to be drying up atleast at the start finish line , but it still looks damp , maybe it will dry throught he race

So far this race has been more entertaining than the last race.

Exciting racing so far. The Alonso/Schumacher battle was awesome. I hope we see more.

Great battles happening all over the place. 👍

Michael Schumacher is not having a good race at all! He has had a spin and has been overtaken a numerous amount of times :(

Hang on a minute, what is this? Ye-ah, goodnight Alonso :D Hang in there Schumi!

MS

The difference in pace between the Michelin and Bridgestone inters is amazing. 5-6 seconds a lap. No wonder Alonso drove clean round the outside of M Schumacher early on. A lot of drivers spinning out, not much experience on these inters this year.

Nice job with the wheel nut, fellas.

Unbelievable. Handed to them on a silver platter...

That's the championship right there, fellas. Gone. One loose wheel nut...

This race has gone past ridiculous.

MS is out, and Alonso's soul has been obviously sold to the little red guy on the canned ham.

Talk about luck...

Good job Button.

Idiotic driving for M Schumacher in the Heidfeld incident, 5 points is better than 0. Full of action, great race. Good drive for Button but we're never gonna hear the end of it now

I said to a friend earlier this season that if Jenson Button won a GP, I'd eat my hat....

.... pass the salt

(<---- shadow of my hat visible here)

(Well done, JB!)

The driveshaft went, it wasn't the wheelnut.

edit: The Japanese anthem is a bit rubbish.

Thank God Its Finaly Happened! I Was So Beside Myself I Started Crying! This Is The Greatest Day In History!

1. Button
2. De la Rosa
3. Heidfeld
4. Barrichello
5. Coulthard
6. R. Schumacher
7. Kubica
8. Massa
9. Monteiro
10. Albers

Rest of the field DNF.

Without any doubt, Kubica stunned the whole race today, although he spun out, he's laughing back at Polen by taking 2 points 👍

Excellent race for Honda as they take 15 points and their very first victory in F1 in both drivers and constructor championship.

Great "first" race for De le Rosa as well 👍

Also great race from Coulthard 👍

R. Schumacher hjad an exceptionally bad start but takes 3 points after all and he drove on the race's fastest lap 👍

Bad race from Massa although he took the last points 👍

What can say more? What some surprises! M. Schumacher, Kimi, Fernando, all three of 'em out of the race with Schumacher probably as biggest surprise.

Although, Ferrari really had a stupid tactic on this one...

Get in Jenson!! Good race that, annoyed about the Kimi incident, but I've had a bad weekend and this has cheered me right up! Weekend for firsts really, first podium for De La Rosa, first podium for Button and first win for BMW Sauber

Utterly bizarre race.

Hope that Ferrari/Bridgestone have a full inquest on the performance of those wets. Seemed like the window for decent performance on those was far too narrow - they only worked on a vaguely damp track and they were supposed to be full wets.

I think MS seemed to misjudge the turn-in on Heidfeld - certainly wasn't trying to take him out. Probably he would've copped a penalty for not letting pedro through after going off track though, so he would only have taken a couple of points home at most.

A big well done for his first F1 win, it would seem that being told why he wasn't winning last week on TopGear solved the problem .

Too bad people still can't spell his name right.

Congrats indeed, although I was disappointed that he wasn't emotional at all.

Maybe next time if he wins without any special circumstances.
