Don't fall into that trap.
The Miata that blew you away has super-softs equipped and will pit it EVERY two to three laps. You on the other hand will pit about every 7-10, depending on your driving style.
It will take three to five good laps at about 1:40 to get you out front. Then with the AI's pit strategy you should stay out front for the entire 40 laps.

Yes, but he still has the old Miata. The newer one has about 45 more bhp and makes for a faster race...:) Even though it does pit every 3 laps.

I did Sunday and Clubman a few times in my AE-86 and with the stage2 turbo and some other mods, I was able to do the Beginner Turbo (5000 Cr.) a few times. When I had enough cash, I went for a Lancer Evo VII, fully modded in the Evolution meetings in Beginner and Amateur, and the Super Speedway Endurance.
With the Evo 6 Rally car you get, you can easily win the Wet races on SS5 in Rally. You get the Xsara and the Imprezza prototype. That last one gets a Stage3 Turbo and 530 bhp and is easy to drive, you win all rally races very easily, do turbo races, 4WD,...
In the Endurance you win easy, get 200,000 Cr. and with a litle luck, an F1.

But this is just my strategy.

360.000 in 20 minutes !

Enter the Amateur League European Championship.

It's five races with only three laps per race, so it can be completed in less than 20 minutes.

You need to finish first, in the first 4 races, earning 7,500 credits per race, then save your game .

Enter the fifth and final race, and simply quit out of the race, to end the series. If you finished first in the first four races, you'll win the series, more prize money (30,000,Cr.) And one of four random prize cars.

If you get the Gillet Vertigo Race Car, you can sell it for 300,000 Cr. Thus bringing your 20-minute prize total to 360,000 credits.

If you don't get the Vertigo Race Car, just re-load your saved game, and exit the race until you win the Vertigo. Doing this you can get nearly 1,000,000 credits per hour.

And here is the search button: ;)

Actually, if your average lap time is in the range of 1:45 you can build up a decent lead with no problem... and provided you drive smart and don't run off course or slide through the corners, a set of Slick tires can last 15 laps before turning orange (thus you only need to stop twice, and get an even larger advantage. Super Slicks may go as far as 20 and make it a one-stop race, though I've never used them in this particular event). This enduro only seems tough because you need to keep the throttle-mashing in check and concentrate on being consistent.

Also... qualify. You're going to be sitting there for about 70 minutes anyway, so taking another three or four to get a good starting spot will only help you in the long run. Why waste your tires getting around the slow guys, it'll only let the faster Miatas get away from you.

And for the record, I have won this one with all four Miata types (though the older ones needed more time to pull ahead) so as long as you keep your cool you'll ace this one with no problems.

you can go to "Run & Setting" at the "Home" screen in GT3; if you quit without driving or anything, your win ration won't be affected. quite a handy feature :).

Yes, just a shame it doesn't have all the tracks, but it does have Apricot ;)

I haven't had time to try out the Endurance again so I've been doing the Turbo races in the Beginner league for 5000 a race. I won some 74 HP car. I'm liking the Miata more with the mods. Racing suspension has taken care of the pretty bad oversteer. Time willing I should be able to buy or win some race cars in a day or two.
