I don't know. They've taken a lot of time already. I'm sure that there is something else coming besides Photo Stream. What it is? I have no clue. It's been a while since they haven't given us bonus stuff in updates, which I think they should considering the long wait.
To this point I wouldn't mind if it's a free GTR or something. If they don't give us anything, then I would prefer that they confirm that they've started working on GT6.
This. But I think they started working on GT6 long time ago. If it's for PS3 (as I hope) it'll just be "GT5 4.0", the Gran Turismo 5 we all wanted but what we got now it's GT5 2.0+ and possibly until the end of its lifespan, a good spec 3 (with some key feature, like Spec 2 was), making it GT5 3.0... Kaz said that the only stuff that aren't coming to GT5 it's stuff big or complex enough that couldn't be added later, so those are being saved for GT6, but looks like the base system will be GT5.
So, it seems like they'll support GT5 at least until the end of this year because the DLC have good sell figures and it'll keep giving money to them. (Just a personal tought)
About the delay, I think after tons of criticism they just decided to wait and test more before releasing. (the correct way to do stuff, they should've been doing this since the beginning, releasing Photo Stream first on Asia it's a proof of that, maybe)
So, they are either testing some fixes a lot more, or they really have something cool in their hands for us. New DLC for sure... but the update is what makes me curious.
