Fair enough, makes sense I didn't think about the later viewing 👍.

Well done by Jenson! I feel really happy for him.

Bernie Ecclestone really needs to buy a rain button one of these days...

As i mentioned in other topic - great race !!
Kubica could have been 6th but his team made an mistake, i think that Kubica should change tyres to slicks when he was 16 seconds ahad RS, even if would come out of PIT after RS he still could fight for about 11laps and overtake him 2time :) but after all Massa in his red Ferrari has been overtaken and thats good for "my" driver :)

Damn, i knew Schumacher was pushing too hard at the end. He should of just let De la Rosa past straight away which would have gave him some breathing space over Heidfeld and even if Heidfeld passed it wouldn't of mattered because he still would have taken points from Alonso :grumpy:

Anyway, well done JB:tup:

Awesome, I'm real happy for Jenson, I know he really really badly wanted a win, aswell as Honda!

I know it was a stupid move by Michael, trying to fight off everyone else, but you have to appreciate the fact that he's out there to race. The points championship is important, but I'd much rather see everyone fight like rabid hounds for position than race conservatively because of the points standings. A good race is more exciting than adding up points on a piece of paper.

If you've never seen a full wet race then I think you're in for a treat if this one gets soggy.

I was hoping for a treat some hours ago. Now, I'm stuffed after watching that 'all you can eat buffet' of excitement. Before it all started, I was simply hoping that Michael might be able to take away some points from Alonso for the sake of making the WDC battle a little closer, but now that it's over and we remain where we were after Hockenheim (WCC aside), I'm happy I was able to watch and enjoy this one.

Great drive from Jenson. Circumstances aside, a well-deserved victory. I must say it touched me in a small way being a Honda driver myself.

Good drive from de la Rosa. Was worried for some moments that he might get caught out in his battle with Michael, but he was able to hold station.

Happy to see Kubica do well in his first race. Great result for BMW-Sauber including Heidfeld's drive.

Haters will surely be quick to point fingers at the troubles of Alonso, Fisi, Michael & Kimi as to why the race ended as such, but -- to put it bluntly -- f'em. "That's racing."

This will certainly make for great DVR material as the next race is 3 weeks out.

Yea what happened to Michael kind of reminds me of Kimi a while back where he flat spotted his tyre and instead of coming into the pits and finishing the race safely, he carried on pushing and ended up loosing his car.
I understand what your saying about him coming to race but its Michael Schumacher the most experienced driver in the field, he should know better.

Oh man, Renault's wheel gun guy should've just run for the hills after FA's incident. Excellent race, probably the best of the season, even though Ferrari suffered, but that's just me. I hope this race the FIA what NOT NASCARazing the sport will do. Which is offer excellent exciting racing.

It really depends on the driver. Does he want to win the championship, or the race?

Personally, I have respect for drivers that go out to win a race, rather than a championship. Forget about what happened in the last round, and don't worry about the next round, just go out and win today. Drivers worried about championships result in boring races.

Alonso said it was a driveshaft that failed, not the wheel nut, and its been pointed out already.

The driveshaft went, it wasn't the wheelnut.

Wrong.

He should've changed tires rightaway, everyone knows how fast Ferrari is with pitstops.

Ferrari could've gotten a 4th position finish but their tactic was just lame.

Those tire weren't grooved slicks or wets anymore...

Cheers to Scott Speed being the first to come up on track with slicks 👍

The first few laps of that race were the best racing I've seen so far this year, by a hundred miles. I was expecting either a boring procession or a crashfest from the first laps, and I'm glad I was totally wrong. Anyone still doubts MS or Alonso don't deserve their WDCs? They just made the rest of the field, including their teammates, look like a bunch of amateurs on these laps (to be fair though, everyone behaved very well, with that many close calls). It's a shame both of them didn't finish, that was brilliant.

