If they wher to delay GT untill 1st Qtr 2005, why the hell they release a damn trailer stating '2004 12 3' as the release date.
isit just me or is this turning into a crappy mess.

its been a crappy mess since last november, especially for those that didn't get GT4:Prologue.

Dudes, I really feel your frustration, Ive myself been frustrated since last november, but common, you will buy the game anyways, even if it is released next summer, believe me, YOU WONT MISS the best racing game of the PS2......

yeah, I already bought the game. I'm still waiting to play it.

oh well, i wasnt planning on time off work this christmas :)

next year is better for me :)

Maybe PD is delaying it here because they're amking the game harder. I've read articles where Austalian-released games have been compared to Japanese, US and European versions of the game, and the Australian games are much, much harder. For example: one of the most difficult opponents in a Final Fantasy game had 50000 hit points in the US, European and Japanese games. But in the Australian game, the same enemy had 55000 hit points.

Maybe we're going to be lucky enough to get a very difficult game ... fun!

I'm willing to bet the announcement for the delay in NTSC territories will come soon.

Do you race?

shut up shut up.

don't jinx it. :)

Any time now, PD. You set it back for the rest of the world and destroyed most people's Christmases, so it's only fair that NTSC territories suffer a similar fate.

And if you don't, some mad PAL fans might accidently cause for the NTSC people to [ahem] lose [/ahem] their copies.

Yes, knigitt, I am trying to jinx it. And I usually succeed, too.

The GT3 Pal conversion took a similar amount of time, and thus the delay should have been expected unless PD held back the NTSC releases. I wouldnÂ’t be concerned; the US version will be released as quickly as possible to capitalise on the lead up to Christmas. PD named the 14th as the target date- it may even come earlier.

From a December release of Prologue it took until May for a PAL version to be ready for the masses. We really should have seen this coming and I think instead of having a rushed English translation that has been seen in previous Gran Turismo's a more refined and grammatically correct version for all those anal-retentive people would be a better idea. Only then can the world be all the more merry.

I hope its not delayed so they can add online to the pal version, that would bite. Online is going to blow, unless you can somehow race just your mates. Who wants to race against someone you don't know, who will probably either be really hardout or be flying of the track.

I'm not going to buy GT4 next spring and ruin my summer!!!

If I chip my console there's nothing illegal to that : copyright includes the right for the customer to have backup copies - but Sony wants us to BUY a backup copy.

Surely, I will resist playing illegal games when my PS2 will be chipped, but I'm not sure that anybody will ...

Money, money, money, must be funny, in the Sony's world....
You're right, and they're pushing it too far sometimes. I'm starting to hate that company of moneywolves ... also selling mp3-players and then attacking people who download mp3's ...

I thought that Prologue was only intended to be available in the Japanese market originally, as PD suggested that early 2004 was going to be the release date for GT4, but then there was news of more delays and then announced it would release prologue in the Pal territories, quite why they never bothered in the U.S is still a mystery.

That's what I'm wondering... Why would they delay ONLY the PAL version. That doesn't make ANY sense. I know the granturismoworld.com page isn't exactly up to date but I would at least expect a message there. Also with all these adds appearing in magazines, tv... I still think they've mistaken the online version for the offline version.
If the game would come out in Q1 2005, it would be a serious problem. You can't play 2 games non-stop :/ (GT4 and World of Warcraft). I hoped to get some real gaming done in the few months after release...

Dont know about you but i dont want to wait 6 more months just to get a bonus dvd whats the point?

the Bonus DVD will most likely only feature that which we have already seen in Pal territory anyway through Prologue Bonus, and online here at the planet.

Edit: With the seething mass of PAL GTers currently on hand, one wonders if PD are going to release a load of new media and Info on us to try and take the tension out, or just let us sit and stew while we wait for the NTSC guys to post there own when they get it in December.

This is absolute crap.KY obviously dosen't give a sheit about his many loyal fans. You know another pain about this whole mess is that when the game is released in Japanese-US undoubtedly heaps of info will be posted on the net and many peoples suprises will be ruined.Oh well if ya can't beat em, join em. Time to pull out my modded PS2.
