Posey hit a bomb in the 2nd inning, and Arias got a SF to make it 2-0 a couple innings later...

But I must say.. Joe West has to have one of the worst strike zones I've ever seen. No consistency whats so ever, sometimes he decides he wants to call something a strike, the next pitch he thanks, nah that's a ball.
 
The game was fun because I was with my friends. Lots of funny stuff happened.
 
Just learned that Cahill is 3-0 with a .77 ERA in his last 3 starts.

Someone get a fire extinguisher! :sly:
 
We have an uncanny ability of making bad pitchers look really good.
 
Seriously, a 1-hitter from a pitcher who has or had an ERA over 5?!

At least every other team in the NL West lost tonight...
 
Yeah, Ervin is on and off. Like Dan Haren.
 
I was too busy with the 24 Hours of Le Mans to watch my Astros take on the Rangers. We were looking okay, going up 3-0... until the bottom fell out. Astros failed to score anything else, as we lost 8-3 last night. It could have been a great Houston Saturday if we would have beaten the Texas Rangers to compliment my Dyanmo beating FC Dallas 2-1 in the MLS.

We're now playing to break up a sweep later today. I don't see it happening, but I'll let you know if we do knock off the Rangers somehow today.
 
Another great start from Garrett Richards and Ernesto closed it out. He's only allowed 1 hit as an Angel.

As predicted by me- sweep. Astros' latest fail job was a 9-3 defeat at Texas. First blood was drawn by us with a 1-0 lead before the Rangers jumped all over us. Even with some crappy calling of balls and strikes by the umpire crew, we still lost 9-3. Six hits and no errors for us; 12 hits and one error for Texas. Keep the Silver Boot, Texas.


Up next for the Astros is a 10-game home stand. We're hosting the youngest team in the AL next- the Kansas City Royals. Youngest NL team vs. the youngest AL team. Wednesday will be the last home afternoon game for us as I'm told. We're hosting the Cleveland Indians next weekend after the day off this Thursday.

Just glad we're coming home now. Our pitching has been fantastic but our hitters just suck right now. They need to trade Upton for someone thats a better outfielder and can actually hit with a runner in scoring position. Pathetic.

I picked him up in almost all of my leagues the minute I heard Hawkins and Downs go down with an injury. He has pitched himself well into being one of my favorite closers.
 
Robert Allen Dickey. He has thrown back to back 1 hitters. 25 strikeouts in his last 2 starts.
 
First time since Game 7 of the 2002 World Series the Giants are playing at Angel Stadium. Matt Cain isn't so perfect tonight.
 
We're up 4-1 over the Mariners at the moment. Miley not so perfect this time around, but he's still getting the job done brilliantly. Jason Kubel just threw out someone from left field trying to score at the plate to end the inning. 👍

Goldschmidt with his 17th double of the season. :)
 
The AL's youngest team meets the NL's youngest team. This series features a former Astro- catcher Humberto Quintero. And in tonight's game, we managed to win (survive really) with a 9-7 result. But, damn... it got ugly in the 9th inning as the Royals decided to finally play ball in the Top of the 9th. It went from 9-2 to 9-7 before closer Brett Myers got pulled. Nothing like home cooking for the Astros. Brian Bixler banged one into the Crawford Boxes at Minute Maid Park for his first home run. He's been the money man for the Astros in tonight's victory. Now if only we could have put up this offense and effort in the games we lost on our last road trip...

Aaron Hill just hit a HR, which gives him a complete cycle tonight. :D:tup:

Only the 5th Diamondback ever to do so.

R.A. Dickey became the first MLB pitcher since Dave Stieb in 1988 to throw consecutive 1 hitters and the first in the National League since Jim Tobin in 1944 for the Boston Braves. He is the first pitcher in MLB history to throw consecutive 1 hitters with 10+ Ks. According to Bill James Game Score, he is the first pitcher in the Live Ball Era (so 92 years) to throw consecutive 95+ rated starts.

Yeah, we got the Cubs over the weekend too.

We are kicking ass on the field tonight though. Tons of great plays for the highlight reels. :dopey:

Cain didn't have his A stuff, left too much stuff up in the zone. But did what he does best and leaves men on base. Giants managed to get to ex-Giant Williams early and get into the Angels bullpen. At that point we couldn't get hits with RSIP but our bullpen was excellent and shut the game down.

Pablo was frustrated after just missing one and through his batting gloves away. Haha. His bat speed still isn't 100% and won't be for another couple weeks. Hamate injuries are a real pain for hitters.
 
We couldn't drive runners in either. If Pablo hit that ball during the day it would've been gone.
 
R.A. Dickey is a beast. That was an amazing effort by him last night.


Game 2 of 3 between Kansas City at Houston is tonight here in H-Town.
 
Tonight it's Wilson vs Zito. I remember meeting Barry in 2006 when he was with the A's. I was only 9 or 10 back then.
