I finaly got a PS2 and GT3 for Christmas and am wondering what is the best way to win a lot of money fast. I have all the licenses and a two hundred sixty something HP Miata MX5.

Thanks.

Super Speedway in the Beginner Leage?

I hope not, because4 I've been recommending it to people. Glad to see you are joining the GT3 crowd, milefile.

Most people run the Speedway race in the Clubman Cup or Sunday Cup. That gets dull fast.

If your Miata is all bolt-ons (no lightweight, no port/polish) I recommend you take off all the speed parts, buy a set of T2 Super Slicks for 10,000 credits or so, and run the Roadster Enduro. This nets you 100,000 credits in about an hour, and a chance at some really good cars - even a 25% chance of getting an F1.

One thing - do you know about the virgin oil change trick? Change the oil on any car you buy or win, before you drive it at all. For a mere 250 credits, you get 5% additional horsepower over the base number.

Another thing - I know money will be tight, but I recommend against selling any of your prize cars unless they are totally redundant. You only get 25 cents on the dollar for them and you never know when you may want one later. Just change the oil on them and leave them.

Hope this helps.

Personally I like my pink Vitz. It handles quite well for an FWD econobox, and it can make some power when built up.

Kei cars have a place. Actually, some of the most fun racing I've had was with my built 110-hp Mira, back in the Beginner FF and Lightwieght Cups. It's not all about huge horsepower and Skylines.

milefile, sorry about sliding off- topic here.

I won a few cars and did sell them because I figured it'd be best to use the money to mod the Miata more. But that's a begginer's mentality, I know. I was thinking there must be a low HP endurance race that'd win me a bundle. Thanks Neon. I'll have to give that a try today.

I have to say that I am totally dazzled by the graphics, especially on the same old tracks like Deep Forest and Trial Mountain. The light filtering through the trees is amazing. I have even crashed a few times because I was looking everywhere but at the track.:P

I also like the interface more than GT2. But enough off-topic chatter...

whatever you do don't upgrade your first car dude! specially not the miata save up for a decent car like neon said only get those super slicks and when some enduros

Race on the simple tracts in a cheep car to gain money...........

Get a rally lisence and start saving for a rally car early on. If u win all the rally events GOLD ON ALL u will get the escudo worth 1,000,000 creds its can be tuned to 1900+ bhp. Each rally event u win also get u a rally car worth around £300,000 each so its a quick and effective way to the top in less time....trust me it worked when i did it

Dont do that Superspeedway cr*p. Its just for lazy people. Just do the Sunday cup, then the clubman. Sell all the cars you win. Then do the 'Spider/Roadster' Cup. Sell the car. Once you have enough money to buy a stage 1 turbo and race the begginner turbo cup then buy a racing flywheel, lightening stage 1, racing muffler, and a Carbon driveshaft. If you still dont have enough just race some more. You can now easily win the Turbo Cup in Amateure leage for 5000cr. Took me 20 min. Compared to over an hour with repeating the Superspeedway. Afterwards Keep doing the 5000cr race untill you have anough for a faster turbo car. You'll need it later. I reccomend the Nissan Skyline R34 (whichever one) or if you dont want to spend much money get the Legacy. Its up to you.

BTW, dont sell the Miata. Keep it untill you have a pretty good lineup (say 5 cars and a good budget), just in case. Once you can upgrade your turbo car you can move on to bigger races.

Keep the Miata stock, put some super hard tires on it, and then run the endurance of Roadsters (that is, if you have the IA license ;))

The IA license...

I have noticed that the licenses are a little more challenging in GT3. But a big part of that is tracks I'm not familiar with like Tokyo and Complex String. But I got it.

Just like in GT2, the hardest license test for me was the slolom in a Ruf on Complex String. In GT2 it was some ridiculously underpowered car and probably even harder.

But I have a couple more thousand dollars to earn to get those super slicks and then go do the Roadster endurance. I blew it all on mods for the Miata. But they were all un-do-able mods. I'll have it done by tomorrow. Thanks for all the suggestions. I'll let you know how it turned out.

Off topic... For me, I seem to do better in GT3. I think it is the improved physics and graphics (that is, when I'm not admiring the rocks and trees and hitting a wall) . Is it in my head or has anyone else experienced this?

Ah that one with swerving inbetween the tires (GT2)...

That sounds good, that you can remove all the mods to compete in the Roadster endurance :) I hadn't played GT2 or GT1 before playing GT3, so i can't really comment on this...

Speaking of removing the mods... This may be a stupid question and I've wondered it for all three GT's, but is there a way to remove a modification without going into a race and going into the settings section?

yeah, that license test took me a while to achieve the gold, but ....

try to get all golds for the IA license n race with the prize car (i forgot what it was)

practice makes (almost) perfect :)

well, you can go into the test course under run and settings (for GT3) or in the other GTs under the max speed test and change the settings

that's one way

MF: No, i don't think so...:irked:

Thio: You got all golds in IA! Wow! I can only get all golds up till IB...

If u have a miata i think u should do the endurance race, but i think its quite a pin in the ass to drive a miata thats not tuned or anything

I made an attempt at qualifying for the Roadster enduro. There is no way I can win that. Another Miata just blew by me in the straight and that told me all I need to know. Although there is a series in the amateur or beginner league that pays 2500 a race so I'll work on those and try some other suggestions here.

Do the sunday cup, clubman cup and the Spider/Roadster cups. Sell all the cars you win. Get a stage 1 turbo, weight reduction stage 1, racing flywheel, carbon shaft, and racing muffler. If you are still short race the FR challenge and the turbo cup in begginer. Once you get all the upgrades listed above you will be able to beat the Turbo Cup in Ameature leage easily for 5000cr a pop.

Oh, milefile i mixed up the miatas. *oops* The higher class Miata is a lot better than the older one...
