So my buddy calls me on the phone. We'll call him "Dick".

Dick - "I just heard on the radio, we are getting the Diamondbacks!"

Me - "OK, that is not possible"

Dick - "At first, I thought they were talking about a minor league team, but they said the Arizona D-Backs are relocating to Hillsboro(OR)"

Me - "You know how I LOVE NL baseball. I don't want to kill you, stop now"

Dick - "Look it up online!!!"

Me - *little bit hopeful and thinks 'this will be bad for R1600, wait, screw R1600, I NEED NL baseball!!!!!*

Me - "It says that D-Back's farm team called 'Yakima Bears' is moving to Hillsboro"

Dick - "Oh......, I thought they sai"

Me - "Do you like .45 or 12-Gauge? or I can just shoot you with both"

Yeah, it's this pathetic around here. :guilty: Almost as bad as my friend's ability to comprehend English(in his defense, he's a born & raised American :p ).

If that even had a rumor of happening I would have known about it.

They're not going anywhere.

Yeah, but we are getting the Yakima Bear! .......this might end up a murder-suicide.

I know, which is why I didn't believe him in the first place. Our best chance at getting a club was when the Expos were shopping for new home. We got a soccer team instead, so I'm not sore or anything......[/unbearable amount of pain & sarcasm]

Depressing night for the Astros. The scoreboard read 2-0 as we failed tonight. HOU stuck on 28 wins. Fifth time we got blanked. It was 5 hits and one error for HOU; eight hits and one error for KC. Series finale is tomorrow afternoon.

Score currently 5-2 in our favor. Aaron Hill is 2 for 3 tonight with a double and he just hit another home run. Two cycles in a row anyone? :D

Yeah, but we are getting the Yakima Bear!

I'm pretty sure this was all known about a year ago. Yakima's stadium is a piece of ****. Portland used to have a team 12 years ago, but they moved to my town. :p

And just like that we're now losing 8-5.

Typical Hudson and a 🤬 pitch by Breslow who came in to get him out of a jam. They both gave up 3 run homers and Seattle has scored 6 runs in this inning.

Man I hope we come back and win this.

After 4 innings we're winning 9-1. Albert with a 3-run bomb and Trumbo with a bases clearing triple.

Figures, while I'm in a bathroom break, Goldschmidt hits a home run.

Edit: We just tied it back up at 8. RED HOT Aaron Hill up to bat now with 2 on.

Edit 2: They just walked him intentionally to get to Justin Upton. :nervous:

Upton struck out. That was a nice pitch.

What a game! Wish I was able to watch it instead of listening. Blue Jays beat Milwaukee 10-9 after trailing 2-4 and 6-9

Blue Jays hit 6 homers - including Rasmus-Bautista-Encarnacion going back to back to back in the 6th, then Rasmus and Bautista doing it again in the 9th. Brewers hit one homer - a grand slam.
Brewers also scored 3 runs on bases loaded walks and one on a bases loaded HBP.

We're going to extra innings, and we're going to lose this game. I can feel it.

Let's play, "What's in Peralta's Glove?"

My guess: Glock 9mm?

We won 12-5. The Giant's bullpen shut us out until the 8th inning.

I hope to see Mark Trumbo in the HR derby and All Star game. I wouldn't be surprised if Trout and Harper make it also.

So we lost. Why is it that we fail to win when the teams ahead of us lose?

Aaron Hill started off our side of the 1st inning with yet another home run. That's his 3rd game in a row with a homer. Two batters later, Jason Kubel knocked one out too. :D

...and Justin Upton struck out again. The crowd is booing him now. Guess we're all tired of him.

Edit: And now we give up FIVE runs in the 3rd inning, so we're down 5-2. 👎

Edit 2: Montero just hit a 2-run homer to get us back to 5-4. And then McDonald just hit another one to tie the game at 5! CRAZY GAME!

If we can't beat the Royals, what chance are we going to stand against the Indians this weekend? Astros' failed again- 2-1 in favor of the Royals this time. The Royals got four hits and made no errors. My Astros managed eight hits, but committed one error. Astros will have Thursday off. They need to do some soul searching to try to find out how to really emerge in their rebuilding efforts.

Indians at Astros over the weekend, starting Friday night.

Justin Upton 3 run homer!

We've hit 5 home runs today.

And another one(s) bite the dust.

Brandon Beachy to undergo Tommy John. Out til possibly 2014.
Troy Tulowitzki to have groin surgery. Out til August at least and possibly 2013.

Ryan Roberts just hit an inside the park home run! 14-6!

Ahhhhhh!!!!

I only briefly heard about it. Maybe a small cramp is what they said. Guess we'll find out.

Has it been that long? Is this the Rockies? Because I think there was Beavers playing in Portland, I wanna say just 3, 4 years ago.

I can't stand the minor league though. I'm a casual, fair weather fan when it comes to baseball. I've attended minor league games exactly "zero" times. Only MLB. :p