Who would have thought of that podium?? Congrats to all three! 👍

Edit: Apparently, I was wrong about MS and Alonso. They're both bloody Idiots. Thanks for the insight Bernie, now that's good management.

Just a tad bit too early. So he goes back for inters, what happens? The track dries up!

Oh man, what a terrific race weekend. Qualifying was by far most exciting it's been all year. And EASILY. The best race of the year was today. I can't remember a time where I had so much fun watching a race.

Huge congrads to Jenson. It's funny, after watching him on Top Gear a week ago talking about how he's yet to win a race. And there ya go, a week later he finally has.

Although, big bummer for both Kimi & Mark. It's really rather disgusting that Mark's car has failed him so much, as he's only finished FOUR races this year.

And Kubica deserves all the credit he's been getting. To get 2 points in your first Formula 1 race. On one of toughest tracks to pass. AND THEN have it rain. It really shows how much talent and desire he has to be a great driver. He has without a doubt, proven himself that he should take the seat next to Heidfeld.

Nooooooooo :(((((((((((

But all must rember that his car was 2kg lighter cos - and here comes real horror - cos tyres where too much wear off a !!! :( It wasnt done by team on propose.
So it realy was an error not changing tyres about 15 laps befor the end of a race when Kubica was 16 sek ahad of RS :((((

I do not know what to say :(

Whoa. I think someone should inspect the coffee machine used by the race stewards.

That, or get some urine samples.

Schumacher was disqualified (by a german steward btw) about ten years ago because a plate under his car was a couple of millimeters too thin.

The qualifying for this race was the best I've ever seen myself. I don't recall seeing a more exciting qualifying ever.

As for the race itself, overall it was as good as Suzuka 2005 and Silverstone 2003 for me. The first couple of laps are actually the most amazing passing/action I've ever seen myself since watching F1 in '95. The race overall, as good as Suzuka 2005 if not better, and without a doubt the best race this year.

When Fernando passed Michael on the outside, It convinced me that he is definitely a champion.

So if the Kubica disqualification sticks, do we think Schumacher will be awarded a point or not?

Omnis

It was a cool pass, but bear in mind Schmacher was a sitting duck at that point in the race and was 3-4 seconds a lap slower than FA, due to the Bridgestones being so inferior near the start.

 That race was exhausting to watch! Good on Jenson for finally shutting everyone up. He's worked hard, and deserves this one!

Alonso lost a driveshaft eh? It looked like the car was dropped off the jack early, and Alonso tried to take off a split second too early. I wonder if that had anything to do with it, because it certainly broke soonafter. Up until that point, he had an absolutely brilliant drive. A champion's drive for sure.

Michael...He struggled for much of the race, and I was not impressed with his "defensive driving" when de la Rosa tried to pass him. Cutting the chicane (may have been squeezed), and then subsequently blocking Pedro after that was not a good move. The stewards should have given him a penalty after that, and still should, now that he's "earned" a point with Kubica's DQ.

All in all, a very disgraceful race for both Renault and Ferrari. Let's hope people can get their heads together in the next three weeks. Both teams are turning the sport into a circus.

Surely Schumacher would be very close to being underweight too with the state of his tyres, but would it have been checked as he drove straight into his garage and didn't finish?

Interesting point. I don't think retired cars are subject to post-race tech, but if the car in question finishes classified, and in the points, it should be checked. His tires looked absolutely horrific, so he probably lost a couple kilos of rubber as well. Whether or not his car was underweight is a different question, but his car should have certainly been inspected, since he finished classified.

Could they actualy modify it before the race ends when he retired ?? maybe add a few weights or something ......? so you know what 2 KG means for Kubica it means only 0.5 kg of ech tire soooo close :(

Both teams are turning the sport into a circus.

The officials aren't exactly playing with a full deck, either...

P.S.-Go Jenson! 👍

Just proves what I've always thought. We don't need all these stupid rules and regulations to make exciting races with lots of passing. We just need a system that dumps loads of water on the track at random intervals.
