I fought MK8 was 1080p or is that for online?

My favourite Kart combo looks to be the Circuit Special with Azure Roller tyres and equipped with a Super Glider.

I am disappointed with the Glider selection, I would like some of them if they had a more appealing colour (Parafoil and Parachute) and I don't like character based gliders. I'll likely be just sticking with the Super Glider
nup, turned out to be 720p with no AA.

They got me fulled. I'm not one to judge a game by graphics though but for a 720p game, it looks outstanding and can run at almost 60 fps.

Rubber banding is definitely in the game. It has been in every game in the series.

I know but I want to know if it is weaker than MK7s, the same as MK7s or stronger than MK7s?

My apologies, I read that wrong. I thought you were simply asking if it was in the game.

From the reviews I've read and watched, most people have said that Mario Kart 8 is much more skill based than the previous games so I'd assume that would mean there is less rubber banding.

It looks beautiful still even at 720p.
It'll look great at 480i, too.

Thanks to Nintendo for allowing me to put off buying an HDTV until the next console generation at the latest, with the composite port from the Wii. :D I have to research for one that won't lag horribly on analog signals, so I can actually survive through the '80s and '90s classics that require more precise timing than modern TVs allow.

The new Sony TVs have very low input lag and also are amazingly power efficient: Link

Very good video that contains 3 different reviewers sharing their thoughts, including Nintendaan's attention seeking 'critical' 7.5 review.

I just had the "luxury" of playing the demo just now at a store, and I have to say it has got me even more pumped up for the release! The game is absolutely beautiful seeing it with my own eyes, both the detail of everything and the silky smooth frame rate. The two races I got to do were at Mario Circuit and the Electrodome and both were exciting and fun. I completely forgot about the fact that when you hit another player while in anti-gravity mode it boosts you, so when Walugi and I made contact we easily passed other opponents together. I think this game is going to live up to our expectations and more, based on the 15 minutes I spent with it! I could go in more detail if you guys want but that's just a very brief overview of what I did, haha.

It certainly is! I was checking out the PS4 when I heard the Mario Kart 8 theme, so I had to go check it out. I didn't get the Super Horn during any of the two races, but I did get hit by a Blue Shell right before the finish line on the last lap. I lost that race of course, but since the demo only has 2 laps per race it wasn't that big of a deal. I wish I had more time so I could have tried out the other six tracks though. The characters I used were Mario and Rosalina and I liked the way both of them controlled.

I think its pretty much what we expect. I used the same kart for them both and you could tell that Rosalina was in the higher weight class compared to Mario, as she had the higher speed and all that. I don't know if it was just me or it actually is like this, but she seemed to slide around a bit more than Mario did. I can't think of a good way to word it, but its kind of like how a heavy car on GT6 slides around a bit more than a lighter car.

I'm jealous :(.

I think that has something to do with the new Grip stat. I don't quite understand it nor understand the purpose of it unless it combines; Off-Road, Drift and Stability.

So, what is everyone's plans for the first day they have the game? Heading online or staying in single player?

I figure I will mostly play offline, unlock as much as possible, then see how stable the servers are.

I'll be playing through all the cups on each difficulty level before I head online.

I think I'll start off on 150cc single player for a bit and get adjusted to everything, then jump online and see how that goes. No matter what I'm doing though, I'm sure I'll be having a blast!

The money for my special edition copy has been deducted. :D

IT'S HAPPENING.

Awesome! I've got my receipt on my entertainment center ready redeem my copy! I'm going to want to use all 300hp my car has to offer to get there and back, just to play it that much sooner.

I'll likely hang out on 50cc then do some VS Races on 150cc with Easy before going to 150cc GP (I always skip 100cc).

I hope I unlock Larry, Circuit Special and Azure Roller ASAP.

Am I the only person that works from 50cc up then? I love getting my 3-star rating!

I find it completely pointless the get a 3 star. I'm fine with 1 star as you need that to unlock a Kart part (which means I have to do Mirror 🤬). I skip 100cc because it is pointless to me because 50cc is for beginning my journey than 150cc from there to the end and when I finish Mirror, I'll never do Mirror again.

I probably will soon after I get it, but I've been itching for some online Mario Kart multi-player recently so that's one of they things I'm most looking forward to.

Hopefully we are all online roughly the same time outside of tournaments too, would be great to take Team GTP on the road against other karters.

True that! It's going to be crazy at first, with everyone getting used to the new mechanics and whatnot. It's been a long while since I've played a game online the very first day it was released. I think the last game I got to do that was with GT5.

Nope, I do exactly the same thing. It allows me to learn the tracks better and it keep me from getting super frustrated with the ridiculous item drops in the higher difficulties. Of course that is supposed to be better in this game though.
